## What is Archetype?

Archetype is a tactical strategy card game.

Build your collection, create decks, and play turn-based matches against other players. Queue for ranked games, challenge friends, track your match history, and climb the leaderboard through careful sequencing, timing, and strategy.

Archetype is powered by Draw Two, an open-source engine for strategy card games.

Sign in with email, Google, or Apple, and receive push notifications when it is your turn.

Getting started is easier with improved sign-up and a ready-to-play starter deck. We’ve also made matchmaking more reliable and polished opening-hand and combat animations for smoother play.

Improved targeting, Hero Power, and creature placement flows. Added clearer hero details, clarified empty-deck endings, and fixed several interface issues.

New Triggered and Silence abilities, clearer trait badges, smoother combat animations, and fixes for Taunt, card draws, and summoned creatures.

Improved game flow for PvE and rapid matches.

PvE games now keep you in the current match instead of automatically jumping to another available turn, unless a rapid ranked game needs your attention. Rapid ranked games also stay focused until they’re finished. PvE turns no longer send push notifications or app badge alerts.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-07-06

This update adds smoother in-game animations, richer hero details while editing decks, smarter PvE opponent behavior, and a cleaner practice opponent list.

It also reduces unnecessary turn notifications while you are already active in a live game, plus general fixes and polish.
