The bar you are hearing lights up as the song plays, tap any bar to start from there, and switch between the recording and a synthesised guitar to hear the part on its own. Tabs now say which capo the recording was played with, and songs without a tab get a capo suggested whenever it turns barre chords into open shapes. It becomes the song's default; change it any time under Key. • Tabs that follow your capo and key. Change the capo or transpose, and the strings and frets are laid out again to match, not just the chord names. • "Fewer finger moves." A new option under Key, on by default, that picks strings so a finger that's already down can stay down instead of hopping along one string. • Play the tab. When the tab's own sound is playing, or the video can't be shown, you get a full playback bar with seeking, just like for the video. • A clearer reader. One "View" chip names the current mode and explains what Reading, Karaoke, Bars and Tab show, and why a mode isn't available for a song. Text size lives there too. A short first-time tour points out the essentials. • Tab and strum at a glance. Compact "Tab", "Strum" and "Capo" chips under the title, with the strum panel opening right below them. • Separation preview. The mixer is now "Separation" and, for YouTube songs, shows the tracks a local recording would be split into. • The metronome click is available on every song, including plain chord sheets. • Tab generation is about three times faster. • Many small fixes: the video no longer restarts when switching between the recording and the tab sound, the play controls sit tidier, and your choices are remembered per song. ### 1.0.53 — 2026-09-02 Fixes: • The metronome no longer goes silent on YouTube songs after you play a tab. • Switching between the recording and the tab keeps the video playing instead of reloading it. • Starting the strum pattern no longer reloads the video and loses your place. • A file with no music in it — a lecture or a stream — is now refused up front, and doesn't count against your limit. ### 1.0.52 — 2026-09-01 GUITAR AND KEYS, ON THEIR OWN TRACKS The mixer now separates six parts instead of four: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, keys and everything else. Solo the guitar to hear exactly what the player is doing, or take it out and play it yourself. Songs separated before this update get the two new tracks as they are refreshed — until then their rows sit greyed out. TABS WRITTEN FROM THE GUITAR ITSELF Because the guitar now has a track of its own, that is what a tab is transcribed from, instead of everything the named parts left behind. Songs that could not produce a playable tab before can now. Every mixer row also has its own instrument, so you can see what a slider silences before you move it.
