### 2/5 — Le minimum et pas plus...

*2016-12-24, version 1.1.3*

### 2/5 — Needs another update ASAP

*2015-06-20, version 1.1.0*

The one time this app worked without crashing
on iPad Air 2 it was fantastic! Wonderful arp, great randomization tools. Etc
BUT after that, even after reinstalling IT CRASHES EVERY TIME I try and assign midi in
and out. PLease update, as I love your apps
and would give this one five stars if it just worked

### 2/5 — Gestion du midi non efficace

*2015-05-30, version 1.0.0*

### 1/5 — Avoid

*2024-09-29, version 1.1.3*

Absolute piece of garbage… save your money for a better developer app. This app is not supported to work fully in AUM or AUDIOBUS. No option to add as a midi processor. Or as an Audio Unit. Harry Gogh ought to change the outdated UI as well.

### 1/5 — Nope

*2024-03-24, version 1.1.3*

Arpeggiators are supposed to sync to a BPM, and this one will not do so. I set the same tempo in Korg Gadget and Cubasis 3 just to be double sure, and both times the Arp shifted off grid.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2020-03-11, version 1.1.3*

Absolute garbage, sounds like an annoying kids toy.
Not even worth one star

### 1/5 — Complètement dépassé, aucun suivi!

*2019-10-27, version 1.1.3*

Complètement dépassé, et aucun suivi.
Pour ceux qui cherche une application de ce type il y a "StepPolyArp Unit" qui est au TOP!

### 1/5 — Frozen...

*2017-01-17, version 1.1.3*

It is now frozen and therefore useless. May I please have a refund?

### 1/5 — Hugely disappointed

*2016-03-23, version 1.1.1*

The one reason I purchased this app - the chord transform function - does not even work! It merely creates unstoppable stuck notes with the internal synth & only sends the base note to external MIDI. I'll be fuming if Apple don't grant a refund.

### 1/5 — does not work as IAA device

*2015-09-17*

When trying it in Cubasis as an Inter App Audio device it just hangs. I tried running it before opening cubasis, tried rebooting etc etc, all the tricks. It simply does not work.

### 1/5 — If working properly..

*2015-06-16, version 1.1.0*

After update one: Crash bug when selecting midi out still exists; don't buy when StepPolyArp is out there. It does everything better except the randomizers, for which I will give VirSyn the edge. This doesn't take away from the quality of their other apps (for which I can only vouch for the great TeraSynth), but skip this.
------
Impulse bought to have a Midi out synth like the one in their fantastic Terasynth.

However selecting any midi output from within the app crashes it. Including their own TeraSynth.

Don't buy until updated.

### 2/5 — Good but no AUV3

*2025-04-03, version 1.1.3*

Amazing app but cannot be used inside other DAW… what the point on having a great app that cannot be integrated? I love Virsyn products since years, but this is not of the usual quality/ versatility

### 2/5 — Very old app, hope it gets updated

*2018-08-06, version 1.1.3*

Was good once, now it is no longer used and updated. au3 and ableton link support, please

SUR IPAD 3 IOS 9.3 .MERCI 2 em tentative sa fonctionne Bravo est que çà dure quelle classe quand le midi fonctionne merci beaucoup . SUPER LE MIDI FONCTION

### 5/5 — Neat

*2016-01-13, version 1.1.1*

I haven’t delved into this as deep as it can go, so I’m probably not doing myself any favors by writing this now. The thing is, it’s so rare when an app is exactly what you’d hoped it was that I really feel compelled to write a little note of thanks.

If you are like me, you had a keyboard - maybe several keyboards - at one time or another that had a rudimentary arpeggiator. They were quite popular and a fun way to come up with new, quirky synth or bass lines - or to create wonderful, sparkly “filler” noise for your tracks. But that keyboard broke. Or you sold it.

Here you are, several years later, and you want an arpeggiator. You’ve gotten many many keyboards before and since, and none of them (gasp) have arpeggiators! What to do? Oh, I know! There has to be an app for that!

And there are. Several thousand, it seemed to me. All of which might have been arpeggiators (because they have that in their descriptions) - but then again, they might not. Because all of them look like full-on DAWs at worst or some kind of space age bravo sierra that offers me a thousand ways to control my sounds THAT I DON’T WANT.

Then there’s this. Apreggist. Is it an arpeggiator? Well the name certainly has it right. I’m glad they didn’t name it BUTTERSCOTCH or some other stupid thing. Thing is, it’s eight bucks. But then again, so’s everything in this category. So I bit.

I’m happy to say that Arpeggist is, indeed, just what I needed - a rudimentary arpeggiator. And it is much more than that, but the “much more” part doesn’t get in the WAY of the arpeggiator. I was able to jump right in and use it like I remembered using my old keyboard based arpeggiators, but I found myself constantly going “oooh, what’s this do?” and being delighted with the results.

So, thanks VirSyn! :D

### 4/5 — Great for quick inspiration

*2015-09-05, version 1.1.1*

The randomization features make it easy to come up with new melodies, basslines, and chords. The latest version can sync to external MIDI clock as well as start/stop commands. However, it does't transmit clock or start/stop, which is disappointing. Add MIDI file export and the ability to transmit clock and this will be a 5 star app.

### 3/5 — Complete manual not available

*2021-04-30, version 1.1.3*

Under HELP, when I hit ‘Tap for complete manual’ the Help screen pops up with nothing in it - blank, zilch. Where is the complete manual?

### 3/5 — Fantastic, BUT...

*2020-06-23, version 1.1.3*

One of the coolest things about the various Virsyn synthesizers is the arpeggiator. And this app has everything that makes the Virsyn arpeggiators as interesting as they are, especially the randomization. I could play around with this thing for hours.

BUT... the worst thing about this app is that it’s really unfriendly as far as “playing with others”. Virsyn support, please, PLEASE, make this app an AUv3. Having the Arpeggist available to use in AUM would be a major improvement. Please consider. I would even be willing to pay for an IAP to add AUv3 capabilities.

### 3/5 — Improved

*2017-01-11, version 1.1.3*

Now works with Midi, and therefore fit for purpose. But still the ugly child of the VirSyn brood, and in need of (developer) love.

Nic

### 3/5 — Needs to be much more stable

*2015-06-17, version 1.1.0*

Crashes a lot when altering MIDI settings. Apart from that very intuitive with great randomisers, and the developer virsyn are great so expect the bugs to be fixed soon.

### 3/5 — No key hold function

*2015-06-11, version 1.0.0*

Only just tried the app, so no real conclusions yet.
One glaring omission seems to be that there is no key hold function. I hope this is rectified soon, as I'm getting tired juggling synths to find a good sound.

### 3/5 — Poor External ClockSync, Transport Stop/Start, MIDI controls

*2015-05-29, version 1.0.0*

👯 it's just like the arpeggiator section for all of other Virsyn synths. Right now, it literally feels like one of their other synths that's been gutted with only the arp section remaining. It's a decent arpeggiator, but needs improvement with control and interoperability with other MIDI gear. ⚠️

🎹🕤🚫🕜🎹 Unfortunately🙇🏻, as far as I can tell, there's no apparent control for external ClockSyncing and no reliable way to trigger transport Stop/Play from other apps—so one must wonder, 'what's the point?'

Musicians who like Virsyn instruments will probably not be not be disappointed 🔜 when the devs do eventually release an update the problems I've mentioned, but for now this🌱 1.0 release has limited functionality.🚼

If you have StepPolyArp by Laurent Colson, you probably do not need this unless you prefer the arpeggiator control interface of VirSyn's synths.
