### 1/5 — Piece of garbage

*2025-06-10, version 5.3.41*

This app is taking space here to annoy people, lease remove it apple, in fact, remove anything that is related to Arris company

### 1/5 — Junk

*2025-06-01, version 5.3.41*

Useless

### 1/5 — Go with Netgear

*2025-06-01, version 5.3.41*

This app is horrible. Can’t log in. Can’t set up. It can’t find the router. The router I bought isn’t even listed. I’m going back to Netgear.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2025-05-28, version 5.3.41*

Zero stars would be too many for this waste of time and energy app. Impossible to use and get internet from. DONT BUY AN ARRIS

### 1/5 — It doesn't allow me to scan the QR code.

*2025-05-26, version 5.3.41*

It doesn't allow me to scan the QR code, the camera closes immediately.

### 1/5 — The worst!!

*2025-05-17, version 5.3.41*

If I could give this app zero stars I would. That is app and arris are useless. Do not buy any of the networking devices. Trash beyond trash

### 1/5 — The worst modem router ever

*2025-04-29, version 5.3.41*

I paid over $450 dollars for this piece of junk mean just read the reviews on their own app and website. Why would you keep selling this product if it doesn’t work correctly. I want a refund and I’ll never buy one of these brands again.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-04-21, version 5.3.41*

This app keeps saying that I have lost connection and will not log in

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2025-03-31, version 5.3.41*

Tried logging in and it struggled. I’ve been waiting for like an hour for my app to “set up” and it’s taking forever ever.

### 1/5 — Not even usable

*2025-02-24, version 5.3.41*

The very first step asked you to scan a QR code, but the camera only comes up for a fraction of a second before it tells you that you didn’t provide a proper QR code and sends you back to the first step. It’s literally not even one single second! I had my camera pointed directly on the QR code, but it wouldn’t even attempt to scan it. This program is complete and utter garbage. It doesn’t work at all. I’ve been trying to set up this router for two days and can’t even connect to the Internet. Arris is the worst possible company and you should never ever buy any product from them. It’s unbelievable that this is supposed to be a high-end product when it in fact is the worst Wi-Fi system I have ever encountered in my 35 years on this planet.

### 1/5 — Use surfboard central app instead

*2025-02-11, version 5.3.41*

This app is outdated and does not work anymore. Has been replaced by surfboard central. Hope this helps

### 1/5 — Horrific

*2025-02-10, version 5.3.41*

This app is a new low. I'm returning the modem in trying to setup too...I want nothing to do with a 'tech' company this bad with their app and modem setup.

### 1/5 — Useless!

*2025-01-19, version 5.3.41*

Absolutely useless. Returning Arris G34 WiFi router/modem on my next day off. I'll read the reviews next time.

### 1/5 — It’s as bad as people say it is

*2025-01-16, version 5.3.41*

Useless, QR codes not readable on the modem. Just a complete waste of time.

### 1/5 — World’s Worst App

*2025-01-16, version 5.3.41*

This app is so utterly nonfunctional that it cannot even recognize QR codes on the routers sold by the company that made the bloody app. I could not use the app for any purpose other than as an object of my frustration. The only joy this app gave me was when I could satisfyingly delete it from my phone…banishing it to the dark oblivion of misfit applications. Good day, sir.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-12-27, version 5.3.41*

Maybe it’s only for modem/routers but it doesn’t work at all for a plain cable modem.

### 1/5 — Worst App-Does Not Work

*2024-12-22, version 5.3.41*

First, the QR code had “no useable information”. Try inputting information manually, kept getting “Network connectivity to Wireless Gateway has been lost.” Never mind I have internet access. Can’t seem to change my admin or password. Ridiculous.

### 1/5 — It does not work

*2024-12-06, version 5.3.41*

I’m sure it works for One and 1 in 10 people, but for the rest of us, this app is completely useless. It will take you to a website that is completely Janky and does not work. The router itself seems OK quality. But other than that, it was a complete waste of money and does not work.

### 1/5 — Completely useless

*2024-11-29, version 5.3.41*

Shows connection to the modem, bit try login and “suddenly has lost connection.” What a waste of time.

### 1/5 — APP IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!

*2024-11-13, version 5.3.41*

Garbage don’t recommend

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Only works on new routers

*2026-07-14, version 5.3.41*

Useless

### 1/5 — Data collection

*2026-07-05, version 5.3.41*

The app won’t even let you use it unless you allow location tracking. Avoid this predatory app.

### 1/5 — Awful do not buy

*2026-02-08, version 5.3.41*

Regret

### 1/5 — Waste

*2026-02-07, version 5.3.41*

Unable to login the app and acct online. It’s been like this since I bought the thing a year ago. Don’t waste your time or money.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2025-12-08, version 5.3.41*

Better to just contact your internet service provider directly instead of using this app. It directs you to use a QR code but can’t even recognize one. After entering info manually the app just interfaces with your ISP anyway but now you’ve had to provide email to yet another company who’s likely going to sell it to advertisers.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-10-03, version 5.3.41*

I spent so long trying to login and create a more secure password. This app never let me login…had to go to the weird webpage. Terrible app

### 1/5 — Never worked

*2025-09-16, version 5.3.41*

Horrible app

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2025-07-24, version 5.3.41*

Makes setup so much harder than it needs to be, save your effort and choose a different brand if possible

### 1/5 — Garbage!

*2025-07-20, version 5.3.41*

This app won’t even let me log in, after having to manually setup because the QR code finder just blinks and says improper QR code without even giving you a chance to even scan it! Worthless!

### 1/5 — Worst app I’ve ever used

*2025-06-11, version 5.3.41*

Wont scan your QR code, then boots you back to the start menu each time you try. Absolutely terrible.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works how it should

*2021-10-13, version 5.3.33*

The app works how it is meant to every negative review is complaining about things that don’t matter or apply.

### 5/5 — Idk why all the hate

*2020-07-15, version 5.3.30*

I had the most smoothest time with the app. You have to call your cable people first. Once it’s set up, following the paper that comes with it. I had zero issues with this, idk what’s happening with everyone else.

### 5/5 — Works perfectly

*2019-11-10, version 5.2.100*

Hello,

I was worried about using the app because of negative reviews. Hopefully this review counters the negative reviews. Please read full review.

I bought this brand router docsis 3.1 modem router combo yesterday and used this app yesterday (Nov 9, 2019). Everything worked perfectly.

Location: Sunnyvale, California

Here is how I did it:
Using xfinity/Comcast internet
First connect one end of coax cable to modem and other end to coax cable socket on wall or splitter if you have xfinity cable
Plugin power cord into modem
Plugin power cord in wall socket
Wait for like 15-30mins until internet light stays solid green(This will happen only if your service is active) and WiFi light stays slow blinking green at the same time.
Once the modem becomes stable like in last step, download and start the app on your mobile (hopefully you have an alternate internet access to download the app).
Register in the app, and follow the steps. Once you login to the app all information should be available.
Some tasks in the app take a lot of time like (30secs-1min 30secs for me), so be patient.

### 4/5 — Confusing but works!

*2020-07-30, version 5.3.30*

This is my second review updating my earlier one. Still confused, for some reason the app is now working and acknowledges my info already entered earlier. Long story short, it’s working and I can further evaluate as I need to use it. Thanks. SS in Seattle

### 3/5 — Change password but not username?

*2024-04-03, version 5.3.41*

Overall, the setup was pretty simple. The only problem is that I can’t figure out how to change the password for the login. I got the password changed easily and then changed the SSID and password for the router, but nowhere do I see a spot to change the username from the default. Help?

### 3/5 — It’s really not that bad!

*2021-05-29, version 5.3.33*

Looking at the reviews for this app, I was sort of thinking my phone was going to explode or something if I installed it! The app is NOT that bad!!

Admittedly I have noticed it is a bit choppy. I noticed I might have to refresh the app to get accurate readings if I am looking for data.

Changing settings within the app is no problem.

Could this be better, yes! Does it deserve better than 400+ 1 star reviews? I think so.

UPDATE: I did come back and remove a star. The WiFi Spot Meter now crashes each time I try to use it lol.

### 3/5 — Please Update for iOS 14

*2020-11-28, version 5.3.30*

I had a very hard time connecting the app to my 7600AC2 modem/router. It took several attempts to connect to the modem/router and several more to login. Also I’m struggling to log in to advancement settings via my MacBook because it says I’m logged in elsewhere when I’m already logged out.

### 3/5 — Works for me

*2020-11-24, version 5.3.30*

I’m reading a lot of snarfing on here, mostly from frustrated folks who don’t understand what this app is for.

This app provides a basic interface from which you can access your home network and manage some of the more popular/frequently managed settings on the fly without having to localhost your way in and screw around with the clunky control panel that essentially exists for virtually every hardware product of this type.

For me, I like having quick access to disconnect my kid’s Xbox from the network when it’s 11:53pm and for the third f.ing time I told him to turn the volume of carnage down to a low roar. He didn’t feel like listening the first three times? Watch this.

Why three stars? Because the interface could use a little overhaul and update to get it better in line with the current iOS.

### 2/5 — Frustrated

*2020-09-05, version 5.3.30*

I asked my device to save my password and for some reason this is the only app it hasn’t. I can’t get into the app I’ve spent 20 minutes trying to figure out my user name and password. It doesn’t have an option to retrieve it and now I can’t access it. I went to the website and no help there either

### 2/5 — App issues

*2020-03-17, version 5.3.30*

The app tells me that I don’t have internet; Wi-Fi service is constantly interrupted saying no internet on one of the dual settings yet the other one works fine. I can not reset the modem from the app; which is problematic given the modem is centralized behind a panel in the wall. The SBG8300 modem has a solid green light even when my service is ‘interrupted’ on one of the dual channels. I’m about done with this. I’m ready to send back the modem and delete this app.
