It would be awesome if you could add a light mode as it is hard to see in sunny areas. But the mac version is not available. We cannot take advantage of Arcgis Earth desktop features. ### 2/5 — Major issues with UI *2024-02-06* I really don't want data to show up on whos imagery im looking at and when its from every time i touch the screen. I just want to look at the data from the pins i imported from the USGS MRDS system. I can not select any pin i'm looking at, just a bunch of nonsense from MAXAR imagery pops up. Also as im trying to scroll around and look at things i constantly have the maxar info pop up unintentionally. The tool circle at the bottom when open has too large of an interaction box which makes it impossible to navigate around the imagery while its open as it tries to instead select tools instead of move the users view. Theres some very good features in the app but the user interface makes it almost useless to me. Some major fixes need to be made. ### 3/5 — iPad support *2023-10-25* Would like to see landscape mode. More measurements preferably a radius measurement. Adding lines not just place markers. In the future a way to seamlessly switch from desktop to iPad or vice versus when working on projects ### 3/5 — Needs Apple Watch Support *2023-01-29* I like the app. It works fine and automatically saves the track to my ArcGIS Online account. I recommend that you log into your ArcGIS Online account before you are in the field. I was able to log a track of the 2022 San Diego Rock’n’Roll 5K. However, it will drain your phone’s battery faster than expected. Maybe that will be in another version? If they do that, it won’t be too difficult to create a native MacOS version too via Catalyst...? Mình dùng 12 pro max chứ không phải máy quá cũ nhé ### 1/5 — Placemarks Were Randomly Deleted *2023-12-14* I rarely write App Store reviews- unfortunately in this case I have to strongly advise against this app. I had approximately 500 placemarks on my map placed, the one day when I opened the app, all but a handful were deleted. Fortunately, I anticipated this and maintain a regular backup of the placemarks, but it’s still extremely disappointing. If I hadn’t been careful with the backup, the placemarks would be permanently gone. For this reason, I strongly advise against using this app. ### 1/5 — Basically Non functional *2022-11-13* After installing the app, I connected to My Content and tried to load a feature layer and the app crashes. From that point forward, it crashes every time you open the app until you uninstall the app and reinstall it. If you try to load the feature layer again, the issue repeats. Since I can’t submit a ticket with my level of license, I guess I can’t use it. **Developer response:** Thanks for your use and feedback! Our member will get in touch with you. ### 1/5 — 최악이에요 *2022-10-29, version 1.6* 찍어둔 포인트는 주기적으로 날아가고, 트랙은 이름 바꿔야 공유되고, 공유해도 빈 kml로 오고, 사용하기도 너무 불편해요. 포인트 한번에 숨기는 기능 좀 만들어주세요. 트랙 보면서 가고싶은데 트랙 열어둔 채로 사용하려고 하면 방향이 안 보이고. 기록 간격 설정도 좀 만들어주시고, 트랙 다시보기 때 재생 좀 없애주세요. 쓸모도 없고 보는데 시간만 오래 걸리고 대체 무슨 용도로 만들었는지 모르겠습니다. 데이터 날아간다고 메일 보냈더니 폰 자체에 저장되는거라서 날아갈리 없다는 말만 하는데 벌써 몇 번째인지 모르겠어요. 제 폰 문제일 수도 있겠죠. 용량은 아이폰12 미니입니다. 기종의 문제라면 업데이트 때 수정 좀 부탁드립니다. 써본 gps 어플중에 제일 별로에요. 지도 화질이랑 gpx 여는 것때문에 썼는데 이 두가지 말고는 좋은 점이 없어요. ### 1/5 — Sloppy effort given what we pay for ArcGIS *2020-02-29* As a beta, I viewed the app as having potential. Ironically though, since its official release, it is just a waste of storage space. I have tested this app on every platform and, with the exception of IOS, I can see the content from “My Content” that is saved in ArcGIS online. On my iPhones (multiple), it shows no content. As there are far better apps for just viewing the world on a map, that makes ArcGIS Earth completely useless. What is the point if I cannot visualize anything more than canned data? BTW, ArcGIS Explorer for IOS easily displays the data from “My Content.” The issue is limited solely to this app and only since official release. **Developer response:** Dear swyost, I am sorry to hear your issues using ArcGIS Earth. The default World Imagery basemap was updated on Oct.10th.2019. The imagery was not updated collectively, rather it is by tiles. You can refer to - http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=10df2279f9684e4a9f6a7f08febac2a9. Another option to view the most current imagery within your interested area is to publish the data to Portal and then access it from ArcGIS Earth basemap group. Hope it answers your question. It shows the same image for a few years ### 2/5 — Stunted Development *2025-08-27* The app is pretty okay, but definitely lacking in some basic functionality for an iOS or iPadOS application. The lack of a landscape display option for users working from an iPad is rather infuriating as it prevents the user from being able to use it on the iPad using a keyboard. From an iOS perspective, some of the target audience of this will likely use Juggernaut cases or similar to keep a phone accessible, but able to fold away and likewise need a landscape orientation option. When adding / editing features, the navigation of adding points is counterintuitive to the gestures and there is zero support for Apple Pencil. This works as a basic app, but there is a ton of room to grow and ESRI can definitely do better. The ability to share my photos along with the geolocation in a visual walkthrough of my travel path is really unique. I hope they make saving/sharing a bit easier but it’s Esri; I’m not at all worried they’ll perfect it to excellence.
