Wishlist of app enhancements: 1) add tagging for items in favorites/lists to further filter. 2) Allow users to build outfits from their own saved items. ### 3/5 — So so experience *2025-11-03, version 1.32.0* The app is super glitchy. Lots of clothing that is well beyond is wearability or arrives to me stained, ripped or threadbare. Customer service leaves a bit to be desired as well. I have over a thousand pieces in my list to try, but very few are ever available. Shipping is decent, which is why I chose Armoire, but I wish they would require a signature simply due to where I live. They use fed ex who is notorious for leaving packages out in the middle of a busy Main Street. 6 out of 10 as far as clothing rental services. ### 3/5 — Great app that needs some fixes *2025-11-03* Love this app, can’t wait for the glitches to be fixed. While I’m looking through clothing it freezes and stops working and I have to restart from scratch and input all the filters all over again. When I am reviewing the clothes that I have at home, after each review, it freezes and I have to shut the app down and restart it to review the next item. I am sure armoire will be able to fix these things soon! ### 3/5 — Good options, glitches in service and app *2025-09-13, version 1.31.0* I’ve so far had an ok experience. Love clothes options and ease of delivery/return. Quick replies from customer service team. There have been TOO many glitches—app not working, box lost in warehouse and can’t get clothes I selected. They need to fix this to make this a great service. Especially given the price they charge. ### 4/5 — Glitchy? *2024-02-18, version 1.21.0* Soooo… trying to sign up and can’t get the style quiz to load. grrrrr…. ### 3/5 — Great clothes but very slow app! *2023-06-25* I love the clothes on the app (even if it takes a while to find something amazing — I tried the curation service twice too and usually only like a few items suggested) but the app is very slow! It’s noticeable when I load anything (eg what’s in my case, next page of clothing items, the feed) and sometimes it’ll take a few seconds to load. Also, whenever I try to use the app on the subway, I risk getting logged out when I lose connection while opening the app. ### 5/5 — Finally! A FIND button *2023-05-23* I loved the clothes but the app was so hard to navigate and search! They just updated their search function to sort by article or designer . I was almost ready to quit but now I’ll stick around for more great style. Thanks developers! ### 5/5 — The best way to build a case! *2023-05-03, version 1.18.0* I love having the Armoire app so I can jump in at night when putting the kids to bed and check out the new styles. My daughters also love to play the “Be The Buyer” game with me and decide if we’d like to “buy” the items for our closet. Also, doing reviews and uploading photos is 10000% easier in the app. Must have for members! ### 2/5 — Wow, that app needs some work! *2023-03-12, version 1.16.0* If they can't even get the style quiz to work correctly, I have little faith that the design service will work. One page didn’t have a button, another one the bottom covered the bottom section, and the page would scroll, and then when I made it to my closet, 3/4th of the images of my potential clothes said, “Image coming soon.” Ummm, not sure what’s happening here. ### 2/5 — Extremely limited options *2022-11-18* Signed up for the service 45 min ago. I cannot find 6 styles that i am truly excited about to complete my case and this is partially due to the fact that they curate a small selection at a time and it is hard/ impossible to find much beyond that. I considered the possibility that I may be slightly picky but I always had plenty of amazing options with Rent the Runway (the only problem with their service is that they don’t have an unlimited membership while Armoire does!). I think Armoire doesn’t have enough styles and they create this curated closet under the guise of helping you or saving you time but it is bizarre that I cannot browse a broad selection of their available items. In fact, i end up wasting more time because i keep trying to refresh the selection they send me to find items I like and all i get is mostly the same stuff over and over again but in different order. Extremely disappointed ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2025-11-10, version 1.32.0* With update I can't swap ### 1/5 — Be careful-they will take your money *2025-07-28, version 1.29.0* Expensive, hard to cancel, and so not worth the hassle. They manipulate you into “pausing” so you don’t lose all this money you’ve already put it, but that is just a game to keep you on the hook!! You’re not missing anything. The clothes look cheap and smell weird anyways, you could buy something nicer at a thrift store. Terrible customer service. Very inflexible with their predatory policies. Would give zero stars if I could. ### 1/5 — No actual stylist, items out of stock and cases are random *2024-11-26* Been with armoire for over 9 months. Put in a very specific list of things and colors I wear or don’t wear. Out of the 9 months and over $1000 spent I was able to only wear about 5 items. I finally just cancelled when they spent me a case “styled by a stylist” that had three XL items (I’m a m/l) and every item was a color I specifically send I don’t wear. Nothing went together, were random fabrics, and two random coats made out of pleather. One long trench coat and one a dirty baby blue crop jacket. (Specifically not a color I wear and specifically said I don’t wear anything cropped.) it is really like they choose the items with a dart board. ### 1/5 — Took $122 from my bank account for item I never rented months after cancelling my account *2024-09-01* Beware of this company! I was charged for $122 for an item I never rented in the first place and definitely never received (because I never rented it.) I also cancelled my account months prior to this happening. I’m currently disputing the charge with my bank and have reported this fraudulent charge to the BBB. If I don’t get my money back, the FTC is my next stop. Buyer Beware. Do not give this company access to your account numbers. ### 1/5 — Monthly case charge, no monthly case *2023-10-16* I received my first case and it was just okay. When I returned it, it took a very long time for them to accept the return (well over a week and a half). As you know with a monthly exchange, losing two weeks for the return is not ideal. Then when I tried building my next case there was almost nothing in my size. I mean even jeans. I wear a size 12 which should not be an uncommon size. Finally, after finding nothing available, I decided to let the stylist choose. They didn't read my profile to see that I was tall and sent me several items that could not even be worn because of length. Ankle or crop pants would be such an easy solve, but no, flare jeans that are three inches from the ground is what I got. Meanwhile I have already been charged for my third case, even though I'm just on the second one. I wrote to customer service to ask for a refund for the third case charge (since I just got my second) and gave the history. I wanted to be understanding and would have been happy continuing if they didn't charge me for a case I didn't receive. They responded by saying "to be transparent we do not give refunds. Read our Terms and Conditions" So if you don't have stuff in your size or the return takes a very long while to process, there is no accountability on their side. This is literally my first app review but I hope I'm able to save someone else a lot of wasted money. You're better off doing Stitch Fix. It will prob cost the same after missed cases and continued charges. At the rate they do things, there is no way you get a case each month. But you better believe you're paying each month. I had really hoped this would work. It's such a great idea in theory. ### 1/5 — Bad process, rip off *2023-10-05* I signed up for Armoire and filled out the profile they sent me. I quickly got my first box without having a chance to review the items. I didn’t want any of the items, they were either out of style (low rise jeans) or wrong season (white crocheted summer dress in late September). I returned all the items the same day I received them but was still charged the $79 for the month with no option to trade for other items. The process doesn’t allow flexibility and if you get a box you don’t want you still get charged. I felt like it was a rip off. ### 1/5 — The worst *2023-06-20, version 1.18.0* Do not use. They will continue to bill you. I was just told by customer service, “they have a strict no refund policy.” They put my account on hold. But then billed me the next month and said they had only put it on a temporary pause. I’ve also had multiple items from them that needed to be dry cleaned prior to wearing them. Gross. Extremely limited options, and what is there are high trend items aka mostly fast fashion. Poor quality as well. What a disappointment. ### 1/5 — Worst clothing rental ever *2022-05-25, version 1.8.1* If I could, I would give zero stars. Beware of this business. They have very fraudulent practices. Incorrect credit card charges, technical errors are very frequent when you use armoire. ### 2/5 — Glitchy App! *2025-10-29, version 1.31.0* I love armoire clothing but the app is so glitchy, constantly freezing, that I can’t fully participate. Sadly, I’m going to have to quit due to this app! ### 2/5 — Buggy, freezing *2024-08-31, version 1.25.0* Normally great but the latest update makes the app unusable. I love that it has an algorithm that learns what you generally like and suggests similar. I would love if it allowed you to bookmark or favorite designers/ brands and also show you items that stretch your comfort level a bit so you try new things. Similar to some of the subscription boxes “make it wild” setting when browsing. I absolutely love Armoire and as long as I can fit it in my budget, and not waste money on fast fashion, I will continue to use it. It’s such a great eco-friendly option and I get to wear high-quality clothing. ### 5/5 — Great item *2025-12-15, version 1.34.0* This is a very nice and comfortable piece. Unlike other services I used, with Armoire I get to keep the current rentals until the new ones arrive- so I'm never without clothes. The service is essential, I can’t imagine life without clothing rental and armoire has a great curation of known and upcoming brands and a number of different subscription options. Usually I dread wearing the same things every week and feeling stuck in a style rut. I first signed up for Armoire while I was pregnant, I wanted to rent maternity work clothes since they are only worn for a short time. Well…. I fell in love with the service, the style, and the ease of use, so I decided to keep my membership after baby. I have a few complaints occasionally about the app glitching, or availability of the popular items.. but overall I’m satisfied. ### 5/5 — Game changer *2024-02-08* A friend of mine recommended Armoire and my life has been seriously enhanced ever since. With the unlimited plan, you can continuously rotate your wardrobe. I originally signed up for formal work outfits (great for news casters, reporters, PR industry professionals, legal professionals and anyone who wants or needs to professionally dress to impress. I soon realized there are so many more ways to maximize the membership. Renting capsules at a time widens doors for vacations, formal events, size fluctuations, maternity and more. Client support is always speedy and fantastic. The company cares and is striving hard for loyalty and market share. Love their vision and business model. Pro tips: - Going on a business trip to a cold location? Rent a fantastic coat and wardrobe for your seminar, pack it up to mail back from your hotel and save yourself the luggage ordeal when you return. - If you schedule a consultation with a stylist, a bonus item is all yours to rent. - The referral bonuses are generous.
