This is an excellent methog (game!) to help motivate the students to learn their facts. Thanks! ### 4/5 — Space invaders meets number skills *2012-01-16* The app does well what it sets out to do - provide practice and reinforcement for basic math skills. Good graphics and overall appeal good. The robotic voice suits the space theme but is sometimes difficult to hear. And I found the firing buttons a little too close to the direction arrows - I often hit the firing button when meaning to hit the direction arrow, especially when first learning how the app operated. I had my 10 year old try it and she did not like it. I think that is only because she is in fourth grade and above this level of math. It would be nice to be able to customize the numbers being presented so that students working on certain numbers could get practice with just the numbers they are ready for. Also for the younger kids either shorten the written stuff before pages or have them narrated for the beginning readers. The planet theme is a fun bonus they really wanted to move up the planet levels. It would be nice if you could save different users so that each player would have to unlock all the levels in progression. Right now,once the levels are unlocked they are open to anyone. I doubt it's really the game though. The included solar system facts are a nice addition to the theme as well. Not a bad little skill practice app with Space Invaders style graphics. It probably won't hold a child's attention for days, but decent for several 15 to 20 minute practice sessions. For children that need more time for computation, this game may be a little fast and frustrating.
