Don’t buy it. I bought the 3day pass but never managed to open it even for one time. A total waste of 32euro. ### 1/5 — Great discount, terrible app *2023-05-14, version 1.5.4* The 3 day pass with transport offers a great discount and transport around Naples. However the app itself is terrible. It requires you to continually log in again (the login never seemed to last more than 10 minutes), which is a massive pain, especially as this is required for underground travel where mobile signal is weak. App is also slow to load over even a strong Wi-Fi connection, feels like it had been very poorly optimised for mobile. It also stopped working completely for about half a day for us (apparently due to SSL certificate expiry of the website). Note also, 3 day pass is 3 calendar days not 72 hours which wasn’t very clear especially as it talks about activating before first use. Should you get this? In spite of terrible app the discount is a good deal. Just expect a lot of frustration. ### 1/5 — Very hard to use *2023-05-06, version 1.5.4* Good concept, good offer, poor execution. You need data to use this app. The QR codes need to be refreshed after every single use. Change trains or from the Metro to a bus, new QR. The app doesn’t allow you to store your username or password as a cookie. You have type these in every time. Connection is slow, my hair grows faster than this app. Prep the QR too early, it times out. We missed at least one train waiting for the app to load. This was in Napoli Centrale, not out in the sticks You need to queue for paper tickets at the archaeology sites, and guess what, no signal at the entrance to Pompeii. Not sure if there is a good paper alternative, but you should try to find one ### 1/5 — Don’t do it unless you enjoy frustration *2023-01-11, version 1.5.4* This app doesn’t use face recognition or keychain, so you may have the fun of trying to enter your credentials on a moving train. It also loses track of your subscription regularly. Sometime after logging in a few times, the app will find it. Today, I even tried reinstalling it, and it still says I haven’t subscribed. Quite possibly the worst app I’ve ever seen. ### 1/5 — It’s a scam! *2022-11-02, version 1.5.3* I downloaded the app, bought two 365 passes. They appeared for one day, and then suddenly, disappear from existence. So no pass to use, took our money and no product. Luckily we sceenshot the pass and they accepted. Also many places don’t accept this pass and the reduced price isn’t that much. Beware! ### 1/5 — Disfunctional app *2022-10-11, version 1.5.3* When I opened the app it was a gamble whether the pass would appear. It also times out and requires you to log back in regularly, which can be a pain with weak cell service/WiFi especially on transit Ultimately ended up using the web browser version most of the trip. ### 1/5 — This app needs a lot of work *2022-09-24, version 1.5.3* The developers of this app need to engage a UX designer for the next iteration. It's difficult to navigate and misses a number of features that should be expected - such as saving QR codes to apple wallet; use of biometrics to log back in - talking of logging in; setting up an account is a painful experience and once navigated, the application seemingly forces you randomly to log back in . The arte card itself is very useful and presents great value - but if i were to buy one again, i’d look for an old fashioned paper version because the app is very frustrating to use. Final example of that would be using QR codes on the metro. Slow, often doesnt work and many turnstiles dont support QR. Don’t use it. ### 1/5 — So Awful. Really, Really Bad Ap *2026-03-12, version 1.5.11* I travel in Europe a lot. I use all kinds of apps. Some are great some need work. This is at the top of my Top 3 worst European apps. I’m sure more people would agree but seeing as every review on here is saying how bad it is for years and they have never fixed it they obviously couldn’t care less. Let me tell you…The online desktop version wasn’t much better and I wasn’t able to complete a purchase there either. For the Love of all that is good and Holy, please Napoli, ask one of those saints in one of your hundreds of churches to send you someone that actually passed basic programming 101. ### 1/5 — Awful in every aspect *2024-09-21, version 1.5.7* Paid and didn’t get a card. Wasted an afternoon as didn’t have further budget to buy more museum accesses. Everything about the app functions poorly - couldn’t update my profile - ended up doing it on the website. Issues with paying. Said there was an error. Charged my card. Sent a payment confirmation. Didn’t send a pass. Useless. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2024-08-07, version 1.5.7* Payed €16, my ticket disappeared after 10 mins ### 1/5 — Bad administration & design *2024-07-08, version 1.5.6* Bad administration and bad app design. The website says the pass is activated when it is first scanned not when you opened it. The payment system failed multiple times and support team was slow and kicking users around different teams before resolving it. ### 1/5 — I’m not sure it exists *2024-06-15, version 1.5.6* I kept on re-entering my information. I’m now wondering if it’s going straight to a Nigerian princess who will later give me the opportunity to share her million dollar inheritance. You could either buy this app or throw yourself against a wall repeatedly. Both will have the same results. ### 1/5 — Don’t do it *2024-03-26, version 1.5.4* Transport QR code didn’t work a single time at any metro station. The attendants waved me through, but it’s supremely frustrating. The app also can’t keep you logged in nor does it support keychain, so you will be logging in every single time you want to use it. ### 1/5 — Awful app and you still need to queue - be warned *2023-10-26, version 1.5.4* This is probably the worst app I have ever had to use. Before I start in the app itself I will say the concept is great, discounted tickets and skip the queues, what’s not to love? HOWEVER… for some bizarre reason the bureaucrats want you to convert the digital ticket to a paper ticket at the gate. So you still need to queue, completely negating the reason for a digital ticket. I have to say I was at a loss as to the thinking behind the system. Now the app itself has clearly been written by someone who has never actually had to use it. It logs you out every 10 mins and guess what… it doesn’t remember your login details! What fabulous fun you can have at the entrance of amazing Roman monuments scrabbling to log into an app, and often with limited service. But to improve things even more the app does not remember you have tickets, so need data each time you open it to see what tickets you have. The designers have sensibly decided to make this particular process take about 15 mins and to least 4 attempts. It is a game of persistence and keeping calm in a huge queue, in the heat, with grumpy teenagers refusing sun cream, as you get close to the counter, and you have the circle of doom rotating away. It only took us a couple of sites to work out you are best to screenshots the QR codes. But you still need to queue. And trust me on the sun cream. ### 1/5 — Needs a lot of work & will use up a lot of your time *2023-10-16, version 1.5.4* The idea is a good one but the execution is very poor. The app does not work in the way that it is advertised. After failing to get the app to load we managed to gain entry using the QR code which we captured and stored on the phone. This was the suggestion of a very helpful staff member at one of the sites. The Young Persons’ card we could not get to work at all. Email support comes across as aggressive and not overly helpful. We have finally managed to get an agreement for a refund for the unused card. All in all a lot of wasted time spent on Artecard rather than enjoying Naples. Apple should remove the app until the developer has ironed out the wrinkles. ### 1/5 — Do not do this! *2023-10-04, version 1.5.4* It is not user friendly; you can’t even see the passes until you activate them and once you do it is NOT 3 days (72 hours) from that time but it counts the first day as day one! It’s a rip off. ## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — An absolute no brainer *2024-05-08, version 1.5.4* A quick scan of the QR code and you are able to visit so many attractions for a fraction of the price. If you are under 25 you probably will not benefit much from this as the majority of places will do reduced entry fees and will only be a couple of euros. I visited Pompei, Herculaneum, Castel Nuovo, Royal Palace for just 26 euro by getting the 365 lite pass when these would have cost me anywhere from 10-25 each. Catacomb San Gaudioso and Gennero are also reduced by a few euros. You can screenshot the QR code as a backup so if your signal goes you can just show that. Would highly recommend this to anyone, the app works absolutely fine I have no idea how anyone has problems with it. ### 3/5 — Horrible app but is legitimate *2024-05-22* First of all, this app did deliver - mostly - on its promise of unlimited public transport and admission to sites like Pompeii and the fantastic National Archaeological Museum within three days. The “mostly” is because the app depends on generating QR codes, and not all metro stations have QR code readers. But the app is horrible to use. It keeps logging you out. It doesn’t work with iOS passwords or Apple Pay. Actually persuading it to take your credit card details is possible, but a challenge that can require several attempts. All in all a good idea, but badly in need of some refinement and updating ### 3/5 — Needs improvements *2023-10-24, version 1.5.4* Quite handy to travel through Campania. Perfect to travel around and save money in transport and museums. My advice is to do a screenshot of both qr codes transport and entries to museums. It takes take to get in to the tickets be patient. They should at a map with all routes you are able to use. ### 2/5 — Not a very good app *2025-09-27, version 1.5.11* You have to download this app to obtain your arrears and it says skip the queues but this is not correct because you have to join the queue where ever you use it to have the code changed into a ticket? Also the transport code does not scan when getting a train so more time is wasted trying to get through the barriers. ### 2/5 — Dodgy app *2023-09-29, version 1.5.4* The card itself is good value as long as you visit at least 2-3 museums. If not, don’t bother, since public transport is pretty cheap anyway and this adds a significant amount of hassle. The app is bad and frequently would freeze or give unknown errors, leaving you standing outside a metro station just waiting for the damn thing to work. How hard is it to make an app that just shows your travel QR code without endless loading and having to login over and over? ### 2/5 — Great deal and good idea but app has problems *2023-04-16, version 1.5.4* This pass pays for itself easily while visiting Naples but app is problematic as it keeps logging out and you have to retrieve your pass which can be awkward on a street corner or in a metro or museum where there’s not a signal. If you use it I highly recommend screen shotting the QR code just in case before going out. ### 2/5 — artecard *2022-04-17, version 1.4.1* a saving on the transport and entry fees- but if you have small children you’ll still need to queue for a ticket for them anyway. this is handy as you will then be able to shuffle through the gate in a line, as the gate readers don’t recognise the artecard…… ### 2/5 — Good discount but awful to use *2022-04-06, version 1.4.1* As previous reviewer posted this card needs Internet to keep it up to date, it cannot be used at train entrance and exits as nowhere to scan the code, you have to ask someone to let you through the barriers which is a pain, we just waved it around or forced our way through the entrance and exits, not ideal. You have to keep logging in to the app which is also a pain. Guess we saved money overall with discounts at sites but this app really is not integrated with the transport network, it needs sorting out or scrapping. Ciao ### 2/5 — Good discount but awful app *2021-12-01, version 1.4.1* The cards are quite competitive if you use them to visit Pompeii and some museum as the museum of archeology. However the app is awful ! You need (to have internet) to login every time you you want to use it so it generate a qr code (that constantly change, you can’t take a screenshot).
