## What is ArrowNotes?

ArrowNotes was built from real-world practice – out of the need for an app that lets you record arrows quickly, without distractions, and without rigid constraints. Whether in training or competition, a few seconds after each end should be enough to capture your results and refocus on shooting. That is exactly what ArrowNotes is designed for. The app deliberately avoids unnecessary complexity while providing a solid foundation for evaluation, analysis, and structure. Many features are already available, with more being added step by step – all with the goal of turning ArrowNotes into a powerful yet clear and focused companion app for archers over the long term.

The free version of ArrowNotes is fully functional and includes all essential features for recording and analyzing training sessions and competitions – no subscription, no recurring costs.

Rounds & Ends

### 1.3.1 — 2026-08-07

- New feature: For each round, you can take, view, and share a photo of the target. You can immediately see in the round list where a photo is located.
- New feature: Rings can be recorded directly on the target photo. To do this, tap the ring value in the palette and drag the marker to the arrow’s position.
- New feature: Perspective correction for photos. A calibration template (with automatic suggestions) converts photo markers into actual target positions, which are incorporated into the hit pattern analysis.
- New feature: Duel mode for competitions using the Olympic set system (2/1/0 set points) and cumulative compound scoring, available for individual, team, and mixed team events. Includes set scores, set lists, winners, and shoot-offs.
- New feature: Personal profile with first name, last name, club, and profile picture.
- New feature: If a round contains multiple sets, the hit pattern analysis can be scrolled through set by set.
- New feature: New round templates for field and indoor triple: “WA Field 24 Targets,” “WA Field Training,” “WA Indoor 18 m Triple,” and “WA Indoor 25 m Triple.”
- New feature: Training data for automatic arrow detection can be exported and voluntarily donated anonymously. Opt-in, without personal identification, and revocable at any time.

- Improvement: When creating a round and in the sight settings, the most recently used arrow is preselected.
- Improvement: When recording a set, the distance is now displayed in small text at the top of the screen.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-07-16

- New feature: If a round consists of multiple matches with different targets, this is now displayed in the round list as well as in the round details.
- New feature: Saved sights, bow limbs, and arrows can now also be edited.

- Improvement: The colors in the pie chart are now more distinct and easier to differentiate.
- Bug fix: Fixed an issue where the app would freeze when placing and moving arrow markers.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-04-19

- New feature: A round now consists of one or more matches, each with its own target face, target size, distance, number of ends, and arrows per end
- New feature: Round templates can now be managed more easily and can also be hidden
- New feature: The Apple Watch app now also supports the new templates based on matches
- New feature: Within a round, arrows without a target can now be manually recorded using `-1` / `+1` without having to create passes or ring values.
- Round details expanded: The header now also displays the total number of arrows in the round, i.e., the sum of arrows recorded by the ring and those manually counted during the round.
- Bug fix: If the date of an existing round is changed, the timestamps of already recorded passes and arrows are now updated as well, so that statistics and time series remain on the correct date.
- Bug fix: Sight settings are now correctly saved separately for different distances of a bow-sight-arrow combination, instead of overwriting existing entries.

- Existing rounds can now be edited directly from the round list using a swipe action.
- Protection logic for rounds with recorded arrows: target face, diameter, template, location (indoor/outdoor), and bow can only be changed as long as no ends with recorded arrows exist for the round.
- Scoring and display during arrow entry corrected: indoors, X is no longer shown or counted; it is now treated as 10.
- Special rule added for compound indoor on 40 cm and 60 cm targets: for FITA 10-, 5-spot, 6-spot, and 3-spot faces, only the innermost ring counts as 10; the previous outer 10 ring is now scored as 9.
- Round detail enhanced: the header now shows, in addition to the number of ends, the totals for X and 10 (outdoor) or 10 and 9 (indoor).
