## What is Arc Mini?

Arc Mini is an open source companion to Arc App. It provides both a slimmed down subset of Arc's functionality, as well as additional utility views, for inspecting real time recording and debug information.

Arc Mini is best used as a tinker toy for open source developers, or Arc App power users wishing to get the best out of their data, or greater insights into real time timeline recording. However it can also be used as a standalone timeline recording app, with export to GPX and JSON.

Arc Mini integrates with Core Motion to record step counts and accelerometer data, to determine activity types such as walking, running, skateboarding, etc.

### 1/5 — Reported app was buggy and developer didn’t like that. Keeps coming back with childish remarks.

*2024-10-20, version 1.7.1*

Looks like you swallowed another dictionary 😂😂, and for the record I DID NOT review any of your other apps - LIAR. Developer says I’m “Not a genuine reviewer”, just because my review wasn’t to their liking.. rather childish. Then goes on to paint me as “Angry, irrational, abusive, lying, shouty, hyperbole, insulting, petulant, lashing, spittle”. You do crack me up.. The review wasn’t any of those things, but you know that, you just spat your dummy out when I wrote a constructive review because the app didn’t work for me. Take another chill pill, drama queen. And for the record I did delete your app many, many moons ago, you just happened to pick up on my review after a year and decided to write big shouty words. I’ll go away when you stop being so childish. Bye, Mr Angry.

**Developer response:** Hi again Andy!

There's no need to copy my reply into your review. My reply is already public - I've written it for other people to read just the same as you. And yes, I do know the dates of every review and reply. My reply you're upset about was also posted more than a year ago, and has been visible on the App Store for all that time.

It's appropriate to let people know that you are not a genuine reviewer - certainly not one offering anything approaching "constructive criticism", but instead an angry and irrational person who is lashing out, and often lying along the way, in order to justify your abusive behaviour.

If you like I could quote in every one of your previous reviews here, so that people can see the reality of your abusive behaviour. Though I'm quite certain you would *not* like that.

Your previous reviews were shouty nonsense, made up of mixtures of completely false claims, extreme hyperbole in all-caps, and abusive and insulting language. You got in response what you deserved - this isn't a consequences-free world.

If you want to be treated respectfully, act respectfully. If you're going to act like a petulant child, spraying spittle and shouting while bemused onlookers cautiously back away, expect to be treated like the badly behaved person that you are.

I do wonder why though, if my app is so "rubbish", you keep coming back month after month to post new reviews. Either you're still using the app, in which case it clearly isn't the "absolute rubbish" you claim it is, or you can't let this whole thing go, and are replying to get the last word in, pathologically unable to move on.

Please don't tell me which it is - I lost patience with you the first time your spittle hit my face. Just delete my app, and get lost.

### 4/5 — Two Too Many Apps

*2023-12-18*

Thank you so much for the clarification.

Previous feedback: While the main Arc app offers a comprehensive and user-friendly experience, the introduction of the Arc Mini seems redundant to me. For users seeking simplicity and efficiency, having two apps that serve a similar purpose can be confusing and consume extra space on their device, not mentioning the negative impact on the battery.

**Developer response:** Update: Thanks for updating your review! It really helps a lot.

Original reply: Arc Mini servers a vital purpose when combined with Arc App.

iOS reserves the right to terminate any app at any time, for any reason or no reason at all. Which means that an app that needs to record 24/7 is inevitably going to end up with data gaps. There's no way around that. Except there is: Two apps.

If Arc App is terminated by iOS, Mini will notice, and take over the job of recording. With the two apps running, one of them will be recording and the other in standby, ready to take over when needed. No more data gaps.

There is no additional impact on battery life. Only one app is recording at a time, with the other in a standby mode that consumes no energy.

In future I recommend bringing up these questions on the support forum (https://support.bigpaua.com) where I am active every day, and can explain or assist with anything that comes to mind.

### 5/5 — Brilliant back-up recording for the Main Arc App

*2023-08-19, version 1.6.0*

I’ve not really used any of the advanced features of this App but it happily runs on my phone acting as a backup for when the main Arc App is terminated by iOS.
It has a nice widget that shows the recording status of both Arc Apps at a glance.

### 1/5 — Didn’t like the app. Rude developer.

*2023-06-26*

I found this app very poor (everyone is entitled to their opinion) - check the recent reviews. He didn’t like constructive criticism and THIS IS WHAT HE SENT ME: “ Your previous reviews were shouty nonsense, made up of mixtures of completely false claims, extreme hyperbole in all-caps, and abusive and insulting language. You got in response what you deserved - this isn't a consequences-free world. If you want to be treated respectfully, act respectfully. ### 2/5 — Crash

*2023-02-02*

Immediately crash when open it, cant open any more.

### 5/5 — More Export Options …???

*2022-07-06, version 1.2*

More export options such as PDF would make it a perfect little app !!!!! if I knew how to write the code I would try to do it but I must depend on you guys
thank you for making this available!!!
