### 1/5 — Looks Cool, Doesn’t Work

*2026-07-28*

Bought the app, logged in. But stuck between creating server and verifying subscription

**Developer response:** Sorry about that. Getting stuck between setting up your server and checking your subscription was a bug on our side, and it's fixed in the latest update. Update arc and sign in again, and your subscription should be picked up without getting stuck. If it still hangs, email support@arc.moi with the address you signed up with and we'll sort it out for you directly.

We've also added a free plan since you tried arc. If you'd like to get to know the app before paying, you can start on the free plan and upgrade to paid whenever you're ready.

### 2/5 — Nice idea poor execution

*2026-09-19*

The premise of a privacy based budget tracker with the promise of Apple Pay support was quite enticing. However the app is quite clunky and incredibly hard to use. The ui is quite confusing and seems vibe coded and it is a struggle to make it through setup. Once you do the app is quite buggy with basic features such as creating an account to track often don’t work or cause the app to be unresponsive. It’s also important to note if you want Apple Pay support it requires sending your notifications to AI which dosent follow the promise of privacy. Overall I really loved the idea and hoped this app would be able to replace all budget apps but was quite disappointed.

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to write this, and for sticking with setup to the end. We know that took some effort.

Every screen in arc was designed by hand, though we accept it doesn't come across that way to everyone. If setup felt like a struggle, that's on us to fix, and we'd like to know which step lost you.

About Apple Pay: capture is optional, and you're the one who sets it up. It runs through a Shortcut that you build and control. Only the payment confirmations you point it at are read, so the merchant and amount can be turned into a draft transaction for you to review. Your other notifications are never sent. If you'd rather nothing leaves your device, you can skip it and add transactions yourself. We'd have been happy to explain all this before it became the main point of a review.

Adding an account is about as basic as it gets, so if that's freezing the app for you, we really do want to hear about it. Send your device model and iOS version to support@arc.moi and we'll look into it.

We're sorry arc wasn't the all-in-one replacement you were hoping for. We'd like the chance to change your mind.

### 5/5 — Simplifies actual

*2026-09-28*

Found it really complex to deploy the most popular opensource budgeting tool actualbudget.

This app is a game changer, makes it a breeze to deploy, maintain and overall makes it a nice experience for actual.

### 5/5 — Immensely beautiful & Functional

*2026-08-01*

I was looking for a budgeting app and came across Actual Budget and how it can be hosted locally. The UI wasn’t that good and friendly. But this app changed everything. The UI is beautiful and its interface is friendly to be adapted easily.
A future feature that can also read imsgs and automatically add the transaction msgs into Actual db would be great.
Thanks a lot.

### 5/5 — Finally switched from YNAB

*2026-03-01*

Finally a great alternative to YNAB at a fraction of cost. Does everything seamlessly and works perfectly on iOS. Great stuff!

### 5/5 — Finally here!

*2026-02-20*

Was always actively looking out for a way to use actual budget on my phone, this was the biggest blocker for me. As I had to set a day aside in a week for just going to my mac to enter the data or reconcille actual, but this surely solves those issues. Moreover the share sheet feature lets me import banking screenshots on the fly!
