## What is AR Helicopter Training?

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING THIS APP: This is an augmented reality app. Do NOT purchase this app if you cannot launch the experience in a well lit environment, or if you do NOT have an iPhone 14 or newer. Augmented reality requires a lot of power and anything under an iPhone 14 model will NOT perform well. Having said that, contact us directly if you have any issues. AR is a new technology and you might need some direction to launch this app properly to avoid any issues. 

AR Helicopter Training by Mauna Loa Helicopters & Augmented Island Studios, is the first spatial computing/augmented reality helicopter training software for beginner pilots. Our application allows students to visualize and learn helicopter flying aerodynamics and maneuvers lessons from an immersive perspective. In addition, our app offers a portable pre-flight experience and a hover mini sim. Our app was built by helicopter pilots, for helicopter pilots. Enjoy!

The app is well designed. As a CFI, I thoroughly enjoy the convenience it allows the student. It’s great for them to be able to review helicopter components without having to be on the flight line. It is very interactive and detailed. I have an iPhone 15, and the augmented reality works really well. It also amazes me that you’re able to see some of the parts of the helicopter you wouldn’t normally be able to because there are other parts in the way.

With a newer iPhone and updated iOS for better computing power this software is pretty amazing. The Augmented Reality is a whole new concept in software training and this is the only training software of its kind. It is the best training app for aviation that I have seen.

$50 is way too much for how buggy this is. They should eliminate the whole AR portion because its not useable. The content is great but the platform is broken. Got my money back

We have a zero crash report so we want to understand what happened while you were using the app so we can better understand why you mentioned that the AR portion is not useable. We just tested the app on 8 different iPhones and did not have any issues, hence why we want to connect with you. Augmented reality is a newer technology, and the app could potentially present issues if a phone is older or with an older version of iOS. AR as a technology can also be a bit touchy if not launched properly, and it requires that the room or space you're in to be well lit and that the surface you're using to launch the AR is not just one solid color. Patterns (carpets, hardwood floors, etc) work best. In short, we'd truly want to know what the exact issues you had were and see if we can be helpful. We greatly appreciate your time. We're updating the app description today (it will take a bit to refresh) to include more information about the iPhones needed and the requirements of well lit areas for AR. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to hearing from you.

### 2/5 — Hard to look inside the helicopter

The 3D pre check of the r-22 is hard to Navigate around. And find it very hard to move the helicopter around with your fingers to get in to where you wana look and see. Not worth the 50 bucks at all.

We would love to make sure that you can see inside the helicopter with no problems. If you're using the pre-flight feature and you want to see inside the helicopter, we suggest you use the large helicopter 3D model. Since this app is in augmented reality, it's built so you actually move around the helicopter and not so much to move it with pinching. Although, that can be done, but it's hard with the smaller helicopter model. We hope to hear from you, as we want to make sure we can help. Thank you for your time.
