It uses revised orthography as was implemented by the soviets and remains in use in Armenia-proper today. It would get 5 stars, but since the giant speaker symbol (implying a pronunciation feature) is plastered on the app's icon, I had to ding them. The robotic voice is not very well programmed and sounds exactly like the spellmaster from 1980. It would be better, probably for an Armenia-n who needs an English reference tool (hyphen intended). Unfortunately the arm-eng part of the app has some bugs. Most of the time, when the engine does nor recognize the Armenian word, it freezes on the letter "հա..."! One problem is (as another reviewer pointed out) that the pronunciation function seems backwards. I am finding it challenging to find Armenian words because it is necessary to input them using English phonetic symbols. To make this app more user friendly, kindly provide a list of the phonetic symbols used for the Armenian letters. Also, several symbols for letters are incorrect. Please, check the k g t d f for starters. Furthermore, it seems your usage of phonetics has confused both eastern and western Armenian. I get English audio when I need Armenian and viceversa.
