First off, I need to download an app to the washing machine in a dryer? This is ridiculous… Second whenever the machine has an error you forfeit all your money. Support is useless and non-responsive. Horrible experience and never want to use this ever again.

If you want a company that does not care if their machines work or not, this is the company to you! They over charge their cycles and have machines they will barely do any maintenance on if they are not working. Oh, and did I mention that sometimes they will just not refund you? Terrible business practice. A true disappointment.

Is this really where we’re at, as a society? I need an app to use a washing machine? Please, genius who made this piece of garbage, tell me one thing that was ever wrong with coin operated laundry. 

I am not saying there’s anything specifically wrong with this app, which a better app might improve upon (though to be fair, I’ve been “running a machine” for 20 minutes, and nothing has happened). I’m saying entire concept is ridiculous. 

What motivations did these people have, to come up with a tech-based “solution” to something that was never a problem in the first place? What start-up grant, funded by which taxpayers, was allocated for the sake of leaving me here in this hospital-lit hostel laundry room, with the fate of my socks depending on how efficiently “laundry support” can respond to my in-app message? Are we doomed forever—by some inexorable law of capital/history—to languish beneath the idiotic maxim of “If you CAN make something controlled by an app (which I, still sockless, remain unconvinced of in this case), you SHOULD?” These are the things I have time to wonder about, as I await a response from laundry support.

In conclusion: does the app wash your clothes?  In my experience, no. But does the app raise several morbidly fascinating questions about the state and direction of modern capitalism? Certainly. For that, I give it 2 (instead of 0) stars.

its incredible to think that this multimillion dollar giant can do such a poor job with a system like this. In just a few months, 3 separate instances of the app taking my money without being able to start the programme happened. Their support does such a poor job too, they do answer and issue refunds but after a good few hours of having your clothing stuck in the machine.

I topped up my balance with the min of €20, the charge went through on my credit card but in the app it says top up pending and my balance hasn’t gone up. So they basically stole the €20

Using this app is as easy as it gets. The only thing I don’t understand is why on earth does the app not have links to the PDFs of quick start manuals of all their washers and dryers so one can take full advantage of the machines’ capabilities and be sure what all the buttons (-/<—>/+) and indicators (e.g. “PC”..?) mean, and to make sure I’m not doing anything dumb using a machine I have not used before..?

the interface of the new design looks nice, but prioritizes looks over usability. on the page where you choose your washing machine, the list of washing machines used to go across the whole screen. now they’re inside little text bubbles in a frame, way too small and difficult to read quickly. also PLEASE put the machines list back in numerical order. there are so many machines and it’s so hard to find the right one when the list isn’t in order. I don’t want all of the available ones at the top if it means they are all out of order. also, please add ability to save my payment method. right now I have to go all the way back to my apartment to get my physical card to type in the numbers if I want to top up the app.

An sich ist die App einfach zu bedienen und tut was sie soll. Der Kundenservice war bei einer fehlerhaften Abbuchung auch super schnell. Ich würde mir aber wünschen, dass ein geringerer Aufladebetrag möglich ist. Auch wäre es super, wenn die Uhranzeige für den Waschvorgang rückwärts laufen würde, anstatt wie aktuell hoch. So kann man immer nicht genau sagen, wann die Wäsche denn fertig ist.

An sich funktioniert die App gut aber anstatt zu sehen seit wann die App läuft wäre es gut zu wissen wie lange sie noch läuft da es zeitlich je nach Waschprogramm ja Unterschiede geben kann. Da hilft es nicht zu sehen dass die Maschine seit 18min läuft. Auch sollte die Maschine erst wieder als „verfügbar“ markiert sein, wenn die Wäsche tatsächlich rausgenommen wurde damit man nicht zum Waschraum läuft und vor einer vollen Maschine steht. 
Das sind schon wesentliche Punkte die die Nutzung angenehmer machen würden
Wenn das noch drin wäre wäre sie top.

No matter if you pay for the longest program, your clothes will be ready in approx 30 min. However, they will charge you as if they were in the machine for 1h.

App is broken and there is no possibility of contacting real customer support. There is a ‘chat’ option but Every time it is the same automated message.

I used appwash for the first time today, and the dryer didn’t fully dry my clothes. Everything was still damp and there was water in the dryer. So I put it back in the dryer to run it through again, but after I paid for a second dry, the dryer stopped because “my clothing was too dry”. So I tried in another dryer, which also refused to dry my wet clothing. So I took my clothes out and gave up. The app took my money and when I contacted support for a refund they said I can only get a refund if I put my clothes in another dryer right afterwards. But I already did that and they both refused to keep drying my wet clothing. 6 hours later they finally refunded me, but I still ended up paying for the initial dry that didn’t work. 
Also, the app is clunky and slow. Every time I do anything on the app it takes time to load. I dislike having to bring my phone with me when I do laundry. Frankly, I don’t know why app controlled laundry has to exist at all. 1 star because I can’t give 0.

the machines never work properly, especially the dryers. no matter the amount of clothes, they always come out rather damp, borderline wet. it always finishes earlier than stated on the machine, especially when you start the second cycle of drying which should be “free” when you claim the first machine was not working well. but if it lasts 20 minutes less than it is supposed to (out of 35 minutes by the way) is it really free? i always end up having to dry my clothes in my room! the washing machines just stop working sometimes in the middle of the wash and you don’t get notified for it, so you only notice when it tells you the cycle is done. i also remember first time i used it, the machine would not start, it was hard to get my money back because assistance took so long to reply and I ended up wasting detergent and softener as well. and that was not the only instance that happened! also, some of them are more often out of service than working! i really cannot wait to not have to use these machines anymore.

J’utilise cette application faute d’autre option pour laver mon linge à la résidence Les Estudines à Toulouse. Malheureusement, les machines sont dans un état lamentable : filtres jamais nettoyés, erreurs de capteurs à répétition, bacs à lessive crasseux… Et je ne parle même pas du linge malodorant laissé par certains utilisateurs. C’est aberrant de devoir payer pour un service aussi mal entretenu.

Why do you need €20 of my money for a €6 wash, allow for your app just to take what is needed, don’t be greedy. I bet you make a lot of money from people forgetting you have their money on your app. You may think you’re making money, but I bet there are a lot of people like me that decide to wash clothes with your app, I would rather wait and take my washing home with me. You’re losing customers.

I downloaded the APP (iOS) and proceeded to try to start the machine. It wouldn’t let me unless I had a credit. I put 20 Euros into my account and paid the 3,25 to start the machine - The APP told me the machine had started - but the machine had not. I left and came back after the APP told me it was finished - The laundry detergent was still undissolved in the machine and the clothes were dry. It had not done what it said it would do. I contacted support with several messages - as the APP doesn’t allow to start a new sentence without hitting enter (there is no return on the APP). No answers! It has been an hour since I sent the help (SUPPORT) messages and NOTHING - NOT A SINGLE RESPONSE! I’m out 20 EUROs and I have this stupid useless APP on my devices! WHAT A DISSERVICE!

Après plusieurs années d’utilisation, je trouve que lappli fonctionne bien , les machines réagissent rapidement et surtout en cas de soucis technique le SAV est très réactif et ça c’est top!
Au début il y avait des décalages et des bugs mais ça fait plaisir de voir qu’ils ont été corrigés au fur et à mesure

Used this app at Dotcampus Roma City. It works much like parking apps in the U.S. Each washer and dryer has its own ID, making it easy to select and pay for the machine you want to use.

The cost was EUR 3.50 for a wash cycle and EUR 2.00 for drying. The app accepts several payment methods, including Apple Pay. If you have a remaining balance after use, you can request a refund and the money is returned to your original payment method.
PS: if you experience a problem with the machines and there is no local support at the hotel you are doomed.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews about how you can’t get your money back. Yes the initial top up amount is high I guess, at around £20, but you can get any remaining balance back easily with two taps in the app. 

I used this in a hotel in Copenhagen and it was really easy. Add money to the app, select your machine in the app, select your program on the machine and then press start. It couldn’t be easier! You even get an email to say when you’re washing is ready.

Ist zwar meckern auf hohem Niveau, aber ich persönlich finde den blassen Grünton von etwaigen Buttons in der App etwas verwirrend, da ich v.A. anfangs erstmal intuitiv (vermutlich durch Gewohnheit aus anderen Anwendungen) dachte, ich könnte z.B. den „Weiter“-Button noch nicht betätigen, weil irgendeine Eingabe bei der Registrierung fehlt…
Mit einem etwas satteren Grün wäre also alles prima👍

Ich habe Appwash heute zum ersten Mal probiert: alles lief so wie es sollte.
Aufladung per Apple Pay einfach und problemlos. Start von Waschmaschine und Trockner im Waschsalon via App reibungslos und schnell. Etwa fünf Sekunden, nachdem die Geräte fertig waren, kamen auch schon die Push-Nachrichten aufs iPhone, dass ich die Wäsche entnehmen kann.
In der App oder auf der Appwash-Website werden alle Wasch- und Trockenvorgänge transparent und detailliert gespeichert.

Trotzdem ein kleiner „Wunschzettel“: bitte „Pay per wash“, also Bezahlung pro Waschen und Trocknen. So muss man kein Geld zunächst ungenutzt auf fremden Konten parken, zudem lassen sich die 20 € Mindestaufladebetrag nicht immer unbedingt glatt durch Wasch-/Trockenbuchungen teilen.
