I want more from the rest of the world. ### 4/5 — So Close to Perfect *2026-09-02, version 4.10* I’ve used this app for years now and don’t see myself using any other app. The subscription gives me magazines, and the articles I have access to without hitting another paywall make it all worth it. However, somehow after the ads were introduced I’ve had glitch’s once I scrolled past while reading. It jumps me a few paragraphs forward, and it’s happenings frequently now that I find it frustrating to use the app at times. This is remedied if I go to my tablet, but who wants to carry that around all the time? ### 3/5 — More variety *2026-09-02, version 4.10* This app has a glitch that causes the screen to jump pages ahead while reading a story and also while scrolling through the main page. Please fix the glitch! It also has a lot of repetition in the stories it presents. Please fix the algorithm. I would like to be exposed to new stories rather than repeating the same things I have already read over and over. You can do much better Apple. Especially considering that I pay for the service. Can't ay for so many separate sources. ### 2/5 — Grouped Articles Often Wrong *2026-09-01, version 4.10* For the most part it’s ok but I wouldn’t pay for it if I didn’t have Apple One. My biggest complaint is that their software that groups articles into categories is often wrong. For example I follow the Star Trek feed but when they show grouped suggestions there is often one or two totally unrelated articles in the group. It seems to like Dancing With the Stars so maybe their AI bot just throws anything with “star” in the text into the Star Trek category. Weird and annoying. I hope someone at Apple will see this and fix it. ### 3/5 — Great to have subscriptions included but needs more diversity *2026-09-01, version 4.10* It’s more a problem with our entire media ecosystem than with Apple News specifically, but the lack of diversity in the news feed in really pretty stark, especially ever since the Telegraph came on board. It’d be great to see Apple doing more to support quality independent journalism and bring a greater range of local, human authored, well researched writing in, with accurate headlines that honestly describe the stories they represent. ### 4/5 — Great. This has been a problem for a long time. I pay good money for News+ and I love it but for this. It makes me lose my place every article because it will suddenly jump to a different location as a I scroll. I already took a mortgage out to afford the iPhone plus paying for Verizon’s astronomical fees for a service that’s subpar at best. Either be subscription or don’t but don’t play both sides of the fence. This site is the epitome of what is wrong with journalism or lack there of. Almost impossible to be informed here. I say almost because once in 2018 I actually saw something that appeared to be an ad but was actually a well thought out article with very little bias. This is the perfect place to create your own echo chamber. Once it sees what you like they’ll peg you right or left wing and shove that content and only that content in your feed. That it’s an opinion needs to be stated in large type above the headline it rarely is. A majority of the opinions and news stories do seem to reflect Apple’s liberal world view as well. That said that in no way prevents Apple from merchandizing most aspects of the service it’s an infomercial on steroids! Some of the “news outlets” Apple shills for post “news” that is very agenda driven or just plain opinion and from a factual point is very poorly written. ### 1/5 — Apple News Sucks *2026-08-30, version 4.10* Apple relies too heavily on AI and it’s ruining the experience. Apple News Plus articles and ads take up more screen real estate than actual articles I can read without paying a subscription, and many of those articles aren’t even news. I don’t care about what a mechanic thinks about someone’s car. I don’t care about my vaginal micro-biome because I don’t have one. I’m a man.
