## What is Apostle?

Thirty-eight Roman soldiers close the harbor road at Caesarea. You have no weapon, and you keep full control the entire way. You walk into the line, and one man after another is thrown off his feet without being touched.

"But he passing through the midst of them went his way." - Luke 4:30, King James Version

You are an apostle in training. The teacher is never shown and never speaks here. The game is only the practice, carried by someone who is not good at it yet.

There is no attack button, and you carry no weapon. Hostile people throw stones at you, and pressing RECEIVE at the right moment means the stone lands in you instead of on you. What was thrown in anger becomes Grace. Grace powers one aimed beam: it heals people who are suffering, quiets accusers, and cleanses what blocks the road. Receive enough of a thrower's stones and his anger runs out — you break him by absorbing him, not by aiming at him. Resting at a waystone returns Grace as well.

Six numbered rounds, each large enough to walk without being led: the Jordan river, Capernaum, the Decapolis, Caesarea, the Temple, and the Jericho Road. Accusers drain your Grace while they talk. Waystones give it back. Stones arriving close together can be chained. Weather crosses the open ground, crowds and camels stand where you meant to walk, and fear is harder to walk through than anything anyone throws.

On the Jericho Road there is one drawn blade in the whole game, and you do not draw it. Someone who loves you decides you need defending, and cuts a man down. The round will not end until you heal the man who came to arrest you.

Somewhere in the dust is a person past helping. Raising that one asks for a deep reserve of Grace and one unbroken channel, and nothing about it is owed to you.

Something passes over the last valley near the end. It is not explained.

Jesus is never shown and never voiced, and no words are put in his mouth.
