## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Too fast

*2024-10-23*

I have apraxia and talk slowly and this program is for people who have apraxia and regular rate of speed

**Developer response:** Thank you for using the app. This app is for anyone with apraxia. The rate of speech can be slowed down.

### 1/5 — No exercise to practice sound each letter makes.

*2021-09-21*

Person that this app intended for needs to vocalize simple one syllable/short & long vowel sounds, but this app forces person to parrot entire alphabet with zero exercises that would allow the person to vocalize the sound each letter makes.

**Developer response:** I'm sorry you didn't find what you were looking for in our app. This app does not have individual sounds or short words to practice. The alphabet is presented as a familiar sequence to recite, not as sounds to practice. There are other apps available from other developers that do this. Our app is designed for people who have mastered individual sounds and need to work on longer words or phrases. However, if you turn off all but the Words step in the Sequences and select Alphabet, you can touch each letter individually to hear and see it pronounced. If you would like a refund, please request one from Apple or contact us for instructions. We do not want people spending money on the wrong apps. This is why we offer free Lite versions of our apps to try and are available to answer any question before or after purchase through email support. Wishing you and your loved one the best in their recovery.

### 2/5 — Overpriced, just utilize YouTube or other free to use programs for same experience as the paid versi

*2025-03-03*

The app operates properly. But the limited amount of content does NOT deserve the stocker price. Shame on you for finessing people affected by apraxia and aphasia.

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. The app contains 110 conversational phrases, 60 long words, and 5 automatic sequences altogether for a one time payment of US$25 (not a subscription). It's developed by speech therapists to incorporate evidence-based techniques to help, and can be used offline. We offer a free Lite version for people to download first so they can try it out without paying, just to make sure it's right for them. We offer help for those that need financial assistance because of their situation. We do not take advantage of anyone.

### 3/5 — SLP

Love the concept! Have you considered using more mature male and female voices to match the stroke demographic?

**Developer response:** Thanks for using it! The model/voice is an adult woman, but the sing-song quality is intentional, based on research for using rhythm and melody to help with speech production in stroke survivors. People generally have a preference for looking at younger mouths/faces as models. We do consider all of these things carefully when making the apps. If you have other feedback, please email us anytime. We love hearing from our users!

### 4/5 — Great cues

*2020-07-27*

Please consider a version allowing for more customization. I’d LOVE to be able to record my own audio and video clips. Especially in a time where I need to wear face covering with all my clients.

**Developer response:** Thanks for reviewing the app! Customization would be a great additional feature. We're working on creating something that will help with this, but in the meantime, you may be able to record yourself using the CIips app with captions to practice script training or repeating phrases.

### 5/5 — Apraxia Therapy

Good and the more practice, even better

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate it!

### 5/5 — My new favourite app

*2021-04-26*

I have finally found an app that helps with my particular disability so thank you.

**Developer response:** We're so glad to hear that our app is helping you! Thank you for the kind review.

### 5/5 — The saying words was lots easier.

**Developer response:** So glad the app is helping you! Thanks for leaving the positive feedback. All the best!

### 5/5 — Recommended by our speech therapist

*2020-06-30*

We are at the beginning of our speech therapy journey and have found this app to be a valuable tool. It was recommended by our speech therapist. I was concerned that my partner wouldn’t be interested or willing to practice using an app. I have been pleasantly surprised as he has been using it nearly everyday for the last few weeks. We have already noticed a shift in his confidence and pronunciation and we haven’t started speech therapy yet!

We like the way the app can be attached to a speaker for better sound. We use the app on an iPad which can have a very tinny sound. It is important to have good sound when you have Aphasia.

There is a good variety of exercises, words and phrases all spoken slowly and clearly. The visual of the word mouthing is very helpful, as is the repetitive nature of each exercise and the recording of the user. We look forward to sending the recording via email to our speech therapist once our therapy begins in a few weeks.

We highly recommend this app and look forward to purchasing the Tactus Language app once we are ready to advance. We have tried the Lite version of Tactus Language and it looks great.

Also, we have found that the staff at Tactus are very helpful and responsive. We had an issue with Bluetooth and they fixed the issue within 48 hours.

Well done Tactus! These are valuable resources for people with Aphasia.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your kind feedback! We're thrilled to hear that your partner is improving with this app, and we're so glad you notified us about the Bluetooth issue so we could fix it. Good luck with speech therapy - all the best to you both!

### 5/5 — Tacitus app

*2017-09-06*

I have an a issue with this app. From the beginning I cannot hear my voice on the microphone playback the words. Can it be fixed? Thank you

**Developer response:** For technical support, please contact us at info@tactustherapy.com so we can address your issue directly. The record and playback works well if you have your microphone access enabled and mute-lock off. We're happy to help via email.

It is great to finally get my hands on a great, well-developed app for apraxia! I am using with a non-verbal adult who has begun to make amazing progress since starting with the app. The app has him motivated to "try" again!
