However a bit repetitive if you consume their other media forms such as YouTube and Instagram. Also I notice most of the pages are ads, I don’t want to pay a subscription to see the same Miele ad in 3 consecutive issues ### 2/5 — Can never sign in *2026-05-23* Have been continuous subscriber Almost every month I have great difficulty or simply cannot sign in to digital version ### 2/5 — Doesn’t actually download issues *2026-05-21* When you’re offline and you try to read issues you’ve downloaded (you can tell because they have a checkmark next to the title), the pages are blank and you get a message that you won’t be able to read it without network access. What, then, was the point of downloading the issue? This is on an iPad mini, latest generation, latest iOS. ### 2/5 — Makes me resign in constantly, no option for full screen *2026-04-22* This app used to be way better. It constantly boots me out, and when I go to sign in, it has a “continue” button that doesn’t make me sign in, so why the boot? Also it used to let you go full screen without the menu bar always present, and now there’s no option for that. It’s a lot less immersive that way. Also wish there was a way to max out the picture quality, some still appear blurry. Good content though ### 2/5 — Please full screen it *2025-10-09, version 5.9* Really weird this app won’t let me do away with the menu bar and black out the margins around the magazine page. It used to let you do that, and I also feel the images used to be much higher quality (can notice a distinct fuzziness or blur on many while browsing). If there’s a setting I’m missing, I’m all ears! ### 4/5 — Lovely *2025-02-18* This publication is sophisticated. It does a splendid job of curating and inspiring interior design ideas and related designers. Adding to all of this are celebrities. Yes, AD features their homes too. The results? Sublimely elegant content. Why a 4 Star rating? I would love to see more industrial design. I would also interviews with overlooked industrial architects — especially young and overlooked ones. ### 3/5 — $7.99 monthly cost? *2024-04-23, version 5.7* I love the digital magazine. My only concern is that my I-phone app does not advise of the cost in the app description. Only AFTER I downloaded it was I informed of a $7.99 monthly cost. Hidden costs like this take up space on my I phone! ### 3/5 — Why can’t I click on and expand photos on AD iPad App? *2024-03-23, version 5.7* I am a paid subscriber and can no longer appear to click on and expand photos displayed in the AD app on an iPad Pro, which is HIGHLY ANNOYING! Especially since so many photos are otherwise tiny or quite small and can’t be clearly seen at their displayed size. Whichever genius at AD decided this was a good idea, or is oblivious to this fact, should re-examine their career choice, and get up-to-date on current user design standards. Also - AD is getting ever smaller in terms of both content and advertising. A feature that is not currently available for this app, but absolutely should be, is the landscape mode. Inability to see an entire image of a two-page layout (which is typically used for the featured article) is incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Even on a one page layout, you are constrained to the width of portrait mode when zooming in on a landscape photograph. Please, please, please add this feature and I will update this review immediately. ### 1/5 — Convoluted Subscription Sign Up Process *2022-12-12, version 5.2* Very difficult to sign up for a subscription. My card was charged before I submitted any of my my sign in credentials , now I cannot sign in . But I love the extra pictures and the ability to see the latest issues before it arrives in my mailbox as well as back issues I’ve long since recycled. The only thing that is missing from this app as a way to share articles from within the app. I wish I could share my favorite articles with my friends. Ok, I’m asked to sign in every time .. but why whenever I launch the app it ask me to subscribe? When I sign in , it either opens or freeze… so I close it and move to something else because I just lose interest. ### 1/5 — Paid for digital all access subscription cannot access site *2025-03-31* Whenever I try to sign in on the site to download an issue, I am told I have no account and offered a new subscription. I had to email customer support to get step by step instructions. Just renewed my subscription directly through AD, but the app will not recognize my new subscription account. The “Link print subscription” option only displays my old expired subscriptions. Being able to zoom allowed to look into small details, which are as important as the big picture, sometimes more as they all together make the big picture. I wish they would bring it back. I asked and was told most likely not; so sad. Update 2/2/20: They brought the zoom in function back, which is great. The magazine still has some minor glitches, especially when swiping pages or the occasional mistake of having the incorrect footnote, however, the content is always great. I love this magazine and will continue to get it. **Developer response:** The latest version of the app features optimized content for phone and tablet with zoom. ### 5/5 — Totally useless app *2020-01-31* What happened? A perfectly fine way to read AD was made essentially useless by redesign. Without a text zoom feature, you can no longer read the text on an iPad. Without the picture zoom feature, you can no longer see details in photos up close. If you can’t read the type and can’t enlarge the pictures, what good is this app? Very disappointed with this. I will stop reading until a fix is made. The recent necessary fix to this app completely made it useful and loved again. The new format is old, boring and one cannot amplify the pictures with two fingers, in fact, they took off that feature, leaving little pictures and a “demodé “ look. We are in the 21st Century, the old format was more high tech than this boring format.
