And, I look at the barcode number and I can’t put the last number in. I have tried with many books and nothing works, so, don’t get this app **Developer response:** Hi - We have published a new version of the app that leverages our new search engine (V5). Thanks! ### 1/5 — Do not recommend *2025-01-14* I looked at this app because AR bookfinder was missing some of the books I know are AR books. This app missed even more. Especially books that other apps picked up. Definitely do not recommend. **Developer response:** The app mirrors the behavior of the AR Bookfinder website. If you scan a book's barcode that is not listed in AR Bookfinder website, the book won't show up (even if it's an AR book). We are thinking about improving our algorithm in the future to check if the same book is listed in AR bookfinder but under different barcodes. Meanwhile, if could share with us some barcodes of books that were not picked up by our app but still listed as an AR book that would help us improving our app. Thank you in advance. ----- UPDATE 8/8/25: We have published a new version of the app that leverages our new search engine (V5). Thanks! ### 2/5 — AR Book Assisttent *2026-03-19* The Search For Author and stuff never works I type in a book and then it says ‘sorry please try again’ and when I use ISBN it says ‘sorry this book is not in the library **Developer response:** I am sorry to hear that you are facing these issues. Thanks! ### 2/5 — It WOULD OF been a good app *2025-09-27* I was trying to search up a book but it kept giving me a warning saying to try again then i logged in then logged out but it still wouldn’t work im on mobile ipad by the way **Developer response:** Hello - please reach out to us at contact@britsy.org and we will be happy to assist you with the issue. ### 3/5 — Sometimes Inaccurate *2024-10-01* I love the scanner and I love that I can add books to be read and then mark off what’s been read, but I can’t look books up by title, and the scanner and ISBN sometimes return inaccurate results, saying the book is not an AR book, when it is. So whenever it says something is not an AR book, I have to go to the AR website and look it up the long way anyway. I assume it’s because I might have an old or unusual edition (we get many of our books used). If they could add a search by title feature in the app, that would be great so I could still add those books to our book shelf. **Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback on the app, this helps us making it better for everyone. The scanner/ISBN behavior that you describe is the expected behavior in case you scan a book whose ISBN (the series of numbers below the barcode) is not referenced in AR website. Indeed, this often happens for older versions of books. The great news is that the search by title/author is planned to be delivered this weekend! I love this app being able to keep track of what my children have read and the scanner is amazing. ### 5/5 — Good app *2025-08-20* So far this app is working really well to help me find AR books quickly for my child, however; the “quiz not taken” library is not working. I have tagged several books as “quiz not taken” under my child’s name to save the book, but it is not saved. **Developer response:** Hi - Thank you very much for your feedback and for pointing out the issue. You are right, something is not working properly for the case you describe. We are working on it and we hope to be able to release a fix as soon as possible. ----- UPDATE 9/5/25: we have corrected the bug. It required a massive re-design of our database, something we had not anticipated. We make regular updates to the app so feel free to check these out! ### 5/5 — Scanner is not always accurate *2025-01-08* Several times the scanner states the book is not found, but I am able to find it when typing the title in the search bar. I would say the scanner has been about 90% accurate however. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. This behavior occurs when you scan a barcode that is not registered in Renaissance. Books in Renaissance can have a range of barcodes (ISBNs) and sometimes AR website does not list them all. E.g. older versions of a book might not be listed. This explains why the scanner cannot retrieve the book by its barcode but the book is still in Renaissance (registered with different barcodes). Thanks! ## Most praised reviews (2 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Idea *2024-10-23* I’ve used this app for a little bit and it is really useful but I have one suggestion that I think could really help. PLEASE put an “add all to library” button in history! This would make adding things to the library so much easier. This is a great app would recommend. I also really love the scan feature! ### 5/5 — Good app, Great potential *2024-09-25* I overall think this app has a very promising potential. Unlike some other AR apps I’ve tried, this one’s ISBN scanner actually works. I also like how it functions as a AR assistant, not just a scanner. However, there are a few key points where this app could be improved. For one, you should have the option to look up books by title/author, not just by ISBN. This would be helpful when I don’t have the book on me at the time and don’t want to have to look up it’s ISBN number. Another helpful feature would be points tracking. I would like to know how many points I have achieved over the year/quarter/semester. After all, It’s called an AR book assistant, not AR book lookup. Overall, I think that this is a great app, and with a few added features and design tweaks, this could become the best AR app out there. **Developer response:** Thanks very much for your encouragements and constructive feedback.
