## What is Apprentices?

Apprentices is for the small group that wants more than a weekly meeting. It gives your group a way to walk one person at a time down past the behavior they keep confessing, to the lie underneath it, and to stay with them while it heals.

At each gathering the app runs a guided workshop, and your group handles follow-up and prayer in whatever order suits it. The workshop walks five layers together: Behavior, Emotion, Idol, Gospel Truth, and Commitment. Discernment cards help the group decide when to move deeper, when to stay, and when to step back.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.4.1 — 2026-10-05

Workshops can now be 30 minutes. Leaders set the length in Group Settings.

The layer timer now fits the length you choose: Gospel Truth gets about 6 minutes and Commitment about 3, and the first three layers share the rest.

### 1.4 — 2026-10-02

The app now runs only the workshop. Your group does follow-up and prayer whenever it suits you, before the workshop or after it. Tap Start workshop and you're straight in.

Review your group's commitments any time from the Gathering tab.

Leaders can set the workshop length in Group Settings, and every phone's timer matches it.

Start a new group from More, under Switch or Start a Group.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-24

Your commitment now comes to your own phone. When your group builds a commitment with you, it arrives on your phone with your reminders, instead of staying on the phone that ran the workshop. Everyone in the group can see the group's commitments.

A week before your turn in the hotseat, the app asks what you want to work on. Your answer opens your workshop.

Leaders can set the hotseat order, and everyone can see who is up next.

At six weeks, disciplers get suggestions for what to say next, and apprentices are asked how this attempt compares with earlier ones.

One less step when building a commitment: your discipler is also your check-in partner.
