No one wants to play something you have to subscribe for and no one wants ads every 5 seconds. That said this company ruins games by “porting them” (making them barely work on modern versions of iOS and bringing them back to the store with minimal work) and putting them behind a subscription. That alone brings this review to a 1 star. Now it doesn't look that good, it freezes randomly, and now I can't play it at all since the game service can't send me an email to activate my account. But even if I could do that I'd only play until my trial ran out. It's a shame what happened to this game. I'd be happier just buying the game from the app store out right than doing all of this. ### 1/5 — They make you pay $5 A MONTH *2021-09-17* After 10 minutes of play they force you to pay a subscription that will charge you $5 per month, this game is not worth even 0.50¢, I would NOT recommend ever downloading this app 0/5 rating ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Please help *2020-10-19* I just signed up for a subscription and every time I go to the game screen to play Ski ball, the entire screen is BLACK and all I can see are the score board near the top of the screen! I see the home button and a lightening bolt button underneath. This is strange, I can see the Home Screen just fine and all the other screens like where you can buy things with raffle tickets. I just can’t see the actual game of ski ball itself. I think I’m actually throwing the ball because the numbers will change when I try and make the motion of throwing the ball. I really really wanted this to work. I have an iPhone 11 and this has never happened before on any game. Please help or I will have to cancel. I also had my daughter download this on her iPhone 11 Pro Max and it’s doing the same thing, I’m guessing the problem maybe with the new update?? Anyone else have this problem?? Is anyone going to fix this? ### 5/5 — OverPriced *2020-08-10* fun game brings me back to childhood but its paid unlike original **Developer response:** This is the "real" version of Arcade Ball/Skee-Ball, officially updated with partnership with the original developers — it is the updated version of an older game but it's the only version updated for modern devices. If you've bought this game in the past, please email support@gameclub.io for your free unlock. ### 4/5 — Best on iPad. *2021-03-08* I LOVE skee ball, In person or in apps! This app is a lot of fun for me if I’m waiting, alleviates boredom. Plays best on my iPad. The physics on the balls works great in that space. Not that great on iPhone (12). Additionally, the slide to close apps on my current iOS is right where you need to launch balls, so the iPhone behaviour impedes the app function, I constantly have to reopen the app. I seem to perceive the ball physics are not optimized for the smaller screen real estate of an iPhone. ?? The makers honored my previous purchase, hats off to them! Much appreciated. There’s a lot, and constant work to creating an app and keeping up with Apple changes. If you like people’s work, you spend a lot of time playing games, you shouldn’t complain about fees. IMO. ### 3/5 — Love *2023-05-19* I love this game, I own y’all’s original game for years and would love to know how I can get the full game without paying for a sub, if I can’t I won’t be able to keep the game as I cannot afford it, thanks. ### 3/5 — Love this game! *2021-04-14* Since I could show that I bought the original game way back in 2009, the developer was able to unlock it for me so I don’t need a subscription to play. It’s great to be able to play this game again! I dropped my rating to 3 stars because there is never any new content added to this game as there was with the original. Once you have “won” all of the prizes, you’re done. I didn’t sign up for it, but I believe the last time I played this, there was no subscription. This game is really an amazing game! It was a childhood game to me... but of course... the game isn’t free anymore. You have to wait to get “tokens” to play 5 minutes of the game. Meanwhile before, you could play whenever you want. I thought of it the other day, and downloaded it on my phone. Only to realize I needed a subscription, which I will not be purchasing.
