It has helped me in studies, past few months immensely. I took the risk of buying it hoping that it works offline, it does. Apart from large vocabulary and the capability to look up arabic words virtually in any shape(conjugated, with various prefix or suffix) which is more than user-friendly but rather essential in learning arabic, the developer is very responsive and dedicated in trying to enhance and add new features, such as the URL scheme which allows you to seemlessly look up words directly from web articles(or any text). Recommend to all arabic learner. ### 5/5 — Diacritics Included!!! *2016-02-13* UPDATE - I wish I could give this 10 Stars! The Aratools Makers topped the split screen request I'd made earlier, instead Aratools can be used IN other apps!!! THANK YOU!!!! The one request I would make now is that the dictionary be able to read words that already have diacritics in them. Retyping a word without diacritics to get a definition is cumbersome and time consuming. ****** This is the BEST Arabic/English dictionary available!!! It is the only one I have found that includes diacritics, which is tremendously helpful! I've recommended this to many of my Arabic learning friends and they agree. Very responsive via email. ### 4/5 — Great Arabic dictionary *2015-05-19* Great product- the only digital dictionary that will put every short vowel on every letter and tell you the part of speech- great for students! The only shortfall is that you cannot input more than one word, even when it's a phrase or 2 words together that make one word in English. Overall, I recommend this product. Even with the steep price, as there do not seem to be many competitors. ### 5/5 — Great app great response to bug reports *2015-05-18* I have been using this app for nearly four years now. In my opinions is the best Arabic-English dictionary I have ever used. The dictionary with its ability to recognise words in their context form then tell you about their inflections, prefix, suffixes and roots is fantastic. With a recent update there was a bug that stopped the dictionary function working. After informing support, I got an immediate response then a couple of follow up update emails over the next day. Within two days there was an update that solved the problem. I was so impressed with the developers’ response. It's been fantastic to see new features being added too. This is a great app and I would highly recommend it. A number of reviews mention problems to do with the keyboard; these should all be ignored because to make the keyboard go away you just have to hit the return or الرجوع key. This will help you read unknown words a lot. ### 5/5 — Aratools dictionary *2014-11-17, version 1.6* The best Arabic dictionary I have ever used I suggest all people should get it. ### 4/5 — Great app, but... *2014-09-29* This is one of the best Arabic apps available, giving grammatical details (gender, prefix, suffix etc) of Arabic words that most of the others miss out. The update is welcomed but, once text has been entered, there doesn't seem to be any way of dismissing the keyboard (iPhone 6 plus) and accessing the new options on the home screen, without quitting the app (via the multitask screen) and reopening. Please fix ASAP! Beyond this, what would make it a truly great app would be the ability to search for an Arabic word using English text… complete with singular and plural (something that seems to be completely missing from any Arabic app, which appear to be mainly geared towards Arabic speakers learning English – a bigger market, I guess) forms of the Arabic nouns... and (the big ask) root, perfect, imperfect and other tenses etc of verbs. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — So upset *2015-07-15* You ruined the app!!!! This used to be my absolute favorite go to app for Arabic English translations. Please please return the app to the way it used to be. Every time I search a word now the results show up all over each other and unreadable also there are many other bugs, this app used to be the best app out there. It was my essential go-to Arabic-English translator. Unfortunately it doesn’t work anymore. Every time I try to open it, it force closes. I really hope the app developer will update it so it starts working again. ### 5/5 — One of my most used apps *2020-12-27* Make sure you download this app as not only does it have all the words available for offline use, but you can add prefixes and suffixes to a word and it’ll still show you the word. And it’ll show you the root, it’s translation and other words like it. Also, if you go to the “browser” section, you can search a word in English and most of the time the word shows in Arabic. As I know many were asking for this feature and it’s available! But in order to see the root you have to input that Arabic word in the “dictionary” section. Some people were complaining about not being to remove the keyboard from the screen, but there’s an option at the bottom right hand of the keyboard you can remove it from your screen. Another app to help you see the mudaari’ ‘amr, and all the forms is if you download an app called “ACON Arabic Conjugator” and you can also download the “Hans Wehr” dictionary to see the masdar and all the different meanings of the verb, and much more. ### 5/5 — Really simple and useful. *2020-05-05* It’s very fast and intuitive to use.
