However even though there’s strict mode, I still pause it. You can choose “hard” mode so you can’t unlock without a third party’s permission (eg choose a family member to receive an unlock email). I love this because I would always just wait for the timer to count down in the last version of the app ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Essentially a virus: *2026-08-24, version 4.11.4* Realizing that most features were locked behind a paywall, I tried to delete the app, only to find that the delete button opens the app to a screen encouraging you to stay. That’s only meant to happen on strict mode, as I understand it. Personally, messaging is the biggest time suck. I don’t need it on my iPad and that’s why an app blocker that actually blocked an app I need it to block is useful. What is with this App? Either it’s blocking things inappropriately or it’s not working at all. My only complaint is that you can get so many apps that certain screens crash, but that appears to be an Apple problem not an AppBlock problem. I was looking for a free app blocker because of my tiktok addiction and with school starting back up it’s almost impossible to go an hour without going on social media 😭 this app ACTUALLY blocks you from going on selected apps that you can choose. I keep my Pinterest open and that’s it! It has help reduce my time online and make me get out more!
