## What is aPrehliadky?

aPrehliadky is a photogrammetric 3D scanner for bodies and objects, built for forensic and medical documentation. It was created for post-mortem examinations, but handles a living person or an object — a stone, a tool, a trace — just as well.

WHAT IT DOES
• Capture with LiDAR: depth and gravity for every frame. The measurement scale comes from the metric camera path (LiDAR + IMU) and the target triangulated in the model — a photogrammetry model is not in metres by itself; every measurement carries ± U (k = 2).
• Reconstruction runs entirely on the device (RealityKit Object Capture) — no upload, no cloud, no account. Classical photogrammetry: no NeRF, 3D Gaussian Splatting or AI-completed geometry — the model is built only from captured data and the report states this explicitly.
• Virtual examination: rotate, zoom, preset views, 1 : 1 view in space (AR).
• Measure: distance (straight line), path along the surface — it follows an uneven, curved surface (wound length, circumference), area (bruise) and volume. Units mm, cm, dm, m, inches and feet with exact conversion; the package always stores mm. A reference of known length verifies the scale.
• Findings on the model: numbered pins with a type (injury, mark, livor mortis, sample) and description; movable, editable.
• Printable calibration target T3 (A4 landscape): circular fiducials found even from 2 m and triangulated in the model (15 known distances), mm scales, grey row, ColorChecker Mini cut-out, caliper print check; several targets as a control network. T2 still works.
• PDF report: case, examiner, capture parameters, method statement, scale verification, findings, measurements, integrity and the SHA-256 of the model.
• 3D documentation certificate: class A–D by the independent routes that substantiate the scale, capture trace, scale verification with uncertainty, hashes, signature and a QR code.
• .f3d package with a SHA-256 of every file and the certificate — the recipient sees on import whether the package was modified. Archive for the case file.
• Reconstruction extent: subject / subject with surroundings / whole scene — the position of a body in a room is a finding in itself.
• Surroundings from LiDAR: the room mesh measured by LiDAR during capture (floor, walls, ceiling, table, door…) as a second, metric, untextured model with nothing filled in — distances of the body from walls and objects, its own findings and measurements, SHA-256 in the report.
• Scan sound: the pitch rises with coverage; themes Bridge, Cosmic, Classic or no sound.

FOR WHOM
Forensic pathologists, examining physicians, pathologists, crime-scene technicians, expert witnesses. aPrehliadky is designed as a possible add-on to ePrehliadky (the software of the Slovak Health Care Surveillance Authority, ÚDZS): the 3D documentation is attached to the record as a package, a report and a certificate. aPrehliadky is an independent app by the author, not a product of ÚDZS.

PRIVACY
The app has no network layer. Frames, models, findings and reports stay on the device until you export them yourself. No analytics, no advertising.

FREE, NO LIMITS
All features are available without payment. Anyone who wishes can become a donor — an optional one-time fee through the App Store that unlocks nothing.

REQUIREMENTS
iPhone or iPad with iOS 18; LiDAR (Pro models) recommended. On a Mac with Apple Silicon it runs as a “Designed for iPad” app: package import, examination, measuring and the report — capture and model processing on iPhone/iPad. Reconstruction is computationally demanding — minutes; leave the phone on the charger.

A documentation tool that supports professional judgement and does not replace it. It is not a certified measuring instrument; accuracy depends on capture conditions and should be verified with a reference of known length. The user is responsible for the lawfulness of capture and handling of the documentation.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.1.4 — 2026-09-23

• T3 target in direct sun: the circles are recognised on overexposed paper too, and from this version also from three corners plus mark E when one corner runs past the edge of the frame on a close pass
• New “circles” counter on the capture screen: the circles give the scale, not the QR; while it is orange the coach says “Pass straight over the target” and the app asks before finishing
• Class A: a reference from 290 mm (the target's A–C diagonal = 294 mm now counts; previously 300 mm)
• Guide: a real example from a simulated-fall scan (head on a rock), its certificate result and why; Slovak wording fixes

### 3.1.3 — 2026-09-20

• The scan no longer ends after capture: the surroundings mesh is copied continuously and ARKit is not read after pause • Quick preview from 4K frames uses downscaled copies when the memory budget is small (no more "24 MB free") • Views along the body axis (From the head, From the feet, Left/Right side) • two targets no longer mix (the QR target gets a target index) • an unclosed scan is completed on opening • Control network: the T3 target now has a printed centre mark (cross with ring for the tape), exact description of what to measure • SK/EN guide updated

### 3.1.2 — 2026-09-19

• A case of several scans: up to 600 frames per session (the iPhone computes a preview from the best 200 — Apple's limit, the Mac all of them), library grouped by case, a detail scan assigned to a finding, the report lists the other scans of the case
• Guide “Crime-scene examination: body and surroundings” (About, web)
• Targets T3.1/T3.2: the QR code drawn as vectors — crisp in print
• New measurement kind Polyline: the sum of straight segments (body length with flexed limbs: crown–hip–knee–heel); “along the surface” is shown for Distance only up to 0.5 m
• Scan sound off by default; a new discreet sound theme; a new sector and completion are signalled by haptics; elapsed capture time in the status bar
• Fine-tune: the scene zooms 3× onto the point with a yellow crosshair, the loupe now tracks the surface (fix); reference: verdict against the measurement uncertainty, several checks per scan, all listed in the report
• Body position Seated (chair, armchair, car): radar with all three heights, step hints for a seated body, in the report; guide with a diagram
• Stability after a large scan: saving the surroundings mesh of a large room was disproportionately slow and the scan did not finish — fixed; cap of 500,000 triangles; the capture screen is replaced by processing after finishing; photo mode at most 24 MP; the crop is skipped when the box covers the whole scene; the notice after an unexpected termination states the phase, the lowest free memory and what to do
• LiDAR surroundings directly in the model view (building button): body and walls in one view, measure body ↔ wall, hand ↔ object
• Metrology: point uncertainty depends on the zoom at entry; class A requires a reference ≥ 300 mm (Fine-tune/Pencil) or the target in the model, the worst check decides, a disagreeing reference lowers the class to C; the surface path keeps its side and continuity
• Measurement accuracy in plain words: a level (high/good/indicative/unverified) and the expected agreement with a ruler for a 100 mm finding and body length — in the viewer, report and certificate
• Capture: T3 target detection is new and fast (on grass or patterned floors it used to stall and the target was never recorded), it keeps running on a hot phone; blurred frames are rejected more strictly; at the frame cap a “Finish and compute” prompt; confirmation when no target was seen; the scan closes itself when the phone is locked
• Guide SK/EN: holding and moving the phone, the Surroundings step, a real example, chapter “How accurate is it?”, validation experiment

### 3.1.1 — 2026-09-15

### 3.1.0 — 2026-09-14

• Accurate measuring: measurement and finding points always lie on the model surface (up to version 3.0 they could land on the model hull on iPhone). We recommend re-checking older iPhone measurements.
• Fine-tune: 3× loupe and precise nudging; press-and-hold placement fixed.
• Lasso: trace an outline along the skin (path, area). Undo/Redo, custom finding colour, marker size.
• Capture in four guided steps: overview, detail + target, fill gaps, surroundings.
• Large scans: quick preview from a frame subset, Mac textures downsized, diagnostics after a system kill; package export for the Mac.
• Target T3 in two print versions (T3.1 clean, T3.2 print); the reference check reports a mismatch.
