I gave it a shot to try it out. Last week, I was at home and the app alerted me to a protest near my house where the highway was shut down and the police were on site. I wouldn't have know about the issue since I wasn't watching TV then. So the app gave me good security intelligence and knew I was near the protest area. I am so impressed with this. Then I got an "all clear" notification after the protest was over and highway open again. I could see how partents would want this for their family members.
