## What is Aquarium Planner & Tank Math?

You are the kind of aquarium keeper who notices the small details: a nitrate shift, a missed filter cleaning, a new fish settling in, or a dose that needs to be checked twice. Aquarium Planner & Water Math is built for that careful style of fishkeeping, giving you one local-first place to track tanks, log care, and run the numbers before you act.

Use it when you need a quick answer at the tank: how many gallons a setup holds, how much water a change requires, what a dose should be, how recent test results are trending, or which maintenance task is due next. It supports freshwater, planted, saltwater, reef, quarantine, hospital, breeding, and pond workflows without forcing you into a complicated account system.

Plan and Track Your Aquariums
- Create aquarium records for active tanks.
- Track water type, volume, units, setup details, and notes.
- Review dashboard cards for current tank status and due work.
- Keep fish, plant, equipment, and treatment details organized by tank.
- Preserve readable history even when Pro access changes.

Log Water Tests and Maintenance
- Record ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, KH, GH, temperature, and salinity.
- Log filter cleaning, gravel vacuuming, carbon changes, light replacement, dosing, and other maintenance.
- Track water change plans and completed changes.
- Review timelines, summaries, sparse data notes, and outlier warnings.
- Use free-tier caps for core records, with Aquarium Pro available for expanded tracking.

Aquarium Calculators
- Tank size and volume calculators for rectangular, hexagon, cylinder, half-cylinder, and quarter-cylinder tanks.
- Surface area and water weight estimates.
- Setup planning for substrate and water weight.
- Water change calculator for nitrate target planning.
- Chemical dosing calculator for common aquarium workflows.
- Stocking helper for quick fish-per-gallon estimates.

Unit Converters
- Pressure: psi, kPa, bar, and atm.
- Temperature: Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin.
- Volume: US gallons, Imperial gallons, liters, cubic inches, and cubic centimeters.
- Flow rate: US gph, US gpm, L/h, and L/min.

References and Fish Care
- Fish care profiles for quick lookup.
- Water parameter ranges for freshwater, planted, saltwater, and reef systems.
- Nitrogen cycle notes.
- Water change guidance.
- Acclimation basics.
- Compatibility and emergency troubleshooting reminders.

Local-First Data
Aquarium Planner & Water Math stores aquarium records locally on your device. Aquarium Pro includes local JSON backup export and restore tools for moving simplified Aquarium records between installs or devices. Backup files include aquariums, water tests, maintenance events, fish, plants, equipment, treatments, water change plans, and achievements. Photos, expense records, and CSV payloads are not part of the current backup package.

Aquarium Pro
Aquarium Pro unlocks expanded limits and advanced tools. The app supports a monthly auto-renewing subscription and a lifetime one-time purchase. Restore Purchases is available for users who reinstall or move to a new device. Existing records remain readable if Pro access changes.

Built for Repeat Care
Aquarium care depends on small, repeated actions: testing water, planning changes, checking equipment, dosing carefully, and reviewing what changed since last week. This app keeps those numbers and records in one practical workspace so maintenance decisions start from better context.

Aquarium Planner & Water Math does not replace species research, quarantine protocol, product instructions, or veterinary guidance. It provides calculations, logs, and reference material to support more consistent aquarium care. Use it tank-side.

Great app, helps when buying used tanks. Get the measurement's and know how many gallons it really is.

### 5/5 — Very good

*2012-06-10*

This app helped me a lot

### 5/5 — So easy

*2012-05-06*

This app does exactly what it says, more info than you could possibly need, and customer service that is prompt and attentive to any issues. No more googling a gallon conversion site!!

### 5/5 — Idea for up-date.

*2011-12-19*

A Great app, very useful and well thought out. Please may i make a suggestion. I'm based in the U.K, and my job involves working with aquariums everyday. It would be useful if the default setting of U.S gallons / litres could be switched to U.K gallons and litres. I know you have included a conversion to U.K gallons; it would just be useful to have it on the main screen. Perhaps you could consider this for a future update ?

Hey guys, i don't know how much my suggestion persuaded you to do an update regarding imperial measurements on the main screen; but you've done it !!!!!!!!!! Fantastic, works really well and is easy to use. Many thanks for listening.
