You can watch ads for stars, and some chests can only be opened with stars. Some doors that need to be opened are necessary to continue playing as well but you can find stars while playing. I think it’s possible to finish the game without watching ads. I really only chose to watch ads because I don’t to grind for too long. In all honesty, you actually don’t even need to grind that much. That’s how easy this game is. I don’t hate the game for that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -Spoiler alert!- However, its biggest flaw is its story-telling. The exposition can be tiring. A significant portion of the dialogue doesn’t quite make sense to me. So the serpent ‘s cronies are avarice, lust, rancor, thirst for knowledge, and *affection*? Is that just a mistranslation? I am aware that the Japanese language is very deep. There are multiple ways to read and interpret each character/word/phrase. Perhaps the translator wasn’t able to find single words that fit can the context because there are no English equivalents. Furthermore, the plot feels contrived. There is a lack of character development. Most of all, I wasn’t moved at all. I only felt a teeny tiny twinge in my heart at the very last scene during the credits. I think the issues on plot and character development stem from its shortness. However, I understand that the more effort exerted in making a game, the more resources would be needed.
