I’ve tried to build a story book 8 times now and I’ve now given up. ### 1/5 — Love the product but make it easier to do!!! *2025-08-15, version 3.11.59* First of all, on their site my account is connected to my Gmail. For some reason the app doesn’t let you do the same so I spent 10 minutes just trying to reset my password so I could login. Then I can’t access my projects from the site so that was all for nothing. It would also be great to be able to upload photos from my photo album and not just Instagram. Why don’t the site and app talk to each other??! First, the app is broken. • “my orders” button does not work even after closing and relaunching, even after deleting and reinstalling the app • ironically, if not strategically, given the app’s problems - of which the devs must be fully aware - the “rate the app” button also does nothing Meanwhile even if these features actually worked, the app only offers a partial inventory of AU’s products so most of the time you’ll need to abandon it and use the website instead. Not sure what the strategy is, there, but it seems pretty ill-considered, especially in 2025 and with so much competition in the photo/printing/framing spaces. Their app is unusable and has very limited product options. If you want to access most of their products, you have to design through their website, making this app useless. The majority of people are using their phones instead of computers these days, so they really should fix this issue, or else their customers will go to competitors that have an easier user interface. ### 1/5 — Buggy *2024-11-30, version 3.11.53* Can’t get further than selecting a cover design before app crashes. Years later I thought I’d try again imagining all issues were fixed. I found the app easy to use as far as photo selections, however, the ease stops there. Have tried three times (connected to WiFi) to upload pictures for a photo album. Each time I get a message saying the upload failed. Such a shame. Their customer service is ineffective, often suggesting you recreate your project instead of providing real solutions. Although my initial purchases were trouble-free, I faced issues later on. When I reached out, they simply emailed me instructions on creating a project, ignoring that mine was already finished but had ordering problems. They admitted their app and website are flawed, unable to sync projects between platforms. They offered a promo code as compensation, but it only works for website purchases, requiring proof of my order before sending it. Overall, their customer service was unacceptable. I'll be redoing my project with a company that values their customers and manages projects effectively. ### 2/5 — Incompatibility with website is a huge bummer *2024-06-08, version 3.11.35* Really love this company’s products, but I’m extremely disappointed with the app. The fact that you can’t see projects created on desktop via the app and vice versa is a huge inconvenience. Like many people, my photos are almost exclusively on my phone. It’s frustrating that if I want to get photos from my phone directly into an artifact uprising product, I have to use the app’s clumsy interface and limited design options (no brightness adjustment on photos, no font and finish options as there are on the desktop site). This seems like pretty basic stuff and would make me way more likely to use their services for future projects. As it is, I’d recommend folks avoid the app and use whatever method you can to get your photos onto a desktop, so you can use their site. ### 1/5 — Wrong order. Website, Facebook, email. Nothing. I’m confused. Also it takes you to safari to look at other albums. Opening it on this device just gives you the phone dimensions so you can’t use your full screen. Huge missed opportunity. I’m mainly writing so a recent review pops up since the main ones were from 8years ago when I downloaded. I downloaded the app because surely an interface like this would run smoother on a set app vs safari on mobile. I wanted to add photos from my phone to albums for my ongoing projects. Seamless transition to work on the project on the computer later. Nope. That simple function doesn’t exist in this app. I also can’t see my current projects within the app. Half the menu items take you to a safari popup so there’s actually no use for the app. Sad but I guess I’ll just save the space on my phone by deleting the app and just use the website in safari to upload my photos and edit on the computer. This isn’t difficult developers, so many other photo companies have this part down. My app review has nothing to do with the company or their products. I love the books I’ve received. I did a few rush orders before Christmas (seriously the week of) GOT THEM BEFORE CHRISTMAS!! The quality is sooo amazing!! Unfortunately, this year it rained for over an hour, but I was amazed at how well the pictures stood up in the rain! Although they were a little damp the next day, once they dried, they were fine. The service of this company and the quality of their prints are both excellent!
