But there is something bugging me *2026-06-24, version 4.0.20* I had heard about the app years ago from one of my old friends, but back then I didn't have an email so I couldn't sign up, however I did eventually get the app in 2024. I've been using it to share the majority of my art ever since, but there is one thing that has bugged since I got it, and that's the fact that there is a very frustrating glitch that happens for both of the seperate types of devices I've used the app on. It happens when I try to put my post into a category, the moment I press on that button my whole screen glitches so much that it's almost impossible to pick a category, after a few taps and some waiting it finally works but the screen still glitches, and it takes forever to get out of that screen and the damn thing still glitches for a minute or two before it calms down, but god forbid I try to press on the menu again. I'm not sure if perhaps I just have bad luck, or if maybe other people have experienced this too on mobile, but I'd appreciate for someone to look into it. The devices I have are a iPhone X and an iPhone XS ### 3/5 — Can’t load anything. *2026-06-05, version 5.0.3* I like the app I really do. But every time I try to load it freezes. Or it takes forever just to post. Now I’m trying to log in and it just keeps saying refresh loading page. Every time I do it changes nothing. I can’t even get on my own page. I also like that there isn’t an algorithm, however I do think there needs to be a better way of submitting art to groups. You have to make a new post to post to them rather than submitting an already posted art to the groups. I do not really like submitting multiple posts to every group and not be able to see them on my profile. Also it is so so laggy and often crashes A LOOOTT!! It has discouraged me in using the app because it glitches and then crashes when I am mid posting. I’ve had the platform for maybe two years and the functional issues with the app itself haven’t been fixed. When I try to edit a post - crash. When I do almost anything related to a collection: adding a post, renaming, public or private - crash. Even liking some posts will crash the app for me recently. There is such a good community and i almost never see anything negative. Everyone is very encouraging and supportive to each other. Love that there isn’t a size limit on the art you can post. There is no algorithm, which gives everyone’s art a chance to be seen, and likes are mostly hidden. There is a dedicated section to asking for critiques, and a place where people can create challenges, which can be awesome for art block. There are also content warning filters you can use on your own art or to censor any art you might be uncomfortable with, which you can remove if you want to see the art. There are bugs somewhat often and the app isn’t the fastest, but the devs are very open and responsive to communication about any bugs or problems in the app. The app is fairly new-ish so I’m assuming there’s more to come, but even so it’s awesome so far. If you’re an artist i definitely recommend checking out this app, the community is so supportive and it’s nice to be able to post art without feeling the frustration of having to try to appeal to an algorithm. The layout of both the entire interface UX is great and the customizing for your profile is awesome. But it’s still a fairly new app and there are bugs that crawl out now and then. I do with there were a way to block seeing reposts, there are some users that repost every single post that clogs up my feed. But other than that I’m in love with Artfol ### 3/5 — It’s fine, but not the most functional. *2023-11-16, version 2.3.22* I get it, this isn’t a reflection on the creators of the app. I really get that it’s a lot to handle with no help for no pay. But that’s the hard truth. This app is only okay. It has a lot of cool features but functions at a 90s era microsoft dell level. It’s very slow, the community is circular and isolated (if you’re looking to meet and befriend other, typically young, artists, great. If you’re looking to network might be okay at best. If you want to grow a business, terrible). It’s just not that good. It’s okay. It’s fun if you have the patience to wait for every post to load for five minutes, and you don’t mind a young-ish, artist-centric echo chamber. But I think I’m finding more and more this app just isn’t for me and I can’t imagine it’ll get too much better anytime soon if it’s funding remains as is. It’s also very slow responding when trying to navigate different features and settings. Needs some work. Deleted my profile. ### 1/5 — Customer Service Sucks *2025-12-20, version 4.0.19* I created an account via desktop but can’t login on my phone nor the app. I’ve checked the email and password countless times and it’s the same. I get notifications to my email anytime someone comments or likes. My initial confirmation is the correct email but when I reached out to customer service I was told my email did not exist. I sent them a screenshot of my verification and notification emails that showed my email and never got a response. I have tried contacting them but this issue persists with no response. I have tried multiple times to delete my account on both desktop / mobile browsers and the app itself. All you get is a perpetually loading circle. Nothing ever happens. When I went to look for their Privacy Policy, it was pretty tough to find! In fact, if you click the App Store link to it, it just takes you to their home page to infinitely scroll the discover feed - no footer. When I did find it, it was also very short, with no details on how they handle data retention or deletion requests - a thing thats pretty standard policy in the internet. Their contact email (also buried) is for a similar domain, but not the same as artfol.app (or their previous, artful.me ). It’s a completely different thing, which makes me suspect if they’re checking it. I understand this is a small team with a heavy load on their shoulders, so Im sorry to have to leave a review like this, but this is unacceptable. ### 1/5 — I want to use your app *2022-12-10, version 2.3.13* I never write reviews but this has frustrated me to the point of making a review. I cannot sign into the app at all. I’ve tried so many times, I’ve reinstalled the app so many times but every time I try to signup I’ll put in the info and a white blank screen pops up at random times, you press the back arrow and it sends you back to the sign up screen and you gotta do it over again. I’ve done this so many times in many ways thinking I can get past it but I can’t. Some other people has gotten this and I wonder if they were ever able to get past it and use the app. ### 1/5 — Not the best. *2022-08-02, version 2.3.7* After spending some time on this app, I felt like it wasn’t worth it. Everything is posted chronologically, which makes it hard to see everyone’s art unless you spend an hour or two scrolling. This platform leans more toward “anime”, so if you don’t do anything along those lines, people don’t much care for it. It also feels like there are a lot of younger kids on it, and while that isn’t a bad thing, the text posting page should be avoided. This app crashes a lot, sometimes making it difficult to either post art or leave a comment on someone else’s post. It is decent enough, but I wouldn’t recommend it being your go to place to share art. ### 1/5 — Way too many bugs *2022-04-27, version 2.3.1* I’d love to use this app, but the overwhelming amount of bugs nearly makes it a waste of time. Crashing constantly, keyboard glitches, profile changes not saving sometimes, the list goes on. I can’t even look at this app professionally because it’s in such a shaky state right now. I’d rather deal with insta’s horrible algorithm. Then again twitter is a thing for now. ### 1/5 — Unable to Sign Up And Use The App *2022-02-06, version 2.2.23* I want to like this app. I seem to be the target audience for it, and I love to find new fellow artists to follow and chat with. I can't sign up, and an account is required to use the app. The account creation page goes pure white while I'm mid typing and there's nothing that will fix it. I've had to re-enter my data maybe four times, and I still have no account. I cannot even browse the app without having an account, so. For now, it's kind of useless. If you are an artist and want to sell art this might not be right place for you. But if you are an artist and want to share your art with other artists, this place is perfect! To understand the app, think of facebook but with more art and no ads. The app is very simple and easy to understand. Only complain I have is that the app does have some problems. For example, notifications. Some reason some of them will not show up. And I have to get out of the app, remove the app running on the background then loading the app again just to see new notifications and messages. Another problem I had was, texting someone might not work sometimes. Two times I had this problem where I couldn’t text someone even though we are chatting on comment section. Anyhow, the app is not perfect and I’m not expecting it to be. The dev doesn’t have lots of money to spend on the app. But maybe a little fix here and there might not hurt. I did join and became prisma to help the dev. Not sure what that is yet. But I feel like the likes I get actually matter because they are from actual artists. There is no feed, only a trending and recents tab which is a huge plus to me. There’s no algorithm pushing me to conform to gain followers. Everyone’s an artist (besides the scammers that plague the DMs) so the community is very wholesome. But people especially kids need to watch out for those scammers. And the censorship is awesome too! I’ve been tryna find a platform that wasn’t toxic where I could post more explicit drawings, but they either supported AI art, or just an extremely toxic app. I am thankful I found this app through instagram, I have never been grateful! I wish to continue using this app and see the app progress through growth ### 5/5 — Amazing App *2023-12-06, version 2.3.23* I love Artfol and have had an account since beta. Many of the older lower star reviews are from beta so don’t fret, the app does not take forever to load anymore, hasn’t in a long time. Most of the complaints about the app have to do with there being next to no algorithm, this is done to encourage users to actually engage with their audiences. For me this is actually a big deal, I get next to no engagement on instagram even though I have 500 followers while on Artfol I get a ton more engagement with only 100 followers, this means I can more easily see what people like about my art and connect with way more people. Remember more followers doesn’t mean more engagement! ### 5/5 — artfol my beloved *2023-09-05, version 2.3.20* the perfect portfolio/social media if you're an artist tired of twitter/insta nonsense <3 no ai or nfts allowed, no algorithm, just a nice place to upload your art without the quality crunching up your images or awkward cropping! the app is always being worked on too and the devs are super helpful and respond very quickly to bug reports/user reports. the community may be smaller than established social media platforms like twitter, but artfol has a cozy active community that will give you feedback and engagement on your artwork! lovely little app, a must-have for artists <3 ### 5/5 — I adore this app! *2023-08-16, version 2.3.19* I have been a long time Artfol user, since late 2020. The app has continuously improved since then. If you had the app back when it boomed and deleted it due to lag, you absolutely should try it again! The developers are actively listening to what the community suggests and recommends. Because the community on the app is small, it’s easier for them to do so. Once bugs are reported, they tend to be weeded out fairly quickly. Within the app itself, there is a huge array of features. Artfol has no algorithm, so you must rely solely on your connections and interactions with others. This means that you do need to put in the effort to communicate and interact with others if you wish for interaction yourself. It’s super easy to manage your own account for whatever you need, with both profile edits, gallery formats (two to choose from), featured, and introduction stuff. There are still bits and pieces that behave a bit clunky in-app, but if you keep in mind that all the potential, it easily becomes ignorable. I absolutely recommend this app to anyone who wishes to view others art and/or share their own! ### 5/5 — The only art social media i feel like i matter on *2022-12-18, version 2.3.13* Ive been using Artfol for a few years now and its always been my favorite, i’ve posted my art on other sites for as long as ive been an artist and usually never get a single like. But now i have over 100 followers and a minimum of 20 likes per post. Its not much but considering Artfol’s small community im content with it.
