### 2/5 — No longer works for coparent

*2026-08-13, version 3.4.77*

I guess it is no longer android friendly with the new update? It’s no longer working for the coparent and the customer service is getting him nowhere on fixing it. So we’ve been paying for nothing because he can’t even see my messages. It tells him to subscribe again and when he tries to subscribe again it says he’s already subscribed. Please do better on the customer service side of things and help fix the problem or at least reimburse us for our wasted subscription.

### 2/5 — Needs updating

*2026-08-12, version 3.4.77*

Too often, this app does not let you know messages are waiting.
The app needs to be useable for the chat feature on smart watches. It would be so much handier and better.
Also the chat feature can load slow and make images hard to view.

### 2/5 — Inconsistent notifications

*2026-08-07, version 3.4.77*

I don’t get consistent notifications for messages - often I only see a message has been sent if I open the app and go into messages, and only then does it pull the new message through. This is obviously concerning given it is my only method of communication with my children’s father when he has them. I’ve contacted support repeatedly and am told to update my phone or the app but nothing changes.

### 2/5 — iPad app needs horizontal view support!

*2026-07-28, version 3.4.77*

I use an iPad with a keyboard, and there’s no way to rotate the view from locked-in portrait to landscape view, so the app is unable with iPads using external keyboards in landscape mode.

### 2/5 — Can’t get the video recorded calls downloaded

*2026-07-27, version 3.4.77*

So I got this app and I’m super happy with it except one thing and you can’t get a hold of anybody. It says that your calls are being recorded and you’re able to have access to those recorded video calls and I cannot. I have reached out to Support and all I can do is get a PDF version of the call log history or the text message. This is very frustrating because I had a recent phone call that I’m trying to send to my attorney and I cannot send it.! there needs to be somebody that people can can talk to a live person to get this taken care!

### 4/5 — Helpful

*2026-07-22, version 3.4.77*

The app is great and very customizable. I’m able to use it as a shared coparent calendar as well as my own personal calendar. My only issue is that some of the settings are genuinely pretty difficult to figure out. There are FAQs on the site that ultimately helped but we had a lot of confusion getting the shared coparenting settings how they should be. That could really pose serious problems for people who are coparenting and not getting along. It took both my coparent and I to figure out the settings and thankfully we are able to cooperate together.

But I do like the app overall

### 1/5 — AppClose reliability

*2026-07-16, version 3.4.77*

Just a heads up to anyone using this app if for some reason you are not using the app for 6 months the app can terminate your account without notice.. this had happened to me there’s important conversations that I had and all of the sudden with no explanation my account and all my messages are gone. The frustrating part is that trying to talk to customer service about the matter they don’t give me a proper explanation to this.. so if you have messages that you are planning to use in a potential future case be careful be this app can close and delete those messages after 6 months of not using the app

### 1/5 — Sucks

*2026-07-11, version 3.4.77*

This app sucks not a fan. Confusing and can’t get anything done cost way to much it was free now pay to much

### 1/5 — Deletes information

*2026-07-11, version 3.4.77*

I put all my daughters doctors and the app and it deleted all the information. No I have to input all that information again

### 1/5 — 2 years and still the facetime don't work unless your on WiFi. Unless app

*2026-07-11, version 3.4.77*

Useless for facetime

### 2/5 — Very Frustrating

*2026-07-10, version 3.4.76*

I pay for the subscription and yet half the time can’t track when drop-offs or pick-ups occur because the app acts like I don’t have a subscription when I go to create a new log. People rely on these things for family court, and pay for these services for a reason.

### 1/5 — Zero customer service

*2026-07-09, version 3.4.76*

I have court orders to use this app and have been unable to access it for 7 days and counting.

I’ve raised 4 support tickets

I get generic replies for support and asked questions from them I’ve already answered.

When they cant help they just stop replying.

No one replies or updates about the issue and if i follow up the response is “timing varies”

It’s not good enough why can’t they send a verification text

I wish i could give 0 stars

### 3/5 — It’s Ok I Suppose…

*2026-07-08, version 3.4.76*

This app is OK, I’m only using it because the court told me I had to, if I wasn’t order to by the court, I wouldn’t be using it. But anyways, here is my review of this app. The messaging system is pretty straightforward. You send messages back and forth like you would on iMessage or any other messaging platform. It’s all recorded in the AppClose App, but I have seen that you have a time limit where if you don’t download the files in a certain amount of time, they just delete. That’s pretty inconvenient if you need them files, what if you need to go to court again and need them files? Also, I was told by the judge that this app was free with no subscription, which is obviously false.

I have a few recommendations for the app. First off, don’t delete the message, audio files, and check in information after a period of time. Second I think you guys should add a voicemail feature.

### 1/5 — AppClose reliability

### 1/5 — No good for high conflict!

*2026-06-28, version 3.4.76*

I continue to have issues with this app, when you have a high conflict coparent, they sometimes are irresponsible and will make multiple different accounts getting locked out and not paying then you can’t join in one chat making records all over the place. Then it closes the coparents old account preventing you from continuing to go through it and bookmark, doesn’t allow you add a new coparent after a few times of the coparents going through this so not there is no way for coparent to access the calender - as it does not allow option for new “user”. Only allows inside chat. And yes I have gone through the steps. The calenders are absolutely confusing and prettt much useless. The majority of people use Apple devices, why not make the calender similar to the same format and not so squishy and hard to find everything and organize?
Additionally, ipay U is not even included in Canada. Finding anything is a disaster and so time consuming! Who has that time. Should be formatted in a way that can be organized for court. When you’re in a post seperational abusive relationship- and trying to navigate keeping your kids safe- the goal should be to make things less stressful. I will be searching for something else to present at new court date.

### 3/5 — Not as great now that it’s not free

*2026-06-26, version 3.4.76*

I chose this app years ago for its functionality while still being free, as I didn’t know what my life was going to be like post-divorce. The app is pretty cumbersome. Needing a lot of clicks to add an expense, which is now what I use it the most for. I’d love to see the ability to have repeating expenses (like medical insurance, allowance, or phone bills that don’t change every month) to decrease my workload of tracking expenses, as that alone takes a lot of mental workload for me on a monthly basis. Or at least autofill some things when it sees that I’m typing on something familiar. It does have all the scheduling capabilities, and syncs well with my iCal, so I give it another star for that, but we do not use this for that function. Now that it is a paid app, the things that make it cumbersome will have me looking at other apps to see if they are more streamlined. My ex didn’t even want to start paying for this one, but I wasn’t ready to figure out a new method to get reimbursed for all of my expenses.

### 1/5 — Not worth the trouble even when it’s free

*2026-06-21, version 3.4.76*

Difficult to use, when you try to add an agreed parenting schedule the calendar does not reflect the addition correctly. Tried this app to see my schedule months ahead since it was free but now they want to you to pay for it. Deleted this app and am using the native iOS calendar with no errors and is so much easier to use.

### 1/5 — No comment

*2026-06-18, version 3.4.76*

Equifax breach was in 2017.

### 3/5 — It works OK

*2026-06-13, version 3.4.76*

I wish you could change notification sounds or something and my other issue is half the time I don’t get notifications from my ex send me a message. They need to figure out how to do something with the notifications.

### 1/5 — Worse Than Free Alternatives

*2026-06-09, version 3.4.76*

This app is absolutely terrible. The video chat feature is painfully slow and unreliable. Every time I try to start a video call, I end up waiting 10–15 seconds before the video even begins to work—if it works at all. It’s unbelievable that anyone would expect people to pay for this when free apps like FaceTime and WhatsApp perform dramatically better.

The app feels buggy, outdated, and frustrating to use. One of the most annoying issues is the notification system. No matter what I do, message notifications refuse to clear, even after I’ve read every message. The badges just sit there permanently, constantly grabbing my attention and making it look like I have unread messages when I don’t.

Paying for an app that performs worse than free alternatives is ridiculous. This app is a complete waste of money and one of the most frustrating apps I’ve ever used. If I could delete it from existence and never deal with it again, I would.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not receiving notifications

*2026-08-04, version 3.4.77*

My app won’t send me notifications if the other guardian is texting me and when it does, it doesn’t show the text message. It only pops up I tried sending email several times got no response

### 1/5 — Doesnt work, no customer support

*2026-08-04, version 3.4.77*

I paid for the app and it doesn’t let either parent authorize calls/video let alone authorize recorded calls video. Emailed customer support and haven’t had any response.

### 1/5 — 10/10 it’s a No for me.

*2026-08-04, version 3.4.77*

This app is absurd. When you have it set to record calls they are seemingly impossible to access unless you’re in a “circle” which the other party can deny. Also, if not in a circle you can’t see billing info! How the 2 are related is anyone’s guess. They happily take my money each month and it takes weeks to sort out a problem, including resending emails multiple times to try & get support but that’s rather non existent. Really awful to be locked into this by the court and there’s so many issues. DO BETTER you have income now.

### 1/5 — Poor Customer Support

*2026-07-31, version 3.4.77*

Horrible app, and even worse customer support.

I’ve been having a bug issue for over a month, related to notifications. I contacted AppClose directly for customer support. After providing them with all relevant info that they asked for, the issue has still not been resolved. I followed up with them, and all I received is a canned, generic response. No resolution or update to my issue, even though they promise to “fix any issues right away”, as explained in the App Store. I don’t understand the delay or the lack of customer support.

Here is the canned, generic response I received: “We sincerely apologize for the delay in providing a solution. We understand the inconvenience this has caused and are actively working to resolve the issue.” Translation: We don’t care about the issues you’re experiencing, and are unable to provide a resolution. We do not value you as a customer.

Looking at other customer reviews, there seems to be a common theme. Too many bugs, not enough support.

My advice, if you are a parent looking for a co-parenting app, especially if it’s going to be court-ordered, look elsewhere. Recommend a different app to be used with the court, citing that AppClose has too many bugs and does not provide adequate customer support. Buyers beware!

It seems this company bit off more than it can chew.

### 1/5 — Limited Support

*2026-07-30, version 3.4.77*

Issue clearing notifications. Support is non existent. Probably will get a response it’s my device not the app and hundred of thousands people use it with no issues. Read the comments… They don’t care about the user, it’s a money grab. Uninstall reinstall doesn’t help. No bulk notification clear all button. Development request ignored and instead you get a response we are the #1 app ordered by courts.

Dishonest business model if ask me. Make it free, give it to everyone, get it court ordered. Once we get enough users of the free product hit them with a price tag because guess what? A huge chunk of the user base is locked in by court order. Which explains why they don’t care about the end user. They say they work with low income families and throw out random #s of discounts gave with no data to back it.

Anyway if someone has the option to read reviews on App Close before they are court order, I would suggest exploring other options. The price for this app is basically what the other apps charge.

### 1/5 — Updates broke the app

*2026-07-27, version 3.4.77*

All calls now need to be finagled in order to get the speaker phone to work.
They make it impossible for Military/low income families to sign up for the free version by never responding to emails, or redirecting you in a roundabout, or they keep asking you for random document after random document and when you submit that document, it’s not the right document that they need. They keep this up until you give up.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-07-24, version 3.4.77*

I have used for several years. AppClose automatically creates a file on your iPhone and automatically saves files. There’s no option for permissions. There’s no options to stop it. The only options are for you to save it directly to your phone or to the iCloud. It is generating a thumbnail photo every few and saving it to my phone. It has been doing this for years. There are now over 10,000 files on my phone and I am not able to delete the folder.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2026-07-18, version 3.4.77*

This app used to be great when it was free, but they became greedy and started charging. Unfortunately, quality doesn’t justify the price. Calls drops constantly, and I often have to send the same text multiple times before it finally goes through. For a paid service, I expect basic reliability.

### 1/5 — Terrible functionality and accessibility

*2026-07-18, version 3.4.77*

This app is the least helpful of all the coparenting apps. I’m not sure what I’m paying for. It requires 2-factor authentication for every payment or reimbursement rather than using a passkey like any other app taking payments. It is not Siri-enabled so you have to pull over just to write a text message rather than talk-to-text. How these people are able to charge for this is completely beyond me.

### 1/5 — unresolved issues proceeding

*2026-07-18, version 3.4.77*

I have not had a problem with this app up until the last week. After repeated attempts to work with customer support through email. I have not gotten a reply back in over three days. This is the only means that I have to communicate with my youngest child. And have viable information needed throughout the transcripts that I am unable to access because my account has disappeared. I verified my email through the customer support and have confirmed that both my phone and application are up-to-date with no resolution.

But the best part is as they were not late excepting the money for the subscription that I am unable to access at all. This is a court ordered app for coparenting that does not have a proper customer support function and or the ability to address the issues at hand within a timely and prompt manner.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very Good

*2026-05-31, version 3.4.75*

The app is very functional and I love the ability to export official timestamped records so easily.

I would really love a dedicated Parenting Log feature. I know you can add notes in the calendar feature but I would love it's own built in log feature where you can quickly add certain things you want to track and create records of (ie. school times, activities, meals, wake and sleep times, medications, potty training, behavioral concerns, etc.). So that each day pre-fills with what you want to track and you can quickly input the values. It would make high conflict co-parenting much easier to have the extra data all in the same place.

Some feedback - When exporting chat reports, any documents sent in chat only display the first page of the document in the records. It would be nice to have the option to choose to include all pages in the export. Also when sending documents, it would be nice to be able to review or add one extra stop to make sure you are ready to send. I would like the option to send groups of files rather than one at a time.

Also, small problem - I don't know if it's something I've done but I have a notification that will not go away no matter how many times I click on view event. The calendar is still a bit confusing for me and even though it says it can be private I still am unsure what is viewable by the other party.

It is an excellent app however and I do prefer it over its competitors.

### 5/5 — AJ

*2026-05-26, version 3.4.74*

Love the app it is very helpful, it needs a pin on messages so children calling the other parent can’t read adult messages. Or a child friendly call function. This will put the app at the top of the game for parenting apps

### 5/5 — no complaints

*2026-05-03, version 3.4.73*

really helps keep track of everything

### 5/5 — Features and customer service

*2026-04-16, version 3.4.73*

This is a great app with many helpful feature such as being able to print messages and make video calls. Customer service was also great to work with

### 5/5 — Alex

### 5/5 — A lot of features, I don’t really understand how to use

*2026-01-13, version 3.4.7*

There’s a lot going on I wish features were more accessible, but this application makes it easier to communicate with my coparent and keep track of her shenanigans

### 5/5 — Momof3

*2025-12-26, version 3.4.6.1*

This app is wonderful! The amount of features offered are unmatched and have worked very well for me in the last 4 years. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Suitable and Sustainable

*2025-12-24, version 3.4.6.1*

App is well worked, easy to use and is reliable for the cost.

### 5/5 — We will see

*2025-12-21, version 3.4.6.1*

Better be all it’s cracked up to be…. Trust no one.

### 5/5 — So Effective

*2025-10-24, version 3.4.3*

The perfect app to remain as grey rock with your ex as you can be when getting business handled. Easy pay options, able to print or download conversations if needed for court. Very easy to navigate.
