With little added value that comes with a paid version, I see little reason why anyone would want to spend almost $200 on this, let alone a universally-hated subscription model. Let’s be realistic, for the same amount of cash you can get an entire package of Affinity Photo, Designer and Publisher on all available platforms, or get a non-subscription Microsoft Office license for 5 users. I mean, the pricing is just ridiculous. ### 5/5 — Fantastic Customer Support *2024-08-05* As an infrequent flyer, there are updates and changes that I have either forgotten from last time or not set up right. Not a problem, fast developer response and patience dealing with my requests. Helping sync with tripIt pro, adding details which might not have its own tab plus upgrading my better half to my account and checking all is working before closing the ticket. Vlad ### 2/5 — Full of ads, despite having paid for a subscription *2024-05-22* I bought a lifetime subscription for this app several years ago. Unfortunately it has really gone downhill since, the developer is trying to generate incremental revenue by selling esims, flight bookings, travel insurance, passenger compensation for delayed flights, etc. I haven't noticed any new features in a long while but the ads just keep increasing, including particularly aggressive ones via push message. The auto check-in feature is not very useful as it doesn't let me add the boarding pass to apple wallet, so I don't find myself using it. Best regards, Katrina ### 5/5 — Happy Long-Time User with Suggestion *2024-04-11* When it comes to trip management apps, App in the Air is my go to app. For booking hotels and flights, it’s among the best I’ve seen on a mobile app in terms of user interface. However, with the latest update, the app has randomly locked up on the main booking page. Also, I’ve seen an occasional ‘failed to load results’ error when selecting a hotel from the search results list. As either issue happens rarely, it’s a minor matter that I’m sure they can correct in future updates. As a suggestion, I’d like to see the app detail what the ‘supports loyalty program’ when booking hotels. Does that really mean that one would get the same rates and rewards points as though the booking was made direct with the hotel brand? Katrina ### 1/5 — Paid version is full of ads. *2024-03-05* This app has some useful features, but after buying a lifetime membership, the app is still bursting at the seams with advertising and promoted content. In addition, the app often invents flight data, which makes it unreliable. For example, if I book a small, internal flight while visiting Malaysia, and then that flight is delayed, the app will show the flight as being airborne while I am sitting on the ground waiting to board. The app behaves as if it has access to real-time data when it doesn't. The end result is that you never know if the app is accurate. If the developers simply admitted to not having real-time data, we would at least know when to seek other sources of information, but instead they fake it when they don't have it—a huge mistake that makes you constantly fear you're missing critical information. **Developer response:** Hello, that's Alex from the App in the Air team. Alex ### 2/5 — Lots of features, clunky design and sometimes incorrect *2024-03-02* It’s great that you have so many features but there is so much missing for the steep prince you charge. There is no monthly or weekly subscription option which is very useful for non frequent flyers (evident why this is, money > customer experience). Worst part, you get intrusive notifications even if you pay for premium and you can’t turn them off at all! Dont get this app, get Flighty or any other flight tracker and organizer instead. I wasted my money thinking there was a free trial (which is tells you there is), but it ended up just charging me. So I’m stuck with this for a year…. **Developer response:** Hi! You can also use a 14-day free trial if you are not quite sure if you need all the features that our App provides, however, I must highlight that this option is available only for one time, and if you try to take an annual subscription once again only for a 14-day trial, you will be charged immediately, which, most likely, happened to you. You can not add people (subscribe) them to receive updates regarding your travel plans. This is a huge feature of the program and I’ve been told it will be fixed soon. It’s been at least 18 months. As a Lifetime user, I’m about ready to cut my losses and try another program if AITA can’t get this fixed soon. Very disappointing. ________________________ I’ve been using AITA for years and was so impressed that I became a Lifetime paid user. I had a UI suggestion and within 12 hours, I was contacted and problem fixed. I have never had such great customer service from any company.
