The game has been hard to enjoy for a while now since the frame rate consistently drops every if not, most games. It happens throughout the whole race, beginning, middle, end. More commonly middle. Although I logged on one time and ALL of my data was erased. Days and days worth of data gone.. I hope that can be fixed. Edit: Still great game but the each race there will be a couple times where the frames drop/freezes. Makes it kind of unplayable. ### 4/5 — Awkward braking *2026-04-13, version 1.0.36* For context, I use controller, not touch. This might not apply to touch controls. The game is fun overall. The stages feel nice and performance is good as well. The one thing that keeps this from being a 5 star rating is the awkward way the game handles braking. I can be going 60+ and if i get on the brakes at all, it IMMEDIATELY drops like 15-20 mph and continues to drop hard after that. It feels so jarring to the point that I try to not even touch the brakes. Every time I do, it feels like a massive force pulled me backwards and it’s either full stop or nothing. Das war schon mal der erste Back auf meinem iPad Pro 12,9 Zoll 2022. Dann hab ich die PlayStation fünf Controllerbelegung geändert aber wenn ich eine neue Taste belegt habe und die dann angeklickt habe, wurde die falsche angezeigt. Es war zwar die richtige hinterlegt aber ich hab zuerst R2 hinterlegt und dann stand da was anderes. Außerdem sollte die Rechenpower auf dem iPad pro ausreichen damit es nicht ruckelt. It make the game all that much better than it already is with the addition of crowds. I also couldn’t imagine playing this game with touch controls. Game pad is a definite requirement to making this game fun. I also recommend playing on an iPad rather than an iPhone. With a controller and a larger screen makes this an excellent mobile game. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — A stripped down and disappointing port *2026-08-14, version 1.0.36* I've spent dozens of hours in PC version of AOR before trying out this ios port. It turned out to be a completely different game in a bad way. Gameplay is unlike real AOR. Cars accelerate way faster and have higher top speed than real AOR, messing up OG game's finely tuned gameplay. Camera is pointed lower to the ground than real AOR. Even on the camera setting closest to the car, the camera allows you to very little of the road ahead, made even worse when played on a ultra wide display like any of the newer iPhones. Real AOR's dramatic lighting and god-ray effects are all gone. Alone with all the crowds of spectators too and crowd sound effects. A barren and bland port that took away the charms of the real AOR. Save your 3 dollars. ### 1/5 — Best mobile game ever but… *2026-07-14, version 1.0.36* Honestly this has been one of the best mobile games I’ve ever played. The graphics are both gorgeous and a really fun nod to all games. Game play is also fantastic delivering a mix between an arcade game with realistic physics. The problem I have now is it will no longer work on my phone. I’ve done everything I can but it seems it won’t let you play on older phones. You definitely need a controller for this or at least a virtual stick on screen or tilt controls. The single left and right buttons to steer are somehow both incredibly clunky but floaty at the same time. Worst touch control scheme of any mobile racer I’ve ever played. A total waste of money. Makes no difference. ### 1/5 — Horrendous Physics Engine *2025-03-24* Two issues: the driving experience and the damages. The car feels like a soap when driving on gravel. That is totally fine and usually acceptable in most rally simulations. However, here it feels like the car is floating above the ground, even on tarmac. A rally car does not feel like that. If a/the dev is reading this, go play the community-modded version of RichardBurnsRally with a steering wheel on PC. You’ll get a feeling of how a real rally car feels on gravel: it does not float above the road, it should feel like it is part of the road. Sliding is usual, but not being able to use weight transfer for cornering (as your game’s physics does not allow) is not normal. Second, the steering is horrendous: why only a left/right button ?? A small tactile steering wheel in the down left corner gives SO much more control. Third, the cornering is not great due to the steering: it feels like the car takes time to respond to my inputs. The result is you cannot corner at relatively high speeds while drifting or sliding on gravel. Fourth, the damage is non existent. The car feels like a rock: it never breaks down. And finally: why aren’t the turns called out by the copilot ?? Without the spectators the game overall feels lonely and I think it would only cause performance issues and not pose any technical problems with this being the mobile version of a PC game.
