### 4/5 — Very useful app

*2019-07-19*

I find this app very useful but WHY have you now made the recording button so small! It used to be quite big and the children could press it easily. Now it is tricky to press and stop and start recording.

### 4/5 — Quick Start is Great!

*2017-09-25, version 3.1*

Thank you for listening to your users' concerns and adding the Quick Start mode. The original update was very disappointing for those of us that wanted to be able to select multiple sounds and positions for quick drill and practice. The latest update has restored my faith in the ArtikPixs app.

### 4/5 — Use it for speech therapy

*2016-05-13, version 2.51*

This is great, but could use 2 additions:
There is no -ng sound.
There should be a way to change the default sound settings so I don't have to mute the "yay" and "aw" sounds every time.

### 4/5 — So useful!

*2016-03-09, version 2.51*

I use this app frequently with my article kids! It's great, and the kids really enjoy using it. My only complaint would be that the "sentences" are often phrases, not full sentences, but it's still a great app.

### 2/5 — Artic pix update

*2013-04-11, version 2.4*

Yikes I am having the same problem.....help! This is my go to app for articulation....I need my voice recording feature back!

### 2/5 — Needs help!

*2013-04-11, version 2.4*

I have been using this app for almost 2 years now and with this most recent update, I have been having several problems with it. It isn't always storing the data I am trying to save for students after they have completed, especially if there is more than one student when closing out a session. The app has multiple times suddenly closed out, losing the information that was starting to be collected or that was attempting to be saved. I like the ideas of some of the changes made during this most recent update but am now hesitant to use it as the past two days it has been giving me so much difficulty.

### 3/5 — Was great...hoping for awesome....

*2013-04-10, version 2.4*

I have really liked the app for therapy and I was really excited when the update installed for the addition of a video component...however, each time I try to activate video the app crashes and closes. Disappointing. Mine is a 2nd generation iPad, don't know if this is only for the very latest version or just a glitch.

### 2/5 — A very sad SLPA:(

*2013-01-12, version 2.3.1*

I bought the app about two months ago and now the audio is not working. I tap on the cards and I can't here the voice or the data tracking. I checked the settings on the app and all sound is on but it still doesn't work. I feel ripped off!! If anyone knows how to fix it please help!

### 3/5 — Good app

*2012-11-15, version 2.3.1*

I really like this app. However, I would like to see more pictures added, as my kids get really board saying the same 9 words on some levels. I love being able to save it to my google docs, however, is there a way you can make it so you stay logged into google docs? It takes a lot of time to have to log in each time I want to save a different students information.

### 3/5 — Useful, needs improvement

*2012-09-16, version 2.3*

-The layout is easy to use
- Needs more words/picture cards, 15 on some sounds is not adequate. This is my only real complaint.

### 4/5 — Busy SLP

*2012-03-09, version 2.2*

I really like this app and my students do as well, however it would be so much better if you could SAVE the recordings to playback so the student can hear the difference in themselves from poor production to better production of a word. Once you record it erases the previous recording. Please add this feature! Also, when I email the information to myself it just gives the information, but not the dates even though they are on the iPad.

### 3/5 — change pictures please

*2012-01-11, version 2.2*

I like this app with the exception that the flashcard choices aren't well thought out. If you're working with a child who is struggling with initial /k/, and the word has a final /t/, it's impossible and unfair on the child. You then have the flip through and find other words. This issue come up with all the sounds. It's unfortunate, but a classic problem with purchased articulation material.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — So unhappy with the updated version

*2017-10-31, version 3.1.2*

when I purchased the original version I was extremely happy. I used it every day with all my clients. I am extremely dissatisfied with the updated version. It is no longer challenging for the older clients when playing matching games. I don't like the male voice. I paid a lot of money for this app and now I am very frustrated. I do not recommend anyone purchase this app!!!!!!!!

### 1/5 — This new version is terrible

*2017-09-22, version 3.0*

Please please please bring back the older version. This new one is not user friendly or efficient. One of my favorite apps is now practically unusable and my students are disappointed!

### 1/5 — WORST update ever

*2017-09-21, version 3.0*

Oh I miss the old version. I’m not opposed to change but for an app that I used daily it’s now basically untouchable. Takes too long to set up and not as flexible, easy to use as previous version. Also, I had to delete and re enter profiles as I was unable to edit phonemes to target.
Bummed out SLP I am!

### 1/5 — Difficult

*2017-09-15, version 3.0*

This has changed from an app I use daily to, so far, an unusable app. I have had the full version for years and now have a version with one deck. Reading directions have not been helpful. There is no Restore button under my Activities.

### 1/5 — Please bring back the older version.

*2017-09-12, version 3.0*

The new version is hard to use quickly. Each student's targets must be set before the session starts. I liked how the older version allowed you pick which sound you wanted to work on without having to assign it to a child.

### 1/5 — What have you done?!?

*2017-09-11, version 3.0*

Please give me the old version back! You have made this so complicated, and virtually impossible to use with more than one student at a time when working within a time schedule. I need a good, clear, easy to operate app where I can quickly select specific sounds we are working on; you know, just like the old version. The graphics are even a lot less child friendly. Today, I found myself closing up the iPad, and going back to my old black and white printable articulation book. Please fix this....NOW!

### 1/5 — Bring back the old version, please!

*2017-09-08, version 3.0*

I understand that you were trying to help in creating profiles for each student, but this actually makes the app much slower to use when I'm working with students at my schools. I have 50 students on my caseload and it is much more realistic for me to use the app how it used to be configured rather than to create a separate profile for each of them. I have students working on multiple sounds, but we usually only focus on one sound per session, sometimes only in one word position. This update makes it difficult to quickly navigate to the target sound I want for each student during his/her session. Just an idea- maybe you could have a quick start screen similar to the previous version of the app so that it's quicker to navigate to a specific sound when working with students? It seems that this new setup is more practical for clinic based SLP's who have fewer students to serve and more time to serve those students than school based SLP's. Sadly, this app isn't set up in a practical way for me to use it anymore.

### 1/5 — Horrible update

*2017-09-07, version 3.0*

This app went from being my go to articulation app to unusable. You can no longer select a target and go. You have to create a profile for each student and then you cannot easily change the target for that student. For example, if you are working on /k/ and then want to review /s/ blends, you have to go out to the main menu and edit the profile. When working with kids, I don't have time to mess around with student profiles and I definitely don't want to have to create a profile for every student I work with. This app needs to go back to the old menu interface. My iPad automatically updated this app, so I guess I learned my lesson with automatic updates. Terrible interface! This app is ruined in my opinion.

### 1/5 — SLP

*2012-09-17, version 2.3*

This app needs to be improved and add a choice for words at the sentence level. It's to expensive just for pictures at the word level.

### 2/5 — I paid $30 for a completely different app!

*2017-10-21, version 3.1.2*

I have used daily artikpix since 2011. It was perfect for 5-minute artic. Update dropped my 5-star frequent recommendation down to 1-star. After revamp with QuickStart put me up to 2 stars. Getting rid of the pink eyesore background and allowing me to choose presentation order (for example if I'm working on /f/, I should be able to move final /f/ that he can produce to the top, then initial, then medial, or s-blends doing ones they can do well first as review, then right into trickier ones) used to be able to change the order, can't now, having to do just /f/ final, end, QuickStart again, then do just initial and medial.

### 5/5 — Still love it!

*2018-05-08, version 3.1.4*

I’ve used this app for years and I still love it. My students love it too.

### 5/5 — Three kids later

*2013-10-05, version 2.51*

We've been using this app since it came out, on both an iPhone and an iPad. It's great. It's so strange to watch your kids flip through the cards, trying to pronounce everything. They were 4 and 2 at the time, so it's not like the could actually read. Did this help them read? Maybe - but they learned how to pronounce everything, or at least most, if not all, of the words in the app. Three years later it's time for our next child to play with this, and hopefully learn something.

### 5/5 — artikpix

*2013-10-03, version 2.51*

This is a great program for articulation, but please allow a way for the 'yeah' and 'aw' to be silenced!!

### 5/5 — Worth it

*2013-07-17, version 2.5*

This app is worth the money. It has every sound initial, medial and final at the single word and sentence level. It can both audio and video record - great reinforcer and motivator for the kids! Has a memory game for every sound in addition to the flashcards. As an SLP, I highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — Love update!

*2013-04-12, version 2.41*

I love that I can make my own cards for those unusual speech disorders! Thank you for the update! I can target language and speech goals in one setting!

### 5/5 — Amazing responses from kids with autism

*2012-03-24, version 2.2*

Seen a few kids that are mostly non-verbal come out of their shell with this app. The ability to record and review speech appears to be a very high motivator for some of my students.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2012-02-11, version 2.2*

Hands down, this is my most-used app, and one of the apps that made purchasing an iPad for work really worth it. I *always* have a full arsenal of Artic flashcards with me, which is priceless in a K-2 school. The students enjoy recording & scoring themselves, and I love the ease of keeping data, and having it available to me at any time. Scoring groups of kids is awesome.

Some caveats/requests. It can be tough to be so upfront about whether a student is right or wrong - would LOVE to be able to mark a sound as approx. or cued, and to turn off just that negative sound. Also would like to be able to choose to stay in sentence mode instead of switching back & forth. Finally, the sentences weren't well thought out, many times containing multiple instances of the target sound. Fortunately, you can skip that pic or, be creative & make up your own!

Thanks!

P.S. Updates are great -- love that we can now use landscape or portrait mode. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2012-01-19, version 2.2*

I love this app! I don't even have to correct my kids sometimes because the "aw" sound it gives when the incorrect button is pushed is enough to cue them they produced their sound wrong and a lot of them will automatically correct themselves! Love the landscape mode now!

### 5/5 — Best app for the price

*2011-12-28, version 2.2*

Tried a number of similar apps for aphasia and this is hands down the best bang for the buck. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Great update to the app!

*2011-12-24, version 2.2*

I'm pleased to see that Artikpix now has landscape mode for the iPad. It's nice to have the option to choose between portrait and landscape mode based on student preference. This is my go-to app to use for speech articulation! You can't beat all the features you get for the price.
