Grew up with both games. Arkanoid was ground breaking in its revision of the simple breakout game. But this? Not for me. You just spend your time batting battle enemy fire randomly hitting invaders and eventually the levels clear! You don’t even look where you’re targeting, I’d take either game, but not this. Space invaders étant également un grand classique, le croisement des deux détonne : c’est très bien fichu, et les niveaux sont de plus en plus difficiles. Je regrette juste qu’il y ait cette manie de complexification à tout-va, notamment avec les personnages dont on ne comprend pas très bien comment les pouvoirs sont activés. Il y en a beaucoup, beaucoup trop, et au final ils ne servent pas à grand chose, si ce n’est nous perd un petit peu : cela lui fait perdre une étoile. Deeply sorry for the inconvenience. ### 2/5 — neither Arkanoid nor Space Invaders *2024-12-05, version 1.0.3* I’ve played Space Invaders on & off since the early 1980s & Arkanoid, then Arkanoid 2 since they came out a few years later. This doesn’t remind me of either of them - it’s just a rush to ricochet back as much stuff as you can without taking in (or even needing to take in) the lay-out of each level. No time for tactics or accurate positioning, just get in the way of whatever’s being dropped until the level ends. Far too many boxes of dialogue between levels, & even when English has been selected, the spoken language isn’t English. Is the game unfinished or is this a style choice? This is reminiscent of so many ‘bullet hell’ games - frenzied, but short bursts of what purports to be gameplay interspersed with l o n g trawls through unnecessary & ultimately unread dialogue boxes & other over-stuffed screens that just don’t matter. The hard levels are juuuuust hard enough that I get frustrated, try a few different characters, eventually get it, then move on. I agree with some reviews that it can feel more like you win by random chance sometimes, but for the most part it’s a skill thing. And for people that are complaining about it not being just Space Invaders? I would suggest Galaga+. My actual issue is that when you have a skill that only functions during attack, you lose any remaining time on your skill when the attack ends. Anyway, I beat it. Looking forward to updates. Also, what’s the deal with the “tap Nadia icon” challenge? Never seen a Nadia icon, don’t know where to look for them.
