## What is Art Set?

This stunningly beautiful app is like having a virtual art set right inside your iPad. Paint and draw via the photo realistic interface with tools that look and feel like the real thing. 

Art Set gives an alternative to complex and mechanical like paint apps for all to enjoy - artist or not! But simplicity comes without sacrificing quality, from pens to pencils, paints to pastels, each has been carefully crafted to produce natural results in real time. 

The 3D textured oil paint gives amazing thick gloopy strokes or thin delicate detail via virtual pressure sensitivity. 

Sparkle and glow with special metallic and fluorescent colours. Build up subtle tones and textures with oil pastels, wax crayons, coloured pencils and marker pens. Add fine detail via multitouch pinch and zoom. Choose from different paper colours and textures, or import your own photos.

All those problems are fixed now.   I have photoshop, Procreate,
Concepts and more. I’m a painter on canvas. I’ve been playing with Art my whole life, and that’s been a long time. What I love about Art Set is the simplicity. Sometimes you get an idea, and you want to paint, draw, it up quick. THERE IS NO OTHER APP LIKE THIS. I love that there is a realistic picture of a all your art tools. The pastel works like a real pastel. They have everything you need. Oil paint, colored pencils.pastels, ink. What is so awesome about art set is it’s simple it doesn’t have hundreds of different brushes you don’t need to. I want to thank ART SET for coming up with this app, that just makes sense to a fine artist.

Just when I thought digital art couldn’t get more complicated, these guys exceeded any expectations with their upgraded app that replaced ArtSet 4…they could have left well enough alone, but nooooo, they had to turn artistic creation into a thrill ride inside some programmers’ minds.   Just return the ArtSet 4!

I got this app expecting it to at least be semi decent since you have to pay for it, but boy was I wrong. There is only a few different brushes you can use and barely any colours. There’s not even a layer button. It’s also super glitchy with my Apple Pencil and the pencil brush straight up doesn’t work with it. Idk why these reviews are all good but please, save the money. Also, if you’re looking for a good app, Procreate is a few more dollars but it’s definitely worth it. Coming from procreate to this app just feels like a joke.

This promised to be a fine introduction to art with the Apple Pencil. My kids and wife love using the Pencil and this app, and we've all spent a good amount of time doodling, smudging and scrubbing away at the screen - often with some pleasingly convincing results. But on the iPad Pro I am sad to report that it is a buggy mess.

The app routinely crashes when you simply switch to it. It will regularly leave you staring at a spinning wheel while presumably doing something very complex and important in the background.

Opening old documents randomly gives write errors where the image in question is left in some weird limbo where the only thing you can do is delete it. Worse still is the confusing "Could not open: Could not close the currently open document" modal errors which cannot be dismissed (or, rather, you *can* dismiss them, only for them to immediately reappear).

No, sorry, I'm not paying to unlock this. As much as I would like to.

Art Set is the most intuitive drawing and painting app I have used so far. I have tried quite a few drawing apps on my iPad, and this is the one I always come back to. It is simple to use and the drawing and painting tools feel like their real counterparts.
