apparish turns your city into a haunted map. Spirits are everywhere once you look. Some drift through the streets. Some linger at the places they're bound to: the old churches, the cemeteries, the hotels. And at sites with a real haunted reputation, the legendary ones are waiting.

Walk up, raise your camera, and capture them. Every ghost has a name, a backstory, and a mood. Talk to them in real time and they'll talk back. They remember you. They have opinions.

But a ghost you ignore is a ghost you lose. Neglect one too long and it slips away, off to haunt someone who actually shows up. Other hunters walk the same streets, and your spirit could become theirs.

More control over Sightings
Photos from your captures appear in Sightings. You can now hide any of your posts, which also removes that catch from your public profile, or turn off your participation in Sightings entirely from Account settings.

Better chest rewards
Walking pays off more. Chest rewards have been increased across every tier, with chances for 2x and 4x payouts. Rarer chests are also more likely to contain spirits and charms.

Cleaner spirit pages
Spirit pages and collection cards now have a simpler layout. Share and Favorite stay front and center, while actions like narration, saving photos, hiding from Sightings, and releasing a spirit live under the ⋯ menu.

Uncover a ghost’s story
Ask a ghost how it died and you can discover a new piece of its story each day you return.

Content controls
Ghosts can use strong language by default. Prefer a cleaner experience? You can turn it off anytime under Account → Content & Safety.

### 1.7 — 2026-08-26

Everyone starts with a Sanctuary now. Your spirits have a home from your first catch, and other hunters can come haunt it from day one.

Win the minigame and the spirit is yours. No extra tap to collect. When your collection is full, you see the upgrade instead of losing the catch.

Field Assignments: three daily tasks in your away deck, tiered by how likely you are to finish them today.

Expeditions show their open slots at a glance, and a roster sheet lists who's out. Returned crews land in your notification stack with what they found.

Minigame scores read as a completion percentage, with one tick marking the score to beat.

A spirit's late-night messages are written from what's actually true tonight: the hour, the weather, where they are.

### 1.6 — 2026-08-23

Spirits come home from Sanctuary expeditions with a story. Claim the haul and read what they got up to, in their own words, right in their chat thread.

Ghost chat has a sense of place now. A spirit in your Sanctuary knows which room it's in and who it's sharing it with.

Sightings shows how a catch ended. A post carries a Released or Escaped tag when the spirit didn't stay, and a like fills in the "Liked by" row the moment you tap.

Haunting someone's Sanctuary? Leaving the minigame asks first now. If you do leave, your stake comes straight back and the Leagues board opens up again instead of showing no one to haunt for ten minutes.

The map holds up better: a brand-new area fills in on the first look instead of trickling in, no more blackouts when zoomed out, no frozen animations on iOS 27, and ghosts keep rendering when things get busy.

Minigame fixes: Phantom Maze no longer stutters or freezes, and Haunted Spire loads fully before play and its books stop snapping.
