## What is Argue?

Argue helps you spend less time in the apps you keep opening on autopilot.

Instead of just blocking distractions, Argue makes you pause and make your case. When you try to open an app you chose to limit, Argo, your AI screen time coach, asks what you are doing and why it matters. If your reason holds up, you can earn a short, timed break. If not, the app stays blocked and you get back to what you meant to do.

Argue is built for people who do not want another passive screen time chart. It turns the moment before you scroll into a conversation, then helps you notice the patterns behind it.

What you can do with Argue:

- Block distracting apps with Apple's Screen Time controls
- Talk with Argo before opening a blocked app
- Earn timed access when you have a real reason
- Track streaks and daily progress
- See which apps are taking the most time
- Challenge friends and compare focus progress
- Personalize Argo with colors and accessories
- Let Argo remember goals, patterns, and past check-ins

Use Argue for social media, video apps, games, and any other app that keeps pulling you back in. Set your limits, choose your blocked apps, and let Argo help you pause before the habit wins.

Argue is not about guilt. It is about making the next choice a little more intentional.

### 2/5 — was good, then started using randomly canned responses, not actual llm

*2026-08-08*

it would just say ermm "where do you think you're going? hold up let's talk about this," not responding to me saying "i have 3 opens, id like to use one" basically nulling the efficacy. doesn't work if the llm function doesn't. my goal isn't to abstain from tech like a monk, it's to reduce screen time, having guaranteed locks on it and guaranteed opens to a certain amount has been enough, until it decided to start acting up.

### 5/5 — Saving My Life

*2026-06-10*

I was honestly getting fried by my phone and spending infinite time on it and Argo is saving me I’ve never felt more alive ts so tuff

### 5/5 — Great App!!

*2026-05-15*

This App is cool! It helps me to manage my screen time.

### 5/5 — Would rate it 6 stars if possible

*2026-05-09*

Initially downloaded this because I thought the concept was cool, but this genuinely changed my relationship with my phone. I tried clearspace and other phone-blocking apps but only on this one did my screentime drop DRASTICALLY. Finally get more time back doing what I should actually be doing anyways

### 5/5 — The only thing that stopped my instagram addiction

*2026-05-09*

Having to explain myself and the self accountability is surprisingly effective

### 5/5 — Really helps with screen time

*2026-05-08*

Super cool app! Really helps my scrolling habit and blocking distracting apps

### 5/5 — I’m not biased but this is great

*2026-05-08*

Totally not biased

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 2.2.1 — 2026-08-26

The block screen now tells you where you stand.

When a blocked app throws up the shield, it shows how much of your daily allowance you have already spent — "2/4 uses today" — so the choice to argue with Argo is an informed one instead of a blind one.

• Your daily opens count now appears right on the block screen.
• Fixed a crash when asking Argo about your screen time.
• Argo is quicker and steadier in conversation.

Small release. Mostly about knowing the cost before you pay it.

### 2.2 — 2026-06-13

When your timed break ends, Argue locks the app — every time.

We rebuilt how reblocks work so they hold up even when iOS pauses Argue in the background. If something looks off when you come back, Argue repairs it on the spot.

• Reliable reblocks after timed breaks, even when Argue has been suspended.
• Steadier chat with Argo — no more stray messages after you close the conversation.
• Smoother Screen Time setup when you switch in and out of the app.

Quieter than 2.1, but the kind of quiet that means the blocks actually hold.

### 2.1 — 2026-05-16

Faster, smoother, and a handful of polish fixes:

• Cold launches are roughly 3× faster — open Argue and start arguing.
• Screen time trends and history now show accurate numbers.
• Smoother dashboard scrubbing: no more 3-day cap when dragging the date dial, and the chart stays bright while you scrub.
• Easier to add blocked apps — full row is tappable in the app-name search.
• Small visual polish in the blocker.

### 2.0 — 2026-05-07

No release notes.
