### 2/5 — Technical Difficulty

*2024-12-25, version 1.0.9*

Had to troubleshoot connecting the first device because it read the activation code but wasn’t working. Deleted and redownloaded the app and reactivated on same device but it still used up a second activation attempt. Wish there was a way to view a list of devices it has connected to, and remove the ones that didn’t actually connect properly.
Also, there aren’t instructions with how to use/mount the included phone adapter to be able to capture images.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2024-12-15, version 1.0.9*

I can’t scan the activation code, I’ve tried every trick people say, still doesn’t work. Absolute junk

### 1/5 — Worst app

*2024-12-15, version 1.0.9*

This app is extremely unhelpful in every possible way. App requires for a Bluetooth and location permission but in settings it does not even show the options for Bluetooth or location service. When you scan the activation code it just complains network connection failed.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2024-11-13, version 1.0.9*

Can’t scan an unknown

### 1/5 — Useless app

*2024-11-11, version 1.0.9*

The app is useless. It can’t even find the moon.

### 1/5 — Please fix

*2024-11-07*

It doesn’t even work like it’s horrible I would give it 0 stars if I could I had to return it 3 times do not get the app but the actual telescope was pretty good

### 1/5 — NO QR CODE!

*2024-10-23, version 1.0.9*

My dad gave me this telescope for me and my siblings because we were fascinated about space. We had built the telescope with NO INSTRUCTIONS it was hard to get it to work. Then We had downloaded this app and it asked us for a QR code we looked around the box and no code, on the telescope NO CODE. This entire thing was a huge scam (I’m probably being a bit dramatic but whatever)

### 1/5 — It sucks.

*2024-02-09, version 1.0.6*

The app came with my new National Geographic telescope, however the entire app’s text are in hieroglyphics and is completely unusable.

### 1/5 — NG Sky Assist 102 app activation nonfunctional

*2023-12-26, version 1.0.6*

NG Sky Assist 102 telescope has a Bluetooth adapter to connect your phone on a handy mount on the telescope. It comes with an activation code for ARtelescope app. I downloaded the app. It said my phone was compatible. I scanned the QR code for the activation but no Bluetooth connection is available. Kind of a bust.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2023-09-09*

Keeps asking to scan before use and isn’t scanning anything just keeps fake scanning something the whole time

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2023-08-13*

This app is the most complicated app I’ve ever tried to maneuver. The camera inverts when trying to use the app. On top of that the actual manual instructions are poor too! This needs some serious re-designing and better explanation because this is not it.

### 1/5 — HORRIBLE APP

*2023-06-08*

The box doesn’t even have instructions the app just looks horrible and cheap when I tap out of the thing for the stars it keeps talking and it’s so annoying so don’t even waste your time buying this thing and it was a horrible birthday gift just listen to the reviews but what do you expect from a cheap Chinese company I hate this I wish I never got this gift EVEN when I built it by looking at the box I built it but guess what the thing was pitch black I hate this

### 1/5 — Mistake

*2023-05-27, version 1.0.5*

Don’t download, and return the telescope it came with.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2023-01-02, version 1.0.5*

App continually crashes and is not at all functional. Will be returning the telescope.

### 1/5 — Won’t connect

*2022-12-26, version 1.0.5*

Won’t connect to phone.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2025-03-18, version 1.0.9*

You can’t even use the app and can’t even scan the code to use the app

### 1/5 — It sucks

*2025-02-02, version 1.0.9*

No bluetooth

### 1/5 — Can’t even scan the activation code

*2025-01-26, version 1.0.9*

First time trying to use this app. As the code came with the telescope we purchased. Guess we will be taking it back! Giving one star cause I have to

### 1/5 — No Bluetooth

*2025-01-19, version 1.0.9*

This app isn’t working properly. I have no Bluetooth connection to the app.

### 1/5 — Don’t buy this or the replica this is no code

*2025-01-19, version 1.0.9*

Don’t bother

### 1/5 — No activation code provided

*2025-01-10, version 1.0.9*

No activation code was provided with the telescope.. so disappointing

### 1/5 — Garbage app

*2025-01-02*

The app is terrible. Nonstop pop up info about the constellations on the screen that interfere with what you’re actually trying to do, with no option to turn them off.

Impossible to use as a finder, too. It couldn’t even correctly point me to Venus or Jupiter, which I could clearly see.

### 1/5 — Activation bug

*2024-12-16*

The app activation does not work.. gives some strange network error

### 1/5 — No network

*2024-12-15*

So either the AP developers gave up on this app but it still remains being advertised to use and connect to see/view the stars. The app is awful and it needs to be fixed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very informative

*2025-01-05*

App has really good information about the constellations like the making behind the name and where it came from. The information does pop up randomly but it’s really nice to know about the constellations!

### 5/5 — yippeee

*2024-12-31, version 1.0.9*

I got this for Christmas cause my grandma got it, love! :D this is my first telescope, if you are looking for the code it’s on the side

### 5/5 — Awesome app! Works great.

*2024-12-29, version 1.0.9*

Not sure why others are having issues as it worked flawlessly for me. Perhaps they updated it to fix the bugs others were experiencing. I was able to quickly download the app via QR code, it asked for permissions which I allowed, and I was able to scan the activation QR code which activated the app. I am now able to mount my phone to the telescope which pushes down on the power button of the telescope bracket and connect to Bluetooth. I am then able to see and aim the telescope using the crosshair to the different constellations and stars, it’s awesome! Can’t wait to play around with it more.

### 5/5 — The app works fine

*2024-12-25, version 1.0.9*

When you open the telescope bag there’s a manual on the side with the long zipper. On page 8 of the manual is your activation QR code to scan. Stop giving poor reviews because you didn’t read the instruction manual it came with…

### 5/5 — Great app and support

*2020-12-19*

If your having problems contact the app developer they will help and are very responsive. If having network failed error try a public wifi hotspot when you activate.

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2021-12-26, version 1.0.4*

Great other than the fact that it was a little laggy when scanning the QR code. Eventually worked though. Other than that it works great!

### 3/5 — Crash?

*2023-11-10, version 1.0.6*

App won’t open it would load then crash immediately… only got to use it once :( great app while it worked though

### 3/5 — App crashes

*2021-12-25*

Can’t really use the app if it crashes every time I have to reorient my phone. Other than this id say it’s great app and very good idea. telescope itself is pretty good too.

### 3/5 — Figured it out?

*2020-12-28, version 1.0.3*

So there is no need to use QR CODE. Just type in apple App Store or google ar telescope 3l. It should pop up and just download it. Then when you get to app allow access to everything and when you get to point where need to connect to Bluetooth turn off your WiFi with Bluetooth on and have it inside telescope phone holder so blue light is blinking. Should work after. Hope this helps everyone.

### 3/5 — Finally got it to work

*2020-12-27*

Instructions could be more detailed. If you are having trouble activating, turn off your WiFi to activate when scanning. I turned off my WiFi settings and it started working instantly, without scanning.
When you hit star seeking, it will do a Bluetooth search, phone must be on the telescope for it to work and connect to Bluetooth.
Good luck.
