I agree with most reviewers; it urgently needs an update. But I’m not holding my breath. ### 1/5 — Update the app *2017-10-30, version 2.0.20* Sony, please get on the ball and update this app. You continue to sell hardware which relies upon the use of this app, yet the app is incompatible with iOS 11. Not very fair to your customers to make us sacrifice security to use your products. I won’t buy a Sony radio again. Ever since upgrading from my iPhone 5 my Sony stereo periodically says my 6, and 6s are incompatible. This app did wonderful things, setting the time on my stereo, allowing easy setting changes for bass, treble etc. As of iOS 11 it will be completely disabled because it has never been updated from 32 to 64 bit. Now, since the last two or so iPhone updates the app doesn't work well. It doesn't pickup my Sirius radio and crashes when playing Pandora. I dropped my original rating from 3 stars to 1 because there have been zero improvements or updates to this app for way to long. Sony doesn't appear to be supporting this anymore so I'd suggest looking at a different system that doesn't use this app for stereo and phone control in your car. It's too bad because it was cool while it lasted. Now I'm considering another system but not a Sony. ### 1/5 — Don't buy SONY! No support *2015-09-29, version 2.0.20* Looks like this app is completely useless now with the latest updates of iOS. The app crashes completely so you can no longer use it. This makes my iPad dash install completely useless with the Sony head unit. It’s just a link to open the maps app on iPhone. Must not be a priority. Meanwhile my movie is endlessly looping on the menu. Would it hurt to have put a play button on the Sony bluray player as well?! I guess these guys are not that concerned with using their hardware. How could such a large company like Sony produce such a horrible app that doesn’t work. I purchased it due to the price and all of the different things it did for the price. Upon installing it I really liked it and still do. I just do not like the fact that it says it’s compatible with an iPhone app but the app is terrible. All I have on mine is the “maps” tab that opens the Apple Maps application. It never connects to my radio with Bluetooth nor USB iPhone charger. Radio is great don’t get me wrong, really works well with the Alpine and Kicker speakers I have, but the app needs to get fixed or they shouldn’t be advertising it as app compatible. ### 1/5 — Abandoned *2018-10-22, version 2.1.0* Sony abandoned this app years ago. Works! *2021-05-04, version 2.1.0* My buttons didn't work on my Sony radio. I downloaded this ap thinking it was going to be a wasted effort. Thank you for fixing my radio. Such a great ap. I recommend the aux cord as your best option on the ap. ### 5/5 — Well-designed, clean & effective *2018-03-05, version 2.1.0* I really like this application. Personally I would never have bought a SONY head unit; the previous owner of my truck installed it. I exclusively purchase ALPINE mobile media hardware. I found out about this application by accident and I enjoy its functionality. It is worth noting that I use iOS 9.3 because I can't stand iOS 10 or 11. Whether it is because of this or something else that I haven't had the issues other people speak of, I do not know, but if you use older iOS like I do you should have no problems. ### 5/5 — Update please!!!! *2017-09-21, version 2.0.20* This needs an update asap. It will not work. This is a good app, if only Sony would spend the time to update it. People use this with their phones and iPads. Even their newer radios use this app. Come on Sony update this app ASAP. Updated to work with iOS 11 It works, could use some updates to fix some things. But works with iOS 11, you can finally update your iPhone or iPad. ### 4/5 — I take the last review back *2014-04-15, version 2.0.20* Actually just got to plug it in via a USB cord for the equalizer and fade control to work. Have a sony receiver on my boat. With a powerful stereo system. Nice way to control the subwoofer base especially. Just wish Sony had a better manual with instructions.
