Process was easy. Waiting to see if it actually works 🤞 ### 3/5 — Can confirm this actually does work, but it shouldn't be necessary *2025-05-29, version 2.1.8* As noted by another review, you do need to turn off "ask apps not to track" for it to work (and the app prompts you to do so), but you can turn that back on after you're done with it (which will then give you an option to make this an exception, but you should be able to simply delete the app afterwards... in theory). After reading the reviews here, I wasn't hopeful that using this app would do anything at all — so I used another app to capture the HTTPS traffic this app generates when you submit an opt-out request. To my surprise, I saw that it had actually submitted opt-out requests, with mostly JSON replies confirming success. However, this gets three stars instead of five because this app simply shouldn't be necessary. Don't buy and sell people, advertisers; don't track and analyze our behavior, either. That is uncomfortably close to the German government's behavior c. 1934 — developers, reflect upon that and your life choices. Your bosses are too far gone. ### 1/5 — No I wasn’t born yesterday *2024-12-01, version 2.1.8* So to not be tracked I have to give this app the ability to track me? None of my apps have permission to track me. The one created by and for those who are the reason we in this mess of personal data being harvested without our knowledge and being tracked by advertisers not only across site but learned the things they collected on us I’m sorry it’s gonna be harder to do your job cause I’m not letting you have free access to my life. ### 1/5 — Does Not Work - at all *2024-10-17, version 2.1.8* Does not work at all. Says you can toggle opt outs from on to off but does not have that feature to allow it. The only thing this app does is allow you to see all the tracking sites but not do anything about the requests - junk app - please fix. The instructions tell you to toggle the on/off switch next to each of the companies listed, but there is no switch. It just says “On,” and when you click on it, it takes you to a page with a short description of the company and a link to their website. There is literally no way to interact with any of the features and half the buttons/links just aren’t responsive at all. They could have hired a 14-year-old Minecraft player to create this app and gotten a better finished product. It doesn’t do anything but humiliate and aggravate. ### 1/5 — REALLY? WHY? TRASHY… *2023-12-06, version 2.1.6* Why do we have to keep downloading all of these apps to control our lives and privacy. I don’t understand these apps or their intentional confusing lingo. But I don’t think that by downloading these apps I’m helping anything, because now I’ve went and allowed or downloaded their (spyware) on my phone. Whatever California did to protect their citizens privacy needs to be done nationwide. Because I’m 98% sure that the people who created these trashy data stealing and ad targeting software live in California. That’s how they protect their data and their families from the same data stealing practices that they created. Well I think this app is trash and I also think cell phone companies (all of them) who sell their customers data are TRASH PEOPLE that should be held responsible for data theft. BTW Don’t forget to click on (Do Not Sale or Share my Data) on your phone companies website or app the next time you’re happily paying your bill or trying to get someone to help you. I requested to opt out of all. Only 39 companies allowed me to opt out of receiving their ads. You do the math. 230 companies denied me the right to opt out of seeing their ads. You literally cannot opt out at all. What a waste of time. If it helps reduce creepy targeted ads I’m all for it. There are numerous 1 star reviews, some may be attributed to expectations of ad-blocking.
