### 2/5 — Grady

*2026-05-25, version 35.2.0*

Every guy who is close enough to be with me isn’t in Archer’s in Clayton NC 27527.

### 2/5 — Scammers and unclear purpose

*2026-04-28, version 35.2.0*

This app can’t seem to decide if it’s for dating (language in prior ads) or hookups (current language in app). And almost everyone who reaches out is a remote scammer posing as a local.

### 2/5 — Usage by people who are blind

*2026-04-12, version 34.4.0*

I have heard lots of great things about this app and hopeful that one day I’ll get to use it. I am totally blind and use a screen reader to access apps like this on my phone. The. Profile verification feature that everyone loves is a great idea, but unfortunately, the features added to it to enable people who are blind to use it still do not work and when reaching out to customer service for assistance, I have not. Received any type of reply in over two weeks. Hoping someone at some point will reach out to me so we can figure out how I can verify my profile. I even had a sighted person to assist me and we were unable to get the AI to recognize me. Looking forward to maybe one day using this app and improving my rating.

### 2/5 — Was decent

*2026-04-07, version 34.4.0*

Until it prompts you to swipe to view but won’t let you swipe. Talk about basic fundamental app problem.

### 3/5 — Keyboard issue

*2026-03-20, version 34.3.0*

Every time I type something I can't see it, I have to click on the scene again to show what I typed! Annoying but the people are good

### 3/5 — Log on

*2026-02-18, version 32.1.0*

Every time I try to sign in it days Try Again. What is the log in problem?

### 1/5 — Hate the map feature (broke other features)

*2026-02-09, version 32.1.0*

I’m having issues going back to the different modes. When I go to discover, the “dating”, “hookup”, and “friend” button is completely gone and the stupid map feature is the only thing I can use on the discover tab. I want to be able to swipe again like on Tinder.

### 1/5 — Prejudicial App AI

*2026-02-08, version 32.1.0*

Don’t bother if you have a nice beard because they require you to use facial ID to verify you are who you are but it won’t recognize your face is you have a beard more than 1/2” long. I’m not cutting my beard cuz an App AI can’t figure out I’m a real person.

### 1/5 — Used to like it

*2026-02-07, version 32.1.0*

I liked using archer until they made the main page a map and not a list anymore. Major downgrade.

### 3/5 — Archer

*2026-02-05, version 32.1.0*

Is cool but I wish thier was more options I can do

### 1/5 — This app is not what appears to be

*2026-02-03, version 32.1.0*

Hardly get any matches on here and nobody responds

### 1/5 — Another app full of fake accounts

*2026-02-02, version 32.1.0*

Just another app that’s full of fake accounts that nothing is ever done about. Avoid like the plague.

### 1/5 — Forced map feature is a massive downgrade

*2026-02-01, version 32.1.0*

This isn’t sniffies. Putting a map feature on an app geared towards dating instead of casual hookups makes no sense

### 1/5 — Seriously?

*2026-01-30, version 32.1.0*

I’ve been on Archer for a week. It’s my first time ever using the app. I’ve downloaded it several different times, but never actually opened it until this past week. I created an account, which was super easy to make and it seemed super in-depth, but then I started realizing there’s a lot of glitches. The biggest issue I have is that I can’t see the keyboard when I type, so I have to tap out of the messaging box to proofread, but if I want to change a word or anything, I have to delete my entire message and start all over. I have to rely on voice text to get it done but voice to text, but it isn’t always perfect, so sometimes the message will come across with a totally different meaning than what I intended. Also, the fact that the map took a week to become available. And now the only way to initiate a conversation with somebody is based on the map (it wasn’t that way until this afternoon), so I have to swipe around the screen and search areas versus the Tinder approach (how it was the first 5-6 days) where profiles would show up as you go through them, so now, it’s not as easy to find a good match. It’s highly disappointing. This app has been out for over two years and it’s one of the most glitchy apps besides Grindr. Also advertising that David Archuleta is on Archer, but not ever getting a response back from him is a stupid marketing approach. I’ve also been informed from other Archer users that they have their own glitches that they deal with in the app. If the glitches go away, I will reconsider my rating. Until then, it stays at a one star.

### 1/5 — Stupid map feature

*2026-01-30, version 32.1.0*

Whatever idiot thought putting a map as the main face instead of actual profiles should be fired.

### 2/5 — Fraud

*2026-01-29, version 32.0.1*

If you want to he accused of stuff you didn’t do, download this app or any this owner has.

### 1/5 — All Bots, no bros

*2026-05-04, version 35.2.0*

Archer seemed really promising at first. I loved the idea of being able to see the location of the people I was chatting with, making sure they were actually in my city, and being able to see their face upfront. All of that felt exciting—especially for a free app—and it gave the impression that Archer was trying to bring more transparency and safety to gay dating. At launch, it honestly felt like it could be something different and refreshing.
Unfortunately, that excitement didn’t last long. Every single match I’ve made has either been a bot or someone who clearly wasn’t located anywhere near me, despite what the app claimed. I’ve run into multiple situations where people used fake photos, chatted with me briefly, then blocked me—only to reappear later with the same picture, a new name, a different age, and a different location. This keeps happening, which makes it feel like there’s zero real verification or accountability. That’s incredibly frustrating and, more importantly, concerning from a safety and security standpoint.
This app was marketed as something that would revolutionize gay dating and hookups, but over the past few months I honestly haven’t reaped a single benefit from using it. Ironically, I’ve had better luck on Facebook Dating, which says a lot. Maybe Archer will improve in the future if they add real verification and crack down on fake accounts, but as it stands right now, it feels like a waste of time—and quite frankly, a potential breach of user security and safety. One star.

### 1/5 — Stopped working

*2026-04-22, version 35.1.0*

The latest update rendered this app
Unusable. It present an instruction screen telling you to swipe except it won’t go away whatever you do….please fix this!

### 1/5 — Just another Grindr

*2026-04-14, version 35.0.0*

They got rid of the old layout and changed it with the map. Now it’s just another hookup app. When are we going to be held to a higher standard?

### 1/5 — Gold profile I didn't sign up for

*2026-03-29, version 34.3.0*

I'm somehow a gold member and frightened I'll be charged for this app which is so terribly unpopulated with members that it serves no use. I don't understand as it's not listed in my subscriptions, and there's no way to manage my status of subscriptions in the app. Is this a desperate way the app is trying to get members to stay on?

### 1/5 — Map grid

*2026-03-22, version 34.3.0*

There’s no option to get rid of the map grid and return to the old layout of the app. It’s either your visible on map grid or invisible. Don’t feel comfortable sharing my location to a bunch of strangers.

### 1/5 — Terrible App and waste of time.

*2026-03-19, version 34.3.0*

My account was closed out for violating terms but I wasn’t even given a warning. They never told me what I did. If I would’ve guessed, I would say that posting a status letting people know that I’m a tarot reader and I do soulmate readings was violating their term but instead of sending me a message and letting me know this is not OK you need to remove that. They just go ahead and close out the entire account. Nice app. LOL It’s so glitchy and does not work well on the iPhone. I have NO idea what I did that got my account shut down. Oh well. It wasn’t a good app anyway. See ya, Archer. It wasn’t nice knowing ya. Good luck to all the lonely guys out there.

### 1/5 — Too many glitches!

*2026-03-16, version 34.2.0*

This app is OK, but there are too many glitches… It’s just not working right on my iPhone 11 max Pro. When I try to type in messages, my keyboard blocks the message box so I can’t see what I’m typing. It’s hard to get to people’s profiles and scroll up and down. The map doesn’t work right. It’s just not user-friendly at all.

### 1/5 — Bot heavy

*2026-03-05, version 34.0.0*

By far the most fake profiles I have ever seen on a gay dating app, 80% of the profiles I talk to are not real.

### 1/5 — Wrongful ban

*2026-02-14, version 32.1.0*

Made the account, 5 min later my account gets banned

### 1/5 — Map view?

*2026-02-13, version 32.1.0*

The map view is insane. People being able to see exactly where you are is so unsafe. Downloaded it 2 minutes ago and I’m already deleting it

*2025-12-02, version 30.2.1*
