### 1/5 — Requires a Subscription to Use

*2026-08-13, version 1.0.40*

To put it short, this app is an amazing idea and concept ruined by greed the obsession with AI.

All the features that make this idea of having a collection of all the artworks you see great, is locked by a paywall. To upload photos for example, you need to subscribe. You’re literally better off making a spreadsheet of all your photographed artworks than using this app.

Not to mention, the AI marketing this app has? I honestly thought this was just an artwork collection app, but they market this as an AI app as well? Like, really? You cater your audience for artists and yet you market this app as THE VERY controversial thing that many artists have negative feelings about??? Obviously, the core feature of this app is that it will detect what artwork it’s looking at is powered by ai. That’s fine imo, I think it’s cool even that it can do that. But it seems like other features are AI and even some AI generation? For example, I’m pretty sure all the summaries it gives you when you’ve viewed an artwork is generated by AI. Like, why? This is so unnecessary. Why not cite articles, the museum website, books even? That would be such a good learning tool and it would make this app such a more interesting and an academic like app.

And of course, their subscriptions also give you AI features. The app can scan your entire photo collection on your phone for artworks is one. (Totally not sketchy lol)
Their FORTY DOLLAR yearly subscription in particular is the one I unknowingly subscribed to after I completed their week trial. Absolutely manipulative. I’m willing to bet most of their subscription sales aren’t even from people genuinely interested in their app, most of it is probably from them charging people who didn’t even realize they were put into a subscription.
I wanna love this app, but yeah, they ruined such a great idea.

### 3/5 — Not as advertised

*2026-08-09, version 1.0.40*

I need a tool to organize all my art photos and this will get me there but it’s going to be a lot of work.

First off, if you allow it to look through your photos and upload, it will think all sorts of photos are art that aren’t. And you have to swipe left right to confirm. With that, I figured it would be easier to just self select the photos so I uploaded a few hundred and it’s still analyzing them a week later to try and figure out what they are.

Second, despite the fact that the photos have location tags, it gets the location wrong A LOT. Upload 20 photos a museum from the same day and it’ll say at least 2-3 of them are in some museum on the other side of the world from the one you were in.

Finally, it’s gets the identification wrong enough times that it’s noticeable.

Overall, after I spend a few hours messing with it, it’ll be fine but it’s far from the seamless experience I was sold on.

### 1/5 — Great concept. Terrible business model

*2026-08-06, version 1.0.40*

There should be a free tier. So people have the chance to use the app but in a more limited way which makes sense. How many museums do you expect a person to visit in a span of 7 days?🤣Forcing people to pay upfront is too much and honestly lazy app development. uninstalling.

### 4/5 — Loving this app

*2026-08-01, version 1.0.40*

This app is working really well in Australian museums and art galleries. Will also extract info from scene shots of art works and text. Would be great to separate name into first and family name to aid sorting.

### 1/5 — High cost

*2026-07-28, version 1.0.40*

Why does this simple app have a subscription cost as high as a Netflix subscription?

### 5/5 — Best art app ever

*2026-07-14, version 1.0.40*

I love having my museum visits organized

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-07-14, version 1.0.40*

The answer to my prayers

I photo lots of paintings. Now I can catalogue and remember the artist

### 1/5 — So far it sucks

*2026-07-14, version 1.0.40*

It looks like I have to go through my phos and tag the art work to add to the app and the app will identify it. I thought it was going to scan my photos and pull the artworks and identify them. Not even close to useful

### 1/5 — What a letdown

*2026-07-13, version 1.0.38*

User experience is poor and AI ArtScan scanning ability even worse. It would be so much more simple if it was easy to just upload a photo of the art with the tombstone I’ve already taken a photo of. Definitely not worth the amount of money they are asking for.

### 5/5 — J’adore

*2026-07-12*
