### 2/5 — Ugh

*2024-05-31*

The app itself is ok but the reliability of the AC is horrible. I’m constantly having to delete the device from the app and add it back because it randomly goes offline for no reason. I purchased a WiFi enabled AC because the unit is located in an area that’s hard to get to and I also wanted something I could turn on and off remotely to save power when I’m away.

### 2/5 — Add siri support please

*2022-09-22, version 1.0.9*

The developers did the bare minimum with this app just so they can advertise it on the box.
The app has no support for automation, voice control, or anything. They don’t even update it unless something catastrophic breaks

### 3/5 — Good but needs improvements

*2021-06-25, version 1.0.9*

Everything is okay for the most part but I have connectivity issues. For some reason it doesn’t work properly when my phone is connected to my WiFi so I usually have to turn my WiFi off then it responds okay

### 3/5 — Update Please!

*2020-09-27, version 1.0.7*

I love the convenience of this app becuse we use our ac every single night, but every time a new iOS update comes out, this app starts crashing. I’ve tried to open it 6 times and it opens for 1/2 second and crashes. Please update!

### 2/5 — Great idea, terrible execution

*2020-09-02*

I’m being generous with 2 stars here. This app is the worst one I keep on my phone. I bought this ac because of the ability to control it from my phone but it is constantly glitching. Every time I open it, it has lost the connection and I have to log back in. That not a huge deal but it’s lame and shouldn’t be a recurring problem.
But the biggest problem that has me ready to replace it is that I now cannot log in at all. I keep getting an error message.
What makes it worse is the physical remote doesn’t work and never really has so I have to struggle to get of the stuff blocking access to the device. That’s the exact reason I wanted WiFi access.
This inability to log in and after trying everything else I had to delete the ac and set it up all over again. They must have hired the owners 15 year old nephew to design the app.

### 1/5 — G A R B A G E

*2020-09-02, version 1.0.7*

Concept is great but the execution is terrible app so bugged not even raid can kill them garbage app recommend buy a different a/c unit #boycott

### 1/5 — Chinese app

*2020-08-28, version 1.0.7*

This is only the second Chinese made app I’ve installed, and it’s just incredible how poorly written they are. Zero QA. Mine regularly shows Celsius, and never stays logged in.

### 4/5 — Air Filter?

*2020-08-22, version 1.0.7*

I clean my air filter but every time I open the app the stupid thing comes up that says “clean air filter”???

### 3/5 — Basic functionality, not optimized for US

*2020-08-20*

I really appreciate the opportunity to control my AC: it’s used in our bedroom during the night only. I set a schedule to cool early, and another to turn it off in the morning. All well and good.
My challenge with the system is that while you can set the system for Imperial (Fahrenheit) measurements, the schedule is metric only.
If they are going to keep it metric, would appreciate 1/2 degree increments, as 22 is a little too cool, and 23 is too warm.
Can there be a spinner to set the temperature instead of the dial? Hard to control accurately.
More of a hardware request than app, but would love to see HomeKit compatibility in the future...

### 1/5 — Almost Useless

*2020-08-12, version 1.0.6*

It works correctly about 20% of the time. Fails to connect and when it does connect it takes 10 seconds for a screen to load. Without a doubt, the worst app on my iPhone.

### 3/5 — Schedule is only in celsius

*2020-08-10, version 1.0.6*

The schedule is only available in celsius, so even if you convert your desired fahrenheit (72) to celsius (22), as soon as it runs the schedule, it resets everything else to celsius. Otherwise, it works pretty well, with an occasional disconnect from the Midea server within the app.

### 2/5 — 4042 error

*2020-08-10*

Ever since getting the app, there is a 80% chance I will get the error 4042 and will be unable to use the app for a while. This is also a problem with the Google and Alexa features, I’ve only gotten my google to do something with my AC once since having it for 3 months now. Google will say something like “unable to connect to app” and not do anything.

The idea is great, if these problems ever get fixed I will be happy to change my review to a 5 star because the idea is amazing.

### 4/5 — Please fix scheduling stuck in Celsius.

*2020-07-26, version 1.0.6*

Great app. Love it. But please fix scheduling. Even though I have settings set to fahrenheit it shows Celsius.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Wont connect

*2025-09-11, version 1.0.9*

Why have an app that drops connections as soon as it tries to sync up . Dozens of attempts all fine until it finalizes then says start over…

### 1/5 — Not working

*2024-06-30, version 1.0.9*

The app usually works well enough for me but lately it hasn’t been working it keeps saying my ac is offline which is ridiculous

### 1/5 — It’s a bad app

*2024-06-07, version 1.0.9*

It’s 2024 I feel like as a society we have the technology to make apps that actually work. It’s very rare for the app to work most of the time it just says an error occurred and doesn’t do anything.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2022-07-25, version 1.0.9*

My arctic king portable a/c unit won’t work correctly unless it’s connected to WiFi. Well, now that I’ve upgraded my WiFi, the a/c cannot connect to my WiFi at all. So every 2 minutes I have to unplug my unit to reset it so it’ll stop beeping and actually turn on.

### 1/5 — Garbage App

*2022-05-21, version 1.0.9*

Invoke Interface Error! Please First Sign In SDK. What Ever!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2021-06-28, version 1.0.9*

This app barely works

### 1/5 — Frustrated

*2021-06-17*

Got my ac connected to my WiFi with no problem then my power went off for awhile then came back on. When I went to try to turn on my ac with the app it said it was offline and when I tried to it said something and it wouldn’t let me so I deleted it and tried doing everything all over again but it still wouldn’t let me and I tried connecting my ac to my WiFi and had a really hard time and I’m so frustrated because I can’t connect my ac to my WiFi…

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2021-06-14*

If you are hoping to control the unit by either this App or a third party device then I suggest you buy a different AC unit or brand. I have never tried to develop an app but I don’t advertise that I can or offer one to control anything I sell. This app is a joke and complete waste of time and energy to connect. It doesn’t matter what you do or how many times you do it it doesn’t connect so you cannot under any circumstances control the unit with your smart device or third party device, such as Alexa or Google home. I am disabled and have connected many devices and can say with confidence that I know how to do it and this ac unit will not connect to my WiFi. FACT! I would not have even given that lonely single star but I cannot leave a review or vent my frustrations without it.

### 1/5 — App keeps crashing

*2020-09-27, version 1.0.7*

App keeps crashing

### 1/5 — Update: New Firmware Failures on Both Units.

*2020-09-03*

Since both units upgraded to v4.0.4 they have been shutting down randomly. Then entire unit display would just flash with "03". Also when logging in, I'd get an error message "[4042] Control failed, please try again". I NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES PRIOR TO THIS so called Firmware upgrade. Support says it's a "sensor failure" without further details, now I have to send in pictures for further assistance. I may update results later. I also don't understand why he also said I should be using the Midea A/C App when this is clearly a Arctic King product.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2026-05-02*

I brought the Arctic King portable AC in, set it up, and downloaded this app. I put in my wifi password, and off I went. I’ve never even used it manually. I’ve just used the app, and it works perfectly.

### 5/5 — 8000 btu window air conditioner

*2025-10-08, version 1.0.9*

Well unit’s been working for about a month now. No problems, WiFi works. Remote works. App works. Cools down perfectly. No issues.

### 5/5 — Great

*2022-08-28, version 1.0.9*

Works great with my iPad Pro and my galaxy s20 ultra

### 5/5 — Good AC great app features!

*2022-07-09*

Works great! Bought one of these ac unit’s last year for the kids room as I wanted to be able to control remotely. Worked Better then expected and can even turn on the ac from the car before we get home to cool down the room for bed time. Bought another unit this year for our master bedroom even though our prior ac still worked. I just wanted the same convenience for our room to control the temp. Also works great as expected! Plan to get another in of these units next year for another part of the house. Just wish they made a larger btu size unit with the wireless feature.

### 5/5 — Two years so far

*2022-04-02*

I’ve had this arctic king for 2 years so far so good A/C always been really cold even at 69 temp but love the app when I’m at the gym I always turn it on before I leave so that way I’m going home my house will be cool by the time I get there and I live in Texas heat isn’t a joke out here and I maintain the filter cleaning to keep the A/C cool as always. Thanks arctic king for making this happen love the product 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽✅✅🔥🔥🔥🥶🥶🥶🥶

### 5/5 — Love it

*2021-05-23*

Everything works great so not sure what’s up with everyone giving it terrible reviews. I wish it would work with Siri but no worries Siri is trash anyways. Been using it with google home along with everything else in my home and it’s been top notch when I need to use it.

### 5/5 — Best A/C I’ve had

*2020-10-16*

So I’ve had my Arctic King window unit for around 6 months now and I couldn’t be happier. Most come with remotes, but this comes with a remote PLUS a phone connectivity feature. It’s so convenient to just open the app when I get hot late at night lying in bed and just pop on the A/C without looking for a remote, not to mention getting up. If you’re a right lazy person, this is the A/C for you😂splendid product.

### 5/5 — Awesome Window Unit

*2020-06-13, version 1.0.5*

I live in Texas where heat is a way of life. Our central air went out and we needed something to cool the main room, kitchen and hall of our home. I bought the 10000 BTU. It was quite an investment but we needed something we could truly count on in this Texas heat. Even when it is over 100 degrees outside, we can stay comfortable. I have had it go offline twice in the last 2 months and found power cycling it by unplugging it for 20 seconds does the trick. The app works fine for me on my iPad and my wife on her on phone. I especially like the feature to tell Alexa to change the temperature or turn it off. It works so well in fact, that we never use the remote control. The economy feature works well to have it cycle just as my central air does. I am reading that some people seem to not be rating it as highly as I am. I am truly surprised. I really think that, though it was not the cheapest on the market, this window unit, with all of it’s features and cooling a larger than recommended area well was a good value. Eventually we will be able to get my central air fixed. In the meantime, this window unit is keeping us cool and comfortable.

Scott - Dallas Texas.

### 5/5 — 10/10

*2020-06-09*

A/C works and connects without any issues, When I’m out of the area and need to change some settings on the A/C the app connects to the A/C again without any issues. *A/C has to have a stable network connection to work with- won’t work with crappy service keep that in mind before buying the unit*

### 5/5 — Crazy

*2020-06-03, version 1.0.5*

All I can say is that wow this 10000 btu ac unit is AMAZING we just got it this year and it’s awesome it works as a dehumidifier also so when I got home from work it was 95 outside I come home and ya it’s working hard I live in a mobile home so it’s hard to cool but it 73 degrees but it actually felt like 70 because it has been sucking the humidity out of the air well worth the investment
