### 2/5 — Buggy

*2026-01-23*

doesn't feel complete or polished. not worth the 17.99 currently. Id like a refund

### 2/5 — Great that this is still being updated

*2025-09-13*

I want this to be a good app. I was worried that it was abandoned, so seeing an update was great. It however still not usable. I don’t understand why the navigation is so messed up. Just try any other 3d app to see how it should work.

*2024-05-11, version 1.0.23.8.30*

*2024-05-09, version 1.0.23.8.30*

### 3/5 — Problemas de exportación

*2023-08-04, version 0.9.23.7.1*

### 3/5 — Great potential! Just needs better navigation

*2023-03-06*

This is a really in-depth tool. But the controls for navigation needs improvement. I bought the app though to support the development of it. I know it can be great with some improvement

### 1/5 — crash to destop

*2023-03-06*

unusable

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2023-01-31*

Crashes even on the newest iPad can’t reopen a project just keeps dying on me :(

### 3/5 — Crash problem

*2023-01-15, version 0.9.22.12*

This app is so cool, but when i add a procedural material and save the project the app crashs or crash when i add a another material, pls fix this problem

### 1/5 — Still trash

*2023-01-04*

Tested the new version on iPad Pro 2020 and this still crashes ever time. Considering we pay for this I would expect the same quality as an app like nomad sculpt but sadly Armor paint is no good.

Shame people are being ripped off.

### 2/5 — Practically unusable

*2022-12-27*

The touch controls are awful, they need to be more like Nomad Sculpt, Forger or Procreates.
The app is incredibly buggy and crashes constantly.
The UI and workflow is confusing when it does work.
Now that we can do retopo and UV’s in cozy blanket having a true PBR texturing workflow would be amazing but as it stands this ain’t it.
I’d stick with procreate and nomad for texturing. Nomad can export vertex painting, normals and more.

### 2/5 — Update

*2022-11-28, version 0.9*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Won’t even open on iPad 17

*2026-05-04*

I love the pc version but the thing won’t even run on my iPad. If that gets fixed I’ll give it 5 stars

### 1/5 — Pencil brush settings not working.

*2026-02-10*

Pencil support MUST be up to date at all times for iOS/android no pencil support means projects can’t be done. Will change review after fix I go more in-depth on discord.

### 1/5 — No abre

*2025-10-04*

### 1/5 — Promising but unusable in its current sate

*2025-09-17, version 250913*

This app would fill a much needed niche if it worked! There is a real lack of iOS/iPad OS apps for material making and texturing 3D models and the feature set this app promises would be amazing. The developer does state that the app is in alpha and is currently ’Experimental’, however in its current state of development $30 AUD is a real hard ask… Running this on my 12.9” iPad Pro 2020 did not yield any success. The app crashes anytime I try to import a mesh, and I tried every supported file type with file sizes ranging between 100kb to 3mb. The viewport constantly flickers and the UI and gesture control is not well configured for iPad - the camera/viewport rotation is crazy sensitive. I have requested a refund, though I’m more than happy to purchase again and update my review once the app has been developed further and a lot of these issues have been ironed out.

*2025-09-12, version 250909*

### 1/5 — Don’t buy this app!

*2025-02-05, version 1.0.23.8.30*

It would be great in theory to have a full fledged texturing desktop application on iPad. However the current version is UNUSABLE. Trust me i have tried to make it work. There are simply to many issues, bugs, crashes and missing features to do anything productive with it. It also looks likes this isn’t going to change soon, since this isn’t an iPad exclusive issue with armorpaint.

### 1/5 — Crashes as soon as I imported my first mesh

*2024-11-20, version 1.0.23.8.30*

I just bought this app for 20€ and I cant even import one model, I’m sure this app has great potential, but u cant use any of it…

### 1/5 — Not at all ready for release

*2024-06-01*

Not quite ready for release. The developer mentions that this is in Alpha, and they mean it. They probably should not be charging for this release until it has been further developed, but here we are. Buyer beware

### 1/5 — soo much crashing app

*2023-08-05*

stop buying thes app do soo muchhh crashhh , my device: ipad pro 2020
stop buying thes app :(

### 1/5 — New update. Still unusable.

*2023-06-23*

This could be a great app if they fixed the interface and the touch function. The new update is much better with the touch gestures but it’s still not a good experience. The app crashes all the time. Even when just deleting a model. It’s like it was designed by someone that has never tried and iPad or used any iPad apps.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — ignore dated reviews! ArmorPaint is THE ONE! 🙏

*2026-01-15*

after exhaustively looking throughout the App Store for any software that comes close to what ArmorPaint does—the only considerable second, yet inadequate by comparison, remains Procreate—lacking support for PBR Textures. (i'm grateful enough for its 3D Model support in the first place tbh.)

i've been using this INCREDIBLE app for only a month or so now... and the rate of development the project is moving at has been truly heroic, as well as promising. investing into it now—mind you, while it's still going for a humble price—there's no doubt it will very well become thee standard for all-inclusive workspaces supporting 3D painting, PBR texturing, UV un/masking, etc.

the ONLY bug my *entry-level* [2021, 9th gen] iPad had trouble handling was semi-frequent crashing while executing multiple jobs; however, this was on a 64 GB model. after upgrading my physical storage, i haven't experienced any crashes thus far. to be clear: it's not even a Pro model.

concisely put: if you're looking to have a proper 3DCG workflow on your iPad, you will need a dedicated PBR applicator. ArmorPaint remains the only app capable of fulfilling this task, now in Alpha. support this indie dev, remain patient & pragmatic while in Alpha, then to enjoy having access to streamlined workflow all on a single device.

### 5/5 — Support this Developer!

*2023-02-09*

Armor Paint may be rough around the edges currently, but I bought it to support the awesome work the devs are doing. I’m amazed at the quality apps that exist like Nomad and Cozy Blanket and I’m cheering for Armor Paint to fill the missing piece of texturing on the iPad! Excited to see this app grow. I agree with the other review that the devs should take too heart how Nomad and Cozy Blanket have innovated and brilliantly used the iPad touch screen, gestures, and Apple Pencil to make creating and editing intuitive and fun. A clutter free user interface is a must too.

### 4/5 — Great that this is still being updated

*2025-12-07*

Great improvements on how navigating and move objects. There’s still issues where the app can’t reposition objects that are not placed in the center of the world, like Nomad. Also unnecessary complicated to start painting.

### 4/5 — Needs to work more like an iOS/android app.

*2024-03-08*

I feel like the app is a lot like the windows version which isn’t bad but makes it hard to use while using an touchscreen because it’s made for a key board.

I feel like adding sliders would be a good idea and making little side buttons for the widows so you can scale/move the window try to orient the app with touchscreen.

Add features to your app for other apps like nomad sculpt when I add a model from nomad sculpt the model is upside down and I don’t know how to fix it?

I’m giving you guys a 4 because the app had problems with my pen and you guys solved it pretty fast thanks.

### 4/5 — Path tracing support is awesome!

*2023-07-15*

Really appreciate the new path tracing support

### 4/5 — I hope it can support third-party touch-screen pen

*2023-02-12*

I hope it can support third-party touch-screen pen

### 4/5 — Sulla buona strada…

*2022-03-02, version 0.9*

### 4/5 — Good app, bad navigation.

*2021-11-03, version 0.8*

Pls add navigation like in Nomad sculpt for example. Would be great.

### 3/5 — En iOS, donde está el menú ?

*2025-10-14, version 250913*

### 3/5 — A bit better

*2025-09-14, version 250909*

I’m supporting the developer since the app was less than an alpha, with the last update is much better also in a M1 iPad Pro. Please keep going.
