Which is just insane, it does tell you to plan ahead of time and to calculate but when one trip can be 20 minutes and the next day it’s more than an hour there’s no way you can calculate correctly. ### 1/5 — Complaint *2025-11-17, version 4.22.2* What’s the point of via’s if they’re almost never available. ### 2/5 — Ignore the Real-time Tracking! *2025-11-10, version 4.22.2* Nov 10, 2025 This is regarding the Handitran service side of the app only It’s been well over a year since we’ve used this service, and it was called Via then, so this is the first time under the new title (new company as well?) of Arlington Transportation. Scheduling rides is very easy and straightforward, even though it usually has to be done at least a day or two in advance. But for Handitran service that is expected and generally not a problem. We were given a 30 minute window for when the driver will be picking us up, which is just fine. If they had just stopped there, this would be a five star rating. But no… Someone decided to add real-time driver tracking on a map, just like all the other driving apps, and whoever decided to do that didn’t know what they were doing! When we looked at the driver tracking, it showed him arriving at the far end of that 30-minute pick up window, so we were taking our time. Then the doorbell rang! You guessed it! It was the Handitran driver! As we are standing there talking, I get a notification from the app that said our driver was 30 minutes away! The driver explained that you simply cannot trust the map tracking in the app, or it’s notifications, and just be ready by the beginning of the half hour window we were given. Good to know! No other driving or delivery app, not even the old Via app, has had this problem for us for Years & Years! Only the Arlington Transportation app! They stand alone in not getting this foundational functionality of the entire thing done, in all this time. They need to simply remove that part of the app! Meanwhile, ignore it and be ready by the pick up window time, and you’ll be fine ### 1/5 — Does VIA read these reviews? *2025-11-10, version 4.22.2* I left a very detailed review of this app & service within weeks of using the service & it was not posted so I’ll try again: Arlington TX is the largest city in the country w/o a public transportation system. Allegedly lawmakers want to keep the riff raft out that public buses bring in. I don’t blame them but the Jokes on them bc I’ve taken plenty of VIA rides here in Arli with homeless/addicts & they smell or have no social awareness. this service is unreliable, you are on their time, support has the comprehension of 10 yr olds, babies/toddlers/small children are charged full price, curb to curb with no direction to get there is insane, drivers are annoying half of the time & treat the vehicle like it’s their personal car listening to their choice of music- drivers pay to rent the van so maybe that’s why but it’s not the passengers fault. Drivers also seem to be partially blind or ignorant-such as yelling “you have to have a car seat!” Literally while you’re holding it? Unless youre not in a rush and you can handle sorts of people in the same van as you....GOOD LUCK ### 2/5 — App issues *2025-10-21, version 4.22.2* The has a lot of issues and sometimes that routing is bad. ### 1/5 — This not a transportation APP *2025-10-19, version 4.22.2* Rough drivers, music loud, they drop you wherever they are please, I was even dropped 0.5 miles after the destination point. 2 drivers were extremely nice other than that meh Don’t run everyday, nor weekends, neither after 9 pm. The ETA isn’t reliable due to the routing of the drivers, the app itself add stops at its own discretion. Sometimes is almost impossible to find a car in between 2 and 4 pm on weekdays. I got the monthly pass and I have used it probably half of it due to lot of restrictions, no cars, no drivers, service not available in your area even though I’m in Arlington. Don’t get it ### 1/5 — Not worth it! *2025-10-17, version 4.22.2* I never write reviews, but I’ve been having issues with Via for a while now & have to write about it. Last year I used this app to get rides to school, but now I can’t get a ride for the life of me. When I try to get a ride to work, it takes up to an hour & a half to get picked up & dropped off which is really frustrating because it used to not be that way. I shouldn’t have to try to get a ride two hours before my clock in time at work if I can even get a ride in general. ### 3/5 — Pickup locations are horrible *2025-10-07, version 4.22.2* The locations are terrible and far from the addresses.The drivers ride past me and others to go these stops not taking into consideration of traffic and the drivers won’t answer the phone then cancel while ppl are waving them down. One driver opened the door to let someone out and the person he was picking up was getting in and the driver was dragging the passenger saying he wasn’t picking him up just to move a little to the actual pickup spot(which was a foot or 2 away). These drivers don’t use common sense and the pickup locations should be marked with an actual address or something before someone gets hurt physically. ### 1/5 — Via Arlington *2025-09-30, version 4.22.2* Nice drivers but horrible customer service and wait times! They don’t answer calls, don’t email or reach back out to you. Good to use if you have time but not if you need to be somewhere quickly. I’ve been using via for years because I have to and I’ve never got a headed over an app like this one. Want to go somewhere in 5 minutes? It’s gonna take 30. The vias are always ALWAYS late and it’s best to book an hour before you need to be somewhere. The customer service does not help and they will hang up on you if you try complaining. Horrible app hopefully you can get a car before you go through the troubles. ### 2/5 — Some drivers are so rude!! *2025-05-08, version 4.20.2* I have been using via for well over 4 months now every weekday for work. There are some good drivers that do converse with me sometimes and are even so courteous enough to drop me a little closer to my destination, however recently I have been getting such rude drivers being so mean for absolutely no reason. Idk if they have something against Asians or what, literally I just always wait right at my pick up spot and 3 times already I’ve had some driver drive way farther than the pick up says or give me such a hard time. One time I had a driver drive literally a block from what the destination was and he didn’t pull to the side of the street.. nope he literally stopped right in the middle of the road then got all mad when I called and told him I was at the pick up location. He said he was waiting on me.. sir you can’t park in front of a red light!! He then did a U-turn and expected me to cross the street when there were cars coming. Today I had a driver by the name of Ibrahim A who didn’t want to pick me up. I confirmed the license plate number and the app said my ride was here. I confirmed my name with him when he asked, yet he said “no your ride should be coming” and he drove off before I could say anything. I called to let him know I was indeed the pick up person and I even confirmed his name, but he said I had to meet him at a shopping center because that was the pick up spot when that in fact was not true. I told him I can’t walk all the way to the shopping center as that’s not even near me and that will waste the other passengers time. I don’t mind walking to my pick up destination, however no way in heck am I going to walk 5 blocks down just because the driver refused to let me in when I was already at the destination the app told me to be at. He continued to argue with me so I just hung up and contacted customer support. The lady was very kind and helpful however it shouldn’t have to come to that. I had to get a Lyft to make it to work. I’m a very introverted person and don’t like having to deal with any drama or stress so I may just have to cut back on using Via from here on out. ### 2/5 — Very inconvenient *2025-04-22, version 4.20.2* Simply put this service is inconvenient. The pick up and drop off points are kinda weird. Like you have to walk across the street just to get picked up. Even though there is a perfect spot to park near to me. And half the time the drop off it a block or two from where I set the marker. just recently, my drop off point was right at a traffic light, not some side street or parking lot, a traffic light. Like I don’t want to get out on the street and worry about cars hitting me. Apparently the drivers HAVE to follow the line exactly. Even though there was a small street where I could have been dropped off, the driver HAD to stay on the busy main road. It just doesn’t make any sense. I even heard another driver complain about this exact problem. Like this app feels dated in comparison to Lyft for example. When I set the marker, the car parks there, not two blocks over. The only good thing this app has going is the fact it’s cheap. You can buy a week pass, and even if you don’t, the fares are like 5 bucks or something. But it seems like you get what you pay for. I feel like This service just needs better gps systems or something. If there’s a perfect lot closer to me, just make pickup there. Plus it’s like, not aware of traffic lights apparently. Let the driver go where they need to go. Don’t lock them to a strict line. Lastly, I understand the wait times, it’s not always gonna be readily available. but if they just fixed these problems, I’d be more okay with it. There should be NO reason that after 30 minutes straight of trying to book a ride, I finally get a popup that asks me to verify the ride, just for the app to take FOREVER to verify it and then tell me there is no more room. This happened FOUR. TIMES. I depend on this app to get to work and on MULTIPLE occasions it has causes me to call off of work. As cheap as the rides are, it is still COMPLETELY unacceptable that the app is THIS bad. Fix it or just cancel Via as a whole thing altogether. I had the worse experience and each time I try to give it another chance it always ruins my week for how terrible the via vehicles are and how bad the drivers are. Again for 3-5 dollars it seems okay but only my last option ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time *2026-02-13, version 4.26.4* If I’m being honest, I despise via. I’ve been taking beer for about a year given that I’m 19. I don’t have my license just yet however I am in the process of getting it and let me tell you via is just about the worst review. I have ever left on an app. First of all in the app you’ll book a ride and it will tell you your your driver will be here in 20 minutes from where I live in from where the vehicle picks me up. It’s an eight minute walk. So of course I’m gonna leave about 10 minutes early to make sure I’m on time to the via however, as I’m walking the time will change from 10 minutes to 15-18 minutes. So that extra five-ish minutes I could have been doing something else that I did not prioritize to catch the via…. Secondly, about ride times, when you book the app, it’ll tell you your arrival is maybe 12 but then 12 comes around and your vehicle still isn’t here now it’s 12:05 they still aren’t here and all the time has changed to 12:10. Their timing is so inaccurate!!!! Third their app for the drivers is horrible. It’s very often and repetitive that the drivers will have to make constant U-turn and circles because the app is telling them to go in One Direction and it’s the complete opposite direction from where they need to be. They have the audacity to charge more for rides. Given that the Rides are cheaper then uber it’s like a slap on the face from via saying “we’re cheap” we don’t have to be considerate of you time …. But we have to be considerate of there time or we get left….. speaking of being unleft the drivers about 7/10 are unfriendly. If you can afford a UBER DO IT. Via is not for those using it to get to work or school….
