ARGUS is a learning app designed by Lighthouse Learning for parents and students to support holistic and hybrid learning Argus, a digital learning ecosystem provides a seamless and enjoyable learning experience for learners both in school and at home. It is based on our philosophy of personalizing learning by encouraging students and teachers to collaborate, critique and create, and most importantly, welcoming parents to partner in their child’s journey by providing them with timely information and counsel. The Argus ecosystem brings the three stakeholders – students, parents and teachers together on the same platform. Argus Student Students learn from and engage with digital media (digital book, videos and quizzes). Concepts and content are reinforced through Check Your Progress quizzes and interactive videos. Students then get practice by solving worksheets. Application based activities and videos enable students to apply concepts to real-world situations, thus making learning meaningful and relevant. Experiential learning is integrated in the whole course where students apply their knowledge of concepts through engaging in projects, in keeping with the NEP 2020 recommendations. Other features, such as the Learning Network, Online Assessments, Projects and Homework submissions further cement the students’ learning. Argus Teacher A dynamic application designed exclusively for our teachers with lesson plans, tips and resources, and professional development courses at their fingertips. It helps in assigning homework and assess submissions, thus completing the teaching-learning cycle. Teachers can also track the journey and growth of each student easily in real-time, eliminating the need for unnecessary paperwork. Argus Parent Designed specifically for parents to take part in their child’s overall development. Involving and engaging parents in their child’s learning journey has shown positive learning outcomes. When students have support at home, they not only finish their assignments on time but are also engaged with their studies. Argus Parent allows parents to see their child’s progress through detailed analytics and pinpoints strengths as well as areas for development on a real-time basis. Please introduce a single login for both the parent and student instead of requiring separate logins for different features. Having to switch between Parent ID and Student ID is inconvenient and confusing. A unified login with access to all relevant features would make the app much more user-friendly. 2. The app does not consistently send notifications for important updates, assignments, circulars, or announcements. Parents may miss important information if they do not open the app regularly. Timely push notifications should be enabled for all important updates. Improving these two features would greatly enhance the overall user experience. Having separate parental controls and student controls makes the experience unnecessarily confusing. What’s even more illogical is that while students are restricted from accessing the app store using their credentials, they are still allowed to make tuition fee payments. If store access is blocked for security reasons, allowing financial transactions from the same account is inconsistent and makes little sense.
