### 1/5 — Trash

*2024-11-28, version 1.3*

Trash app= trash IT= trash website = poor customer service = poor company leadership…. You can tell the company leadership is not very good when customers can’t even pay for their service with the tools given…

### 1/5 — Terrible terrible

*2024-11-05, version 1.3*

This is just a trash app. Aqua should be ashamed to have this. It is near impossible to get anything to work and go through properly

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2024-10-21, version 1.3*

Amount owed is not updated. Kept saying $0 balance! Had to call to pay!

### 1/5 — Infuriating CX

*2024-06-11, version 1.3*

Seriously!!! I have a bill scheduled and yet you send me an email to let me know I’ve got a upcoming payment. And then it took be 5 minutes to find out whether I actually had scheduled a bill. (Wasn’t apparent!)

Mobile apps are supposed to enhance the consumer experience not making it more infuriating

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2024-05-21*

Always has issues constantly , it’s always so difficult every month to pay a simple water bill

### 1/5 — Payment Page Doesn’t Load

*2024-05-21, version 1.3*

As others have stated, it’s just the website ported into an app. The website is poorly run, so is this app. Want to make a payment? Good luck finding out when the payment portal actually loads. Want to view your current bill? Takes you straight to their website.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2024-02-28, version 1.3*

I have had to delete and load this app twice, now it’s saying cannot connect to server.

### 1/5 — Worst App on my Phone

*2024-02-28, version 1.3*

This is the worst app on my phone. Nothing works. Data didn’t transfer from legacy system. Scrolling (something that should be seamless) ends up being so frustratingly bad, I log in on my computer. Not to mention the hand off of this app was poorly done. My neighbor got a shut off notice because the auto-pay didn’t transfer. The only reason I didn’t is because they warned me to go set it back up.

### 1/5 — Huge inconvenience

*2024-02-25*

Why is it so hard for a billion dollar company to make a decent app? This “new and improved” app/website will cause massive inconveniences for customers and will also result in billing issues and the customers will get blamed for the billing issues. Aqua normally sends me a notification via email saying my bill is ready. Ever since the new update I never got any email. But I just created an account on the “new” awesome app and see that my bill is there. How do I know I won’t get charged twice if I pay this bill even though I never received an email saying my bill is ready?

### 1/5 — Nothing

*2024-02-20, version 1.3*

Against my better judgement and even after reading all the negative reviews, I downloaded this app and no matter what I do, it doesn’t work. It tells you to log in and says it’s sending an email but nothing is sent. When you go to “forgot password” it gives the option of a question to answer but there’s no question showing and anything you type is invalid. I’ll stick to my regular mode of payment thanks.

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2024-02-20, version 1.3*

Can’t log in and when i try it says I have a password reset email, which there isn’t. Then try to reset password, which doesn’t produce a security question. Literally nothing works

### 1/5 — Just as bad as the actual company.

*2024-02-19, version 1.3*

Asking you to download a new app…. I do.

Every time I try to open it, says “trouble connecting to the server.” This app is garbage just like the company.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Pathetic

*2026-06-15, version 1.10*

This app won’t even load. Imagine charging out the nose for water and not even providing your customers with a working app or website so they can pay their bills.

### 1/5 — Won’t open

*2026-04-27, version 1.10*

I can’t even open it and sorry can’t pay my bill, I have downloaded it 3 times and get a blank screen then time out error please fix it
Apple iPhone iOS 26.4.2

### 1/5 — App

*2026-03-30, version 1.9*

It works when it wants

### 1/5 — Total Garbage

*2025-10-13, version 1.7*

Registration would not even work. I simply stopped and deleted the app. As the title reads…total garbage!

### 1/5 — No Stars

*2025-04-12, version 1.6*

I’ve seen highschool computer science projects that work better than this app - from account information not loading/inability to proceed with payments and then doom spinning on payment confirmation page…the list of ongoing and even worse, unresolved, bugs that make this app unusable is astounding.

Feels like more of a weekend project than a legitimate company’s app, but then again we’re talking about Aqua - where doing the bare minimum is the norm

This never should have made it out of quality and go pushed to production

### 1/5 — Horrible app for utility

*2025-04-11, version 1.5*

Always a problem just to pay a simple water bill the app never works properly & every update they make it worse

### 1/5 — Apple

*2025-03-16, version 1.5*

You all made us switch to the app & it doesn’t even work for iPhone users. I shouldn’t have to guess if my payment went though or wait for an email. Do better!

### 1/5 — 1 star because 0 isn’t an option

*2025-02-23, version 1.5*

This app is so comically bad that it’s hard to believe that an actual utility uses it to conduct business. For crying out loud, when you first log in, there’s a warning that says that iOS users should basically expect the app to lock up when submitting payment, but go check your email first to see if it actually went through. It’s been like this for months now, I’m starting to think the warning screen IS the fix. Truth be told, I don’t even really expect much more from the company that spent several years filling my bathtubs with brown water and forcing half of our neighbors to buy expensive in-home filtration systems to combat it.

### 1/5 — Application Useless

*2025-02-23, version 1.5*

Fix the issue with the payment confirmation. For months you’ve said it’s being worked on, and still not has changed

### 1/5 — App Does Not Work

*2025-02-14, version 1.5*

Echo what has been said before-follow instructions to log in and all I get is a message that the account is already registered but it will not let me log into the account.

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — EASY PEASY

*2026-07-01, version 1.11*

A Comfort to watch our water consumption while on vacation.

### 5/5 — Just what was needed

*2024-04-27, version 1.3*

I read a bad review from a couple of months ago and almost didn’t bother downloading the app!

I’m happy to report that my login was flawless. I was able to see my bill and download it.

And I was able to pay my bill with no issues – it already had all my information from the web-based portal.

Lots easier than using the web-based portal on a smart phone!

### 5/5 — Good

*2024-02-24, version 1.3*

This app is working good. I’m not having any of the problems the other reviewers are having. I have an android. I used the website to reset my password before I downloaded the app. Maybe that helped. I’ve had my water bill on auto pay forever and haven’t signed onto the customer portal in 10 years so I’ll probably never use this app. But it’s still nice to have if I move someday and need to change or cancel my service.

### 2/5 — Horrible

*2024-10-26*

You don’t know if the payment went through or not. And it doesn’t save the password. The money this company gets from peoples utility bills. They should be ashamed of themselves to have a lazy app.

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2024-05-06, version 1.3*

It’s literally the website pushed through the app. Scrolling is near impossible. Made a payment but have no idea if it went through because the account hasn’t updated.

I feel like I’m better off keeping the website as a shortcut on my phone like I used to instead of the app.

### 2/5 — Poor experience

*2024-02-22*

This is a pretty green app that has a ton of flaws… the log in experience was rough, between having to reset the password and then the biometric auth implementation is poor (why isn’t it automated? Clicking a button to launch it isn’t the ideal CX!)

The actual app experience isn’t much better. Poor navigation, limited functionality, and buggy (clicked on one link and got an unrelated page!)

The topper is that AQUA appears to have changed its back end systems as part of this launch BUT it didn’t link data from the old system which resulted in me paying my monthly bill twice!

As a product manager of a mobile app, I get the concept of getting a product to market quickly but you only get one chance to make a first impression on your customers. Extra usability studies and QC would have made for a better product and customer experience
