## What is AppChoices?

Control interest-based advertising on apps on your mobile device.

AppChoices gives you transparency with participating companies, and lets you limit their collection of cross-app data for interest-based ads. Brought to you by the Digital Advertising Alliance, and backed up by the DAA’s independent accountability program, AppChoices lets you opt out from interest-based advertising with a particular company, or “Choose All Companies” with one simple click.

Did you know that some of the ads you receive in apps are customized based on predictions about your interests generated from your app usage? This is called interest-based advertising (IBA). AppChoices gives you choices about whether you receive this type of advertising that is based on cross-app data collected over time across different apps and devices. 
To opt out your device ID out of IBA from a particular company, simply navigate to Device ID-Based Choice tool and set the switch next to the company’s logo from “”ON” to “OFF”. AppChoices lets you decide which, if any, participating companies deliver interest-based advertising to your device.

Using the new Token ID-Based Choice (beta) tool, you can opt out or revoke having your data collected or used for IBA linked to the email address you provide.
When it comes to ads in your apps based on your interests, it’s your choice.

Once you download the app there is no opt out option. The button it says to select is not there, I can’t opt out even though everything is already opted in. Don’t bother with this app it does no good.

This does the opposite of protecting your privacy, it instead collects data about your preferences and every app you use for targeted marketing and advertising purposes. Don’t fall for it.

Horrible ap. Vague on how to use it. Tells me “choose all” where “choose all” doesn’t even exist. Tells me I can toggle on bersus off, but the toggle does not work. Bottom line: absolutely worthless. Seems sesigned by the advertisers to mimic that ghey offer choice when they actually make it impossible to choose.

As noted by another review, you do need to turn off "ask apps not to track" for it to work (and the app prompts you to do so), but you can turn that back on after you're done with it (which will then give you an option to make this an exception, but you should be able to simply delete the app afterwards... in theory).

After reading the reviews here, I wasn't hopeful that using this app would do anything at all — so I used another app to capture the HTTPS traffic this app generates when you submit an opt-out request. To my surprise, I saw that it had actually submitted opt-out requests, with mostly JSON replies confirming success.

However, this gets three stars instead of five because this app simply shouldn't be necessary. Don't buy and sell people, advertisers; don't track and analyze our behavior, either. 

That is uncomfortably close to the German government's behavior c. 1934 — developers, reflect upon that and your life choices. Your bosses are too far gone.
