## What is ArirangX?

Talk with the world in your own language. ArirangX is where people meet over Korean culture — make friends worldwide, video call with live translated captions, and chat without a language barrier.

NEW: JUST SAY IT
In a 1:1 chat, tap the mic and talk. ArirangX writes down what you say and sends it with a translation, so your friend reads it in their own language.

WHY PEOPLE LOVE ARIRANGX
• Live translated captions on 1:1 video calls — speak naturally and read what they say in your language
• Chats that translate themselves — you write in yours, they read in theirs
• Voice input that turns what you say into a translated message
• Meet people who share your interests — K-pop, K-dramas, webtoons, travel, food and more
• Madang: share posts, photos and videos up to 5 minutes, reply to each other, and find your people
• Send gifts, from a coffee to a rocket — gifts you receive turn into call time
• Free beauty filters on every video call
• Save the photos and videos friends send you straight to your Photos
• Private by design — no cross-app tracking, and we never sell your data

LANGUAGE IS NEVER A BARRIER
Speech recognition works in 60 languages, and chat messages translate into more than 100. On a video call, ArirangX listens and shows live captions of what the other person says, already in your language. Photos, videos, voice messages and your location can go along too.

MEET THE WORLD
Find people who love what you love, and practice the language you're curious about with a real person. Browse People, follow someone on Madang, say hello in chat, and start a video call when you're ready.

GIFTS THAT MEAN SOMETHING
Say it with a gift. Send coffee, roses, a gift box, a crown or a rocket during a call or in chat. It's a playful way to show appreciation — and every gift you receive becomes free translated call time.

WHY THE NAME ARIRANGX
Arirang is Korea's most beloved folk song — about crossing every hill together, however far the road. We named the app after it to keep hearts connected across any distance or language.

Go unlimited with a VIP subscription: unlimited real-time translation and unlimited video calls with no daily limits, plus a VIP badge that stands out on your profile and in calls.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.6 — 2026-10-27

• Arirang is now ArirangX — a new name, a new icon and a fresh dark design.
• Coins are now called Stars, with new 3D animations for gifts and Stars.
• Four tabs at the bottom: People, Chat, Madang and MyPage.
• People: see friends on the Map, and who just joined in New.
• MyPage: make your digital business card and share it by QR code when you choose. Cards you receive can be saved to Contacts.
• Message yourself: a private chat at the top of People.
• K-Beauty and Speak are now at the top of Chat, and Face to face is now called Interpreter.
• Speaking practice: hear the native pronunciation, and play back your own recording.
• Madang loads faster.
• Pick a message sound in Settings → Notifications.

### 1.2.5 — 2026-10-14

• People: find someone by their profile ID (@ID) or by pasting their profile link.
• Madang: the heart (like) on posts now works on profiles, in search results and on topic pages, too.
• Fixed chat messages that sometimes stayed untranslated and titles that could shrink too small.

### 1.2.4 — 2026-10-12

• New: in Live Translate, record a caption video of up to 30 seconds — what you say and its translation appear right on the video — then share it to your favorite apps.
• The new Live Translate · K-Beauty tab: speak and see your words translated live over your camera, or choose Face to face to talk with someone in front of you.
• Speaking practice: read short sentences aloud and see how closely Arirang understood you.
• If your call alert can't reach the other person's phone, you'll see a note so you can send a message first.
• Captions now appear faster when you pause.

### 1.2.3 — 2026-10-07

• A fresh new app icon.
• To keep conversations safe, you now need a profile photo to start a chat, send messages and make video calls. You can still browse People, Madang and profiles without one.
• Choosing a profile photo no longer asks for access to your photo library.
• Replies in chats are easier to read.
• If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also disconnects Arirang from your Apple Account.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-10-04

• NEW: Voice input in 1:1 chats — tap the mic, speak in your language, and Arirang sends what you said with a translation.
• NEW: Save photos and videos from chats straight to your Photos.
• A cleaner chat: the time sits beside each bubble, and photos and videos show without frames.
• See upload progress on photos and videos, cancel anytime, and send files up to 300 MB.
• Chat rooms open faster from your chat list.
• Madang full screen, redesigned: media in the center, likes and replies at the bottom, and simple video controls.
• Madang videos can be up to 5 minutes, and you can mark a post as made with AI.
• Ending a call from the lock screen now ends it in Arirang too.
• For your security, an account stays signed in on one device at a time — signing in on a new device signs out the old one.
• Live captions reconnect on their own after a brief network drop.
• Smoother animations throughout the app.
