Now this app is full of bugs on section to save, import, browse, etc., it seems the SparkLE will become useless!😥😥 Arturia, will there be no more app updates? This is a solid drum machine but it needs: - auv3 - files app integration - auv3 hosting - more kits - AudioShare integration - quality of life enhancements - removal of iTunes file system - not to be dumped by the developer! It feels like classic gear to use it with so many nice features . ### 5/5 — iSpark is TOTALLY AWESOME AND RADICAL for MIDI BUDDIES *2021-09-24, version 1.0.2* There’s nothing that can be said or experienced with iSpark as both a part of a bigger group of virtual (or actual) midi machines speaking to each other and letting us listen or as a standalone MPComputer that can string along complex sequence arrangements with real-time recorded automation given to every parameter in each triggered sample as well as both of the assigned effects, which can make your sequenced drum patterns go from - boom boom bap, , ba boom boom bap, passstzz (x8) to bitabing loba loba, bitabing loba swick ck ck cckk ch ch BOOOOOWWWWWWWW puck BOOOOOOOWWWWWWW puck, bitabing loba loba schweee schweee … or equivalent. Any of the minor quirks, crashes, or the strange way that you have to navigate the hierarchy of folders in the sample libraries are just that - minor. You can load anything you want as a sample and do a limited amount of editing from within the app, with the added ability to stack up to 4 layers per pad that can be triggered in different ways (stacked together, velocity [think of dividing the pad into 4 horizontal pieces], round robin) which i have found is complete over kill unless you are using dynamic samples of a single source. I have become pretty attached to the AKAI MPC format and approach to writing after many years playing the drums and guitar, but I gotta say that for iOS the only other app that does anything close would be iSPARK. I use it to broadcast live in AUM along with lots of other noisy friends(apps) who are all eating off the same midi plate and are looking for dessert. ### 5/5 — Arturia why have you abandoned iSpark? *2021-01-04, version 1.0.2* Hey Arturia why would you abandon iSpark one of the best iOS drum machines on iPad? I decided to put it on my new iPad because I had never used it and thought I should go through app’s that I don’t normally use. So glad I did. The sounds are very decent and some of the features, including powerful automation lanes in the sequencer, make this a lot of fun. A LOT. And <3 to Arturia for the Covid inspired giveaway. I know I got some welcome pleasure out of that decision. I would be in for buying expansions and using this live but the absence of MIDI learn is big for me. It feels like one of those decisions a developer makes to protect the full AU/VST version, and that’s unfortunate. To have this thing rigged up to a controller, especially the live effects like reverse, strobe, tape down, etc., would be superb. BUT! They gave me this. I thanks them heartily! Let’s just say I have been using iOS apps in addition to hardware and software for many years. I even have beta tested about seventy or so apps on my iPhones and ipads-I am an app addict. I even devoted an entire iPad for a few live gigs so I could run this app with the Sparkle controller (not as my main drum source as of the last year or so the app is not very stable). This is one of the best iOS apps for drums imho. It needs an update though. I know they were cool enough to give it away for free during the pandemic but PLEASE update it. I know you guys rarely update your apps but don’t abandon these stellar apps. All and all this is really nice iOS drum machine. Has decent sounds. The sequencer is easy to use. Also you can really tweak the sounds with a lot more effects than you would think. I even can get a few gnarly effects by doubling the phaser effects which impressed me enough to grab a SparkLe (my buddy sold it to me for 15 bucks brand new so I would have grabbed it anyways but it brought the app to use outside the studio which is always fun).
